Daniel - I work in an office, I'm a lawyer, I've never driven a truck in my life, though I have the usual boyhood nostalgia for trucks, tippers and trains. 2 of your lorry’s that you sold at the auction came through my terminal in Hull docks recently, they where loaded onto a vessel which was bound for New Oleans but I believe they are to be transferred to Nassau

I used to spend my Sunday evenings watching Top Gear with Clarkson, Hammond and May. It was something I always looked forward to and it’s not been the same since the trio left. I now find myself looking forward to Ashville every week. You’ve shown me (a class 2 hook loader driver) what boss man has to contend with on a daily. It’s given me an understanding and appreciation of the work that goes on behind the scenes. You’ve shown a great insight of the industry and set a leading example of what’s possible. Well done on your achievements. You’re an inspiration to us all!

Well said Daniel. Asheville drivers get paid well compared to indicted peers (I’ll take your word I don’t know) company does well Daniel gets new car , invests in a new material handler or starts a new construction project. Company runs into a tough few months drivers still get paid, Daniel’s hair goes a bit more grey.Daniel has to sell car and move into his mums house, drivers still get paid.

Those trucks are usually wrapped in oiled tarps, or kept below decks. They sell them for significant markup to mining or woodcutting operations and sometimes they use them for transport of crops/fish. The worst fate is when a warlord buys them and welds posts for DsHK 12.7mm machine guns, RPK machine guns, 23mm dual mounted anti-aircraft machine guns, or rockets, recoiless rifles and become technicals. Although they are usually too slow for this but they make good gun platforms because they can carry lots of ammo and troops

The editing on these is quality; the Terry = Penfold and Queen references were hilarious 🤣

This might a funny comment but l think many people thought you didn’t do any “work” aside from being the boss. It was good to see you muscle around one of the trucks. Sometimes people forget the boss man started off like everyone else .

36:00 - Not to mention that employees don't absorb any of the risks but they expect a pay cheque, regardless of whether the business makes money or not. That's the agreed deal and that's why the boss drives a Rolls. Because as long as he's treating the staff right and everyone gets paid on time, he bloody deserves it. If you struggle with that, you've obviously never tried running a business.

Daniel you dont need to apologize at all! The lorry drivers (no offence) didn't risk capital and hundreds of thousands even millions to get your company to where its at. No one wants to put their livelihood and all their money into a dream/ business but the moment the owner of that business does well he has to share the money to the people who didn't work as hard or risk as much capital at the beginning? Not how life works!!! You reap what you sow. Always happy to see Ashville grow and if it didn't have Daniel it wouldn't have ever been the company it is today. You do know that some flatbed trailers have twist locks on for carrying containers if you can not find a skeleton trailer. I’m on containers out the port of Tyne and some hauliers use flatbeds with twist locks to collect loaded containers.

Daniel, Perhaps when doing the HGV follow up video you could experience sleeping in a lorry overnight, maybe parking in a service and finding something to eat on the move. Perhaps you should do all of those things and then deal with a depot trying to squeeze everything out of your driving time …..for example a whole week ? Normally really enjoy your videos and watch religiously but the HGV driver vid fired me up mate ! 👍🏼

Hi Daniel. Just wanted to say how much I really enjoy the vids. Im a airport taxi driver so often see your wagons when I'm on the 25! Cutting the ball, you really do inspire me. How hard you work is inspirational and it shows in your team and your buisness. Im a big hgv fanatic have been planning to do it for so long but unfortunately money and nerves have always put me off. I work hard too but there never seems to be enough put aside. I have to step children very young. But I hope I can teach them the meaning of hard work. You only get out of this life with what you put in. Your comments about having nice things, I totaly agree. People are very jealous unfortunately. One of the things I've been lucky enough to learn. You deserve your nice items because of what you put into your buisness. Its very obvious that Ashville is your baby. First found your channel because I was looking for second hand Volvo FMX's for a new work lorry and your customisation video came up, loved the editing and how you presented yourself so watched an episode of Ashville weekly not sure what number maybe 40 something. I then went back through and watched day in the life and every episode of Ashville weekly up to date as well as every other Ashville video new and old I could get my hands on. You donot need a Skelly trailer a flat bed with twist locks on it will be ok for you to put the can on. A flat bed will be better to get hold of and faster to find. Hope that will help you out.
