I love how chill Dean Cain's takeoffs and landings were as Superman. Very much like how they were with Christopher Reeve. Neither one took off like a rocket or landed like a boulder the way HC did as Supes. And most of the time neither of them were going at Mach 10 around Metropolis, either.
I think a great deal of the rocket take offs/landing a boulder is just directors drunk on CGI... When a technology is new/novel it is always used too darn much. It is human nature. Logically, you wouldn't want Superman to go Mach 10 around a city. The buildings couldn't take the pounding and neither could the people.
Always loved this scene. Back then the comparisons to Donner and Reeve's Superman were higher than ever. And yet, this pilot episode left a lasting impression and held its own. Beautiful scene and beautiful score by Jay Gruska.
The scene from 0:43 to 0:58 ....... I remember the first time i saw it when this show premiered. The effects, the music were all top tier for its time and in a TV budget. In that moment all i could think was, "SUPERMAN IS BACK BABY!!!!" ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for posting this. I have been looking for the scene for ages! I was feeling nostalgic and I like the score for this scene. Bittersweet memories of watching this with my younger sister who is 37 now. How time flies. Like button pressed!
I Completely relate here 🙌💛 I actually almost forgot how good, adorable, wholesome, beautifully nostalgically "90's corny" this series was, and also how impressionable this show was on me as a teen. Especially with the musical score Melodies of Lois and Clark feelings and love moments. 😌 it is crazy how me at 40 hear these Lois & Clark Melody moments still get goose bumps and actually kind of emotional like I did when I was a husky, hopelessly romantic, always misunderstood, looking for love teen 😅💛🤷♂️ I didn't realize how much I missed and actually loved this show until I started binge watching it about 2 weeks ago from the beginning. 😁 due to the annoying current events of the times that we are in now between the pandemic and all the division, and the foolish unnecessary cultural cleansing. I have took to a taking of just locking myself in my room and watching 90's shows from a simpler time that I understand and makes sense. And in the process of doing so I happily stumbled upon Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman and I started binge watching it all the way from the beginning on Amazon Prime. and I see myself wholeheartedly, happily, reminiscently, laughing at all corny 90's moments in the series 😅💛 and I have to admit it is such a breath of fresh air amongst the annoying chaos that is going on now in the world. And from the looks at the dates of these comments it looks like I'm not the only one that's taking a mental trip to better times. I think we are all here trying to escape this madness right now hoping that "the next leap, will take us home" 🙌 #CalgonTakeMeAway #80sBaby90sTeen #BestGenerationsEver #CharacterGeneration
This is pure superman, in his element.. the ordinary, simple man he is, just gifted with powers that he uses primarily for others.. the only selfish thing he does is to get home often to his folks.. this, WB, is what superman is.. he's just Clark, a farmboy trying to be a good person.
I've grown to have a lot of affection for this show. In some ways it has the same kind of Charm that the first Star Trek and Brisco County Jr both had... You don't need to have top tier of special effects to tell good stories with skillful actors. The show had some wonderful episodes, including, this one. Soon after this scene, Clark gives birth to Superman by having his mother sew him the first blue suit. It is for totally practical reasons, It will put some distance between Clark as human being, and Kal-El, the alien who flies... it gives him an opportunity to be of help.
Homeless black man When he say give me the bucks and Clark Kent was walking in the little air and give him homeless black man say you must angel brother and Clark Kent fly up the air and Homeless black man said some kind of angel by Gregory Miller. Clark Kent is flying without his superman suit for first time.
