@@mrdoggo3569 Different opinions indeed. The Dark Rooms theme is incredible, the exterior theme too, the "talking with ghosts" is unforgettable. These three recurring themes are wonderful and more memorable (and appreciable) than all the Dark Moon ost imo
With the full audio,I noticed that the “ghost capturing” theme sounds almost like LM2’s ghost capturing theme. Maybe they’ll change this when the full game releases. Also, besides that, the game looks gorgeous in terms of the cutscenes and the aesthetics of the rooms!
I think so. It looks like each floor is gonna have a portrait ghost-like boss, such as the king ghost here and the director ghost shown during the Treehouse
I hope it’s more like the first game. Dark Moon (or 2 in Ireland) wasn’t bad by any means, it just didn’t do it for me. I loved the originality of the portrait ghosts and I hope we get something like that in this game. I hope it’s not mission structured and I hope we don’t just fight the same ghosts over and over again like in dark moon. I hope the knight ghost is given a backstory and a name that isn’t just something like ‘knightie’ or ‘knighergeist’. I hope each floor has a new original ghost with personality and not just another wave of blue and red ghosts. I hope we get speedy spirits or golden mice back or something like that. I know I will probably love the game either way, but I hope Nintendo give it the love and the effort that they gave odyssey. I need the elemental powers back, the boos with funny boo puns, rooms that have fun puzzles and designs to them. It may be just nostalgia speaking but please Nintendo, don’t make this game dark moon 2. Make it Luigi’s mansion 2. Excited for it either way but I just need another good Luigi’s mansion.
ParodyNet Yeah I am pretty nostalgic aren’t I 😄 I guess I was just kind of hoping for the same game. Your right there probably are portrait like ghosts in the game. I guess I don’t want EXACTLY the same game, but I think I’m hoping for it to lean more towards the original than dark moon. I’ll still pick it up either way though.
@@parodynet3004 Dude, chill. He made only valid points. His entire comment is valid. A "NEW" game in a series should at least try to stay true to what the originals had. Adding new stuff isn't the issue, it's when you zap the series of the atmosphere the original had we have an issue. Dark Moon is a great game, wonderful *level* design. But that's one glaring flaw with it. The levels. All he was saying is that he didn't want it to be dark moon 2, because he prefers the much darker atmosphere and, let's be honest, not "halloween decoration scary" game in general. Dark moon 2 and this game as well just seem like they're halloween decorations put into the format of a game. I always say that you can't compare the two games. And, it's difficult to say "Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon isn't a good Luigi's Mansion game" because the mechanics were sublime. That's the only way to put it though, he just wants a proper Luigi's Mansion sequel, not a Dark Moon sequel. That's why people still want top down Zelda games. Some people just aren't big fans of 3d zeldas, and enjoyed the simplicity of top down 2d. That's one reason I'm certain the LA remake will sell well. That makes no sense, you say that bringing back old features isn't good for a NEW game? Then I guess no dark light. Bringing back old features is a good thing. Basing your game around them is different. if you ask me, begging Nintendo to make it LM 2 and not DM2 is difficult. The game seems to be free, not mission based. Which is a wonderful thing. However, that charm, that atmosphere, that zappy soundtrack, that "scary" look of the original game, and the unsettling ghost will be forgotten with time. I doubt they will return to it. Which is a shame, but at least LM3 won't be a bad game by any means. I'm sure it'll be a wonderful game, just not a wonderful "Luigi's Mansion" game.
@@parodynet3004 Part 1: Actually, you seem to be the only one spouting horse shit. Sorry. It was free. It had a lot more freedom than the second game, there was some linearity, but not NEARLY as much as the second game. It also allowed you to just explore. An action adventure game. So, do you consider everybody who has valid points to be "blinded by nostalgia"? Sorry, but I don't have nostalgia for Luigi's Mansion. I only recently played it. I loved every minute of it though, I also loved much of Dark Moon. If I were blinded by nostalgia, I'd be mercilessly shitting on Dark Moon anyway. Then you clearly haven't played the game if you think there are only a few moments of freedom. Please consider playing the game first. Don't judge a book by it's cover. It's a lot more free than Dark Moon. It DOES have linearity, I'm not denying that. But it still has freedom. It's not the same thing. Why? Because E. Gadd calls you every five fucking seconds in the game, dumbass. I'm talking about dark moon when I say that. He does call you in LM, but again, not NEARLY as much. Also, did you forget that you get sent back to E. Gadd's lab EVERY LEVEL? After defeated every level, you get sent back. You only get sent back a few times in LM. Again, clearly you haven't even played the game. You're the only one here who seems to be blinded by affection with the second game. No, it really didn't lmao. Dude, IT WAS MISSION BASED. Did your peanut brain already forget that? It didn't say close to the game AT ALL. The art style was a lot more cartoonish, the ghost's personalities were basically cartoons at that point, the game's soundtrack switched to primarily orchestra rather than the zappy, they almost gutted the importance of Luigi's humming (it's still there, but not nearly as important to the soundtrack). "A ghost haunted environment in which you need to suck up the ghosts there." You clearly haven't read what I've said. Blinded by affection for Dark Moon, surely. "That's pretty much the concept of the franchise to which all three games are loyal so your point you brought up is invalid." again, didn't read what I said. Stop avoiding it. YOU'RE in denial. I disagree. By your logic, if I take the formula of chocolate milk and replace everything in with cheese, then it's staying true to the original. Prove me wrong if you can, I'm a bit shaky on this one. "And other than the darkness I don't see what the original makes better over what I have seen so far from this game." Please. *Read what I say.* Read what I say, or don't bother responding. Getting the last word isn't worth it if you don't understand what those words were about. I never said that either of them were "better" than each other. Hell, this game hasn't even released yet. Because whether it's better or not solely depends on YOU as a person. Some elements I like, you won't. Same for the reverse. It's not just "oH LM is dARk AHha scARy". I've already listed plenty of things that completely change the entire vibe of the game if altered. Which they were altered. Now these games are incomparable, it's almost as if they made a cartoon reboot of a tv show. Still based around the same concept, but the execution is very different. "The original's soundtrack was great but it also lacked a variety of other osts" Luigi's Mansion was a very short game. Some call that a fault, others just see it as a short book. It's soundtrack, while lacking variety, had it's own personality to it. They used a lot of theremin, it gave the game that ghostly feeling it needed. Dark moon's soundtrack is great too, but it just relied so much on orchestra that it had a completely different feeling. I think you understand what I'm getting at through all this. That the games are incomparable, they're far too different from each other. Whether it be soundtrack, graphics, atmosphere, ghost, etc. LM stuck with the same song, but different versions of it. You could either see that as a flaw, or an artistic choice. No one knows if it was an artistic choice, I see it as that though. I can understand why people wouldn't like it though. The way lit rooms were so silent, just the sound of Luigi Whistling, or how the portrait ghost were so unique from each other and truly gave off a very dark vibe. Hell, one description of the portrait ghost says that a little girl (the portrait ghost) died in her sleep. " "What was meant to be a short nap seems to have turned into eternal rest for sweet Sue Pea." The old version of the original was even darker than the one we have. I don't see any of this in lm2, not saying there should be stories of a little girl dying in her sleep, I'm saying that the game is very different. It's more light hearted. Again, some like that. I do too, that's why I can't say "LM is objectively better than DM."
Part 2: "And honestly, if you're looking for a really scary game to go ahead and play some photorealistic horror game with virtual reality or something" That's an absolutely stupid response. I never said I was looking for photorealistic horror. I never said I wanted resident evil or silent hill. I wanted Luigi's Mansion. That's honestly like saying "Hey, you want a new Mario Game? Fuck you! Go play Super Lucky's Tail!" Doesn't make sense, does it? Luigi's Mansion is Luigi's Mansion. Not resident evil. It simply can't be replaced, I've seen no other game such as Luigi's Mansion. Sounds like I'm praising it, but I'm actually considering that a flaw. I believe it was so different for Nintendo that they didn't want to risk making a proper sequel. It's a cult classic. Which I guess is why they handed dark moon and what I presume is also lm3 to next level games. It ended up selling twice as much as the original. So I understand why they'd stick with the more cartoony art style from a business perspective. I completely understand. It makes sense. "the original game's gameplay is kinda bland" That's subjective. Although, I don't disagree. LM Dark Moon's mechanics are a lot better and interesting. Wasn't as satisfying though, you had to use a circle pad over an analog stick. But I think how you could build up that meter and give them the ultra succ made up for it. "They already brought back the main core concept that is crucial for the Luigi's Mansion games and they expanded it with new features" The core CONCEPT. The CONCEPT. The CONCEPT. You keep saying CONCEPT, unaware that the concept is only the building blocks for what later could be a collapsed building. Yes, the CONCEPT is there. Luigi flashes ghost and gives them the succ. However, you can't have pizza without the cheese and sauce. There's much more than the basics when it comes to mastering the concept of something. There's the little things, some bigger things, even bigger things, and then there's the concept itself. Mario could continue hopping on goombas in a photorealistic and gorey platformer and you'd still be saying "guYS The cOncEpT iS TheRe it"S OK" It's not. There's much more than the center of the Earth, there's everything on the surface. "You only say the original was scary because you grew up with the game hence the nostalgia but even when I played this game" This is why you're stupid. You make assumptions based off of nothing. I didn't grow up with the game, I've only *recently played it.* So piss off with your nostalgia calling. Stop calling everyone who has valid points "nostalgia" filled. If that's your only point, then leave. If you didn't notice in my previous reply, I put quotations around "scary" for a reason. It's not scary, it's unsettling. Disturbing in it's own way. This is what separates the game from anything else Nintendo has made, as well as it's own sequels. You're stupid. How many times are YOU going to missunderstand what I say? It's very simple. I'm not saying it's crucial to add old features, I even said it should never be used as a selling point or have the game based around those old features. All I said was it'd be nice to have them. But there's a difference between the elements like ice and fire in luigi's mansion, which are a fairly small part of the game, and literally everything that builds the game. *The atmosphere, graphics, ghost, Luigi, soundtrack, the humming, etc you've heard me say this a million times.* When you remove VITAL parts of what made the game what it was, then replace it with different things, that's the issue. You wouldn't replace cheese on pizza with dirt. Not saying DM is dirt, just the first thing to come to mind. You see, I'd be like the smash community right now if Smash Ultimate was still a fighting game, but took on a dark and, again, photorealistic art style and replaced every stage with with unsettling areas, changed the entire atmosphere of the game into gritty technical showcase for the Nintendo Switch, and forced you to go back to the menu every five minutes of playing. You see what I'm getting at? When you change the entirety of what makes up a game, then fans of the original will get furious. I'm nothing like the smash community, and if you actually read what I said you'd know that. By the way, if I have nostalgia for anything Luigi's Mansion, it's Dark Moon. I got it on easter with my cousins there. I was so excited, I loved the game. Still do. For very different reasons than the original though. Just liked to point that out, since you're clearly obsessed with calling nostalgia on others. "And from what I have seen so far this game has already much more charme than the original" You still don't get it. Yes, it has it's own charm. But it's a DIFFERENT charm. You can't replace a golden apple with a purple one and call it the same thing. Both games have their own charm. Or, for your ape brain, here: "ooga booga, both game, different charm, ooga." "They really went all out when it comes down to creativity and that is what the majority wants." I agree! There, something we agree on. That's clearly rare. This was a great move on their part, but that doesn't mean I'll stop wanting a proper sequel some day. Or a proper HD remake at least. Ignoring the 3ds remake because that disappointed every bone in my body when I realized it was for the 3ds. Sorry, but there's a HUGE difference between "dickriding their predecessors" and staying true to the original. You clearly are incapable of understand that. If what you got out of his message was that he wanted a "reimagining of the first game", then I'm sorry, how stupid are you? Did you even READ what he said? Did you just look at "I hope it's more like the first game" and say "nostalgia"? All his points were pointed towards the game staying true to the original. Not being the original. It's like having a child. If it's your child in blood, he will have adopted traits from both it's parents. However if it's adopted, then it most likely won't have any traits of yours. In this case, DM is the adopted child of LM. But just because the child is adopted doesn't mean it doesn't deserve love. Hopefully you'll actually read what I've said today. You and me listening to Dark Moon's soundtrack has got me wanting to play it again. If you don't mind, I'm gonna go look for my 3ds charger. As Luigi would say after talking to E. Gadd for the 147th time in Dark Moon, Chao!
I kinda hope in the final game you're forced to slam side to side rather than being able to continuously slam the same direction, because it would both look cleaner as in the animations since it looks very sloppy slamming the same direction, and it would make it more challenging and strategic I think.
Original still looks to be the best. Had the spookiest theme music and the game itself almost felt like a horror game. This is too cartoony and disney-like. Not terrible, but reminds me of the art style you seen on mobile games. I don't get any spooky vibes.
showsjohn and the spooky spirits, mice, gems, pearls, money, and boos were really fun to collect in that game in this and dark moon have only Bars dollars and coins
@@sleepnaught "I don't get any spooky vibe" you said in a few words what im always struggling to demonstrate in many words on that matter. Thanx. Dark Moon and LM3 have literally no spooky vibe at all.
Hmm .. .. .. Well, I can say that this new luigi's mansion of today has a diferent spookyness to it. It's not a bad thing, but I feel the creepiness of the first one, where the Zelda-esq. Weird and creepy dark vibes just aren't their. I'm cool with that. Just observation. Game looks gorgeous. Cant wait to play 🤠🤙
ha ha poltegust g-00 i get it. if you don't here are the steps. 1. remove the word poltergust entierly. 2. remove the - between the g and 00. 3. change the 00 to oo. 4. put behind the word you have now igi. now you have gooigi. (better to say g00igi.)
A bit disappointed they kept the linear style of Dark Moon. I also just wish the lighting was darker, I mean there isn’t even a point in having a flashlight when you can see everything in the room. Looks good other than that.
Bruh, the original was just as linear as Dark Moon was, Dark Moon just had it as mission based. This game should feel very similar to the original in terms of how you progress since missions are gone.
You're suggesting that the original wasn't linear? You're beyond the reach of help. The OG was a set path and quite linear too and that's objectively true!
Wow the person playing this isn’t very great. Polterpup is even saying what to do. And there are very large button prompts. C’mon guy. Read the screen!
Ugh. I wish it was more like the original. This should be some great fun though, I loved dark moon.. it was for completely different reasons though. I'll miss the creepy atmosphere of the original.
im sorry but i think this game looks terrible and awful and i hate it. they took everything good about the first 2 and threw it off a fucking cliff with this game.
