Thank you♡ from one nurse to another, who just found that same swollen, painful node. Yes, as a nurse I know now that I must get to the doctor. Thank you for your bravery in sharing your story. Stay Strong!
Thank you so much. I have RA. I’m going to call my rheumatologist tomorrow. My lump is exactly where yours is. Prayers for you for sure. We’ll see what my RA doc say. Blessings to you!
I will be sure to check him out. Wishing you all the support in the world as you near finish up your chemo. It's nice to meet such nice people during such a rough time :)
He is going for the six biopsy. The lymph are growing! We are worried! How are you? How is everything? Please, let us know! I pray for your recovery!!!!! Get well! Be safe!!!!
Thank you for posting this. I have had a lump since January and my doctor just ordered a mammogram, ultrasound, chest X-ray and blood work. I am freaking out!
Beautifully put video. You seem a lovely lady and i hope you are doing well. Im a nurse too.. and have recently found a lump on my neck. Awaiting CT Scan and aware could be lymphoma. As a nurse you know how our minds work! Best Wishes x
You are so pretty!!! Very informative video, thank you so much, prayers that you feel better very soon dear, I just had been told that my liver has tumors.
Thanks for your story it really does make a difference! I had melanoma two years ago really bad on my back in three areas. Largest was 7” oval they cut out, I think 1-1/2” deep on the waist line. Itched all the time but never had a second thought because I couldn’t see it. Two lymph nodes removed from right armpit and two from groin- one on each side. Nodes were clear but would like to give credit to God as I prayed hard the day before surgery. Reason for leaving a comment is to thank you for sharing but mostly was hoping someone would chime in to add a suggestion. I know the listing is 8 years ago but was led to do this. After surgery I recovered quickly and was back working doing physical stuff around the yard. January was surgery February was starting to be more physical then a mountain of symptoms: always cold, night sweats, left hand shaking, very weak, always tired- mostly napping most of the day, cognitive issues, very forgetful, stomach and chest pain, body pain all over, when bending over to put on shoes or pet an animal I have trouble catching my breath, hissing 24/7 in left ear, frequent headaches, lump in neck ( 3 doctors didn’t notice it but said it was fine). Been to emergency for 9 hrs with everything they could test including blood - perfectly healthy all normal. This was July 2020. Still having all symptoms BUT... now my throat is sore where lump is, hurts to swallow, ear pain when swallowing on same side, jaw pain just started on same side. Throat has been sore for 3 weeks now. Went to dentist last week and took antibiotics before that to have wisdom tooth removed that was impacted on opposite side of lump. Just went to the doctor - did blood work of everything now blood results are all over in bad range. Waiting to get another scan. Scheduled neurologist since they take a while to schedule. Lump on neck is size of filbert nut and is hard not soft. Any suggestions. Never smoked or did drugs. I don’t drink, I eat healthy- I am now overweight but not fat. Lot of muscle mass. I am always positive, not an angry person, spiritual, outgoing, not stressed or depressed just looking for suggestions and thoughts even an answer if you got on. 😊🙏❤️ Many blessings, Gary
thanks for the encouragement! and I'm so glad you are doing so well! God is good :) I'll keep on fighting this thing. looking for a better Dr right now! wish me luck :)
I am an RN too! Oh my journey was crazy as I knew with my mammogram she found something! I really knew when chatty Kathy sonogram tech got really quiet! LOL! So many stories! I ended up with double mastectomy and 19 bad lymph nodes. Thanks for making me laugh! We nurses are so bad!! Praying for you!!
We are the worst but in the best way. We care deeply and have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Hope you are recovering well and looking after yourself.
Thank you for sharing. Gp initially diagnosed viral meningitis 3 months ago for stiff neck, headaches, earaches etc. referred to neurology and waiting on CT scan. I have constantly mentioned swollen nodes in head and neck. Now getting cough and breathing issues and thank you for describing the tiredness, I had mono years ago and am now wanting to sleep as soon as I wake up just like when I had mono. Wishing you and everyone here a speedy recovery. Waiting on results and now another gp appointment to check the dry cough
It's really hard not to freak out. Trust me on that. But good on you for checking it out. Also I always figure it's better to be prepared than to be surprised. Fingers crossed :)
Thank you for your video! Takes a lot of strength and courage to put yourself out there like this. I'm going through some stuff with the VA Hospital, and have been since 2013. Started with getting swollen lymph nodes all over my body.. (they're still there, haven't gone down in size.. pea sized to nickle sized). I had a lymph node biopsy in the summer of 2013. I didn't know i had swelling in my armpits too, so they took from there. It came back negative for lymphoma... I got tested for everything else since then.. all types of blood tests for all those rare diseases lol... I have had very low platelets (below normal.. around 110k roughly.. also i had a swollen spleen, which comes back every couple months... I'm not sure what it could be. I used to be a medic in the Navy, so i try to self diagnose.. i'm thinking it could possibly be Leukemia.... but since the lymph node biopsy came back negative 2 years ago for cancer... does that mean i definitely don't have leukemia? Just confused.. and doctors immediately thought that i merely had mono... (which i don't) Anywho!
@@JohnDoe-hz4wd ah man, poor mom. Well my wishes of well being go out to your and all your loved ones. Such a terrible thing it is to deal with but one can only do so much. I got swollen nodes in my neck had them for a year now ultrasound supposedly showed nothing last year ima go back to a ent this time and find out what’s up hopefully. I praise anyone who has to deal with these things. Love bro 🙏
great video! It seems that all the things I want to get results for come around on holidays...lol I know that google and RU-vid have helped me tremendously and I thank you for documenting what is going on with you. please keep in touch and I am looking forward to seeing your next video:)
Hope you are doing better. I'm a guy, 49 that had it in 1986. Treated much different back then. Spleen and many lymph nodes removed, full mantle cobalt radiation. The long term effects of that has been crazy. Thyroid was destroyed, heart and lung issues galore, 11 stents and 5 bypass, lots of fatigue, etc. what they do these days is so much more gentle. It's sucks having the diagnosis but a long life is very possible. Hopefully they will get everything cured and wish you a long life.
john lepkowski Wow! That sounds tremendously challenging but I must say you have provided me with so much hope. You've been through a lot and your attitude is very encouraging. Amazing as time goes on how treatments change. I too wish you good health and a long life. Xo
yes GPs make you feel crazy when you ask for help about lumps bumps and pains. ironic right. ok i have lumps on my hands , neck , and groin . ive dropped 2 stone since August i trained for 18 months prior and stayed the same weight . ive had a lot of stress but this pain is beyond its 24/7 with holistic care , stretches, oils , now im taking 8 paracetamol a day and still pain . i was diagnosed last year of BRCA2 after losing my Mum to young to cancer. i have been to GP and A&E and theyve offered me pills for depression not so much as blood pressure examination. im so scared and angry right now thanks for sharing xx as i type the pain in my neck is so tence i cant sleep at night or rest my head comfortably. tomo i am demanding answers my son and dog need me x
This was extremely helpful as I'm waiting on my biopsy results after a few months of being bounced around doctors so this really puts me at ease and confirms I'm not crazy! Hope all is well :)
thank you for your story I had testicular cancer and haven't done any treatment except surgery, I now have an enlarged swollen and a little sore lymph node on the right side of my neck. I had it looked at by a neck doctor and he said that he thinks its not cancer. however gave me the choice to do a biopsy or not so I took his advice and said no. ct scans are all positive and ill be going In to see my doctor in about a month and have blood tested for markers again. ill say a prayer for you!
Chelsea Burnell I missed my tumor marker tests for this check up but the bump on my neck hasn't gotten any bigger and there's no pain. my doctor looked at it again and says that he believes its nothing related to cancer, and everything seems to be going well :) thank you for asking is everything going well with you?
Hello! i just saw your story. Glad to see your doing better!! So I feel like i am in a similar situation. I had mono about two years ago. I currently have a cold, stuffy nose and all that. But i was putting vicks rub on my chest and noticed my left collar bone is enlarged, it is the inner part. It is not painful, just swollen. Im thinking about getting it looked at i am not really sure. But i totally have been googling and freaking out.
I know you posted these a long time ago. But had to say thank you. I am also an RN and have a couple of pea sized left supraclavicular masses. I too am freaking out!! No weight loss but much fatique. Waiting for an ultrasound in a few days and already have myself dead and buried LOL. Well, hoping for the best and cant say enough how comforting your videos are! Thanks again!
I am so glad they brought you comfort and I totally get that you have yourself dead and gone in your mind but please in your heart stay strong. I am doing well and have gone on to have a baby, he's 1.5 years now. I have been meaning forever to do an update but I do still suffer from fatigue so I respect that and rest when needed, which is always when you are pregnant and then with a toddler hahaha. Keep me updated and really hope it's nothing but glad you are gathering your information. Being a nurse is such a beautiful job but terrible for your own mental health when something physical happens.
@@ChelseaBurnell Thank you so much for your reply. I'm so pleased to hear you are doing so well and are a Mom! My first 2 grandbabies are due in the fall and I really want to be around to enjoy them! Either way, I got this! Thanks again for sharing and I will shoot ya a quick update when I know more. 👍😁
Thank you for sharing! Ive got huge lymph nodes under my armpit they did ultrasounds, mamogram, bloodtest & a needle biopsy going to do my open biopsy tomorrow Im so worried hope you get better soon thats exactly how I felt I knew something wasnt right
hello there thank u for the video for me these type of videos were important for me more than talking with my doctors iam a non hodjkin's lymphoma survivor , this is type of cancer is easy to beat it in it's early stage , so if u or anyone have a mass diagonsed as enlarge lymph node and it didn't return to it's normal size with medications u should remove and analyse it even u were in good health and ur health and blood remarkables were perfect , don't waste ur time plz
Hello Maged, I suppose in your case it didn't show any symptoms other than the persistent lymph node and you were able to detect it in its early stages?
Sorry for your diagnosis. I have a second CT scan in the morning for swollen lymph nodes in my messentry near my small intestine. For the last few months I have been really tired and some night sweats and now headaches and dry cough. Still waiting on a biopsy.
Thank you ! I am with my lymph nodes enlarged since October. I have fatigue and my brain gets foggy sometimes, like I forget words and stuff like that. I did a needle biopsy and it came out with abnormal cells and last week I had a surgical biopsy. I am here waiting on the results. My doctor told my husband after the surgery that the 2 nodes he removed were not as big as he thought but my salivary glands were swollen. I am sure something is wrong with me. But he said I look too healthy and he is expecting the best.
My lump looks like this and I see my doctor tomorrow. Thank you so much for this video. I hope they don't gaslight me. I went last week with swallowing difficulties, itching fatigue etc and was told it was long covid. I was too scared to bring up the lump because he was dismissive. Getting a second opinion. Feel so stupid for not bringing it up.
Never ever feel stupid, you were overwhelmed not stupid. You are getting it looked at now and hoping for good news for you. It's so scary to have to even think about it. The symptoms are "vague" at the time as you slowly experience them but together with a lump it forces you to take it more seriously. Really glad you are. 🙂
My husband just found out that he has lymphoma. We are praying that it's not too bad. He lymph nodes in his bowels are swollen he was in so much. We have to see a oncologist next week so they can do another biopsy to see what form of lymphoma he has and what is the best way to treat it. Thanks for the post.
Thanks for sharing! I'm in the process of finding out whether I have some type of lymphoma or leukemia. The lymph nodes in my neck on the right are swollen among many other symptoms. Your video calmed me down a bit. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this Chelsea! The upper right side of my neck has been swollen for a while and I'm getting "pins and needles" down my right arm and hand. Because of the pain when I moved my neck to the right, I thought it was a pinched nerve
I'm sorry you're going through this. I had Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2008 and after chemo and radiation, I am in remission. I then had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2016. Again, after chemo, I'm in remission. I wish you well.
Thank you for sharing Chelsea - you may have just saved my life. After watching this (and being concerned about my night sweats and 40 pound weight loss with exhaustion) I went to the doctor to be told my lymph nodes and spleen are swollen and got blood work and a chest x-ray. Next will be the biopsy. Please let us know how you are doing, as I noticed this was posted a year ago. Thank you again!
Staci, you may have saved yourself by seeking out the information you needed. I'm so pleased I was able to be there to help, it's why I have done these videos. The medical world is so overwhelming and when dealing with this you need to know and be able to question and advocate for your self and potential treatment. I'll be doing a video soon on my one year post chemo. Please let me know how you get on. Thinking happy thoughts for you. Chelsea xoxo
I have a node in my left neck swollen and had a mammogram today so waiting to see how that fares. I'm being referred to an ENT as well... hate this waiting!
Thanks so much for this and hope you're well.I've found a hard painless lump node on neck. No other symptoms but do have other medical issues that are thought to be controlled. Going to go Dr. Just wondering and worrying.
Just came across your video. Hoping you are doing well. My doc just discovered my left clavicle lymphnode is large and very tender. I have had a 101 fever for a month, along with severe flushing and fatigue. Having ct scan next Thursday. Did you have yours removed and biopsy ? Did you have coughing with your's
I have a hard lump below my left ear near the top of my jar line. It's hard fixed and immobile. Painless it just feels like pressure and numbness on my neck and face. When moving my head it feels like I have something attached to my neck. The lump is larger than a grape under the skin. I went for an ultrasound the lump was diagnosed as a swollen lymph node. Months after I went to the ENT again diagnosed as a swollen lymph node. No investigations or tests wore offered at that time by the ENT. The lump is still there hasn't decreased in size. The doctors won't even check for any changes from that time period. It's been over a year now. I have had other symptoms along the way, but I don't know where else to go to get a second opinion. Recently I have had a much smaller node appear on the left side of my neck.
Awaiting a ct with contrast result on Tuesday thanks for sharing your story All my friends tell me I’m crazy and don’t worry you don’t have cancer but swollen lymph nodes in four areas of my body primarily the left side since October 2018 I don’t know praying! Not sure how recent this video is but I’ll look to see if you have a update hope everything has turned out well or is getting better for you!
Have you had any other symptoms to go along with your swollen nodes? Waiting for results is the hardest part. You want Tuesday to come fast enough so you don't have to fret each day but you'd almost like it to stay Monday in case it's news you don't want. Keep me updated and nothing but happy thoughts on Tuesday.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and time you took replying. I had a lymph node biopsy on Friday and surgeon removed four lymph nodes in the groin. Now the waiting begins. Will find out in one week - Monday, October 4. Here's a weird question for you - did you notice (or in hind-sight realize) that your taste buds were affected? All my favorite drinks and some of my fav. foods all taste different. I have always been a sweet-iced-tea gal (yes, I;m from the South) but lately my tea tastes weird. Did you experience this?? Looking forward to your follow-up Chelsea, and thanks again!!
Ms. Staci, I found a lymph in my groin area about 6 months ago, it has become inlarged and discolored. My physician recommended removal and a biopsy. Any words of wisdom?
I would have it removed - my nodes were enlarged and discolored, but biopsy found it was because of my hip Implant ( I had to have a new hip joint five years ago) - they found fragments of metal in my lymph nodes - seems my body is trying to rid itself of the "foreign object" - no signs of lymphoma! YEAH!!
I just ran across this video. I have the SAME swelling and only on one side just like yours. My PCP had test ordered for it but my insurance stated it was not deemed suspicious for a tumor therefore they’re not covering the CT san. I’ve had it for a while now. Probably a few months (more like close to a year) before or after being diagnosed with Sjogren’s and Lupus. Now my white cell blood count keeps dropping (reading low) with each blood work testing. I was recently referred to a hematologists. He done bloodwork and God willing I see him on today. I’ll will send up a special prayer for you and I’d like to know how you’re doing. Thank you for sharing your journey.🙏🏾🥰💞
@@Kim-ss5bb Thank you so much for asking, but I’m fine. Eventually I got all the testing I needed and everything thus far came out fine. Trust me, I don’t need any more diagnosis because along with everything else I also have RA and lymphedema. They’re also discussing installing a Tense Unit thangy in my lower back due to my back pain and not being able to walk some days due to it. To look at me, you wouldn’t know because it’s not the world’s problem that I’m in excruciating pain 85% of the time. So I smile and greet people with the nicest greeting because who knows, they might be going through the same thing or worse and I pray that at least my greeting them in the manner would make a difference in their day. Enough about me; how are you doing? I pray all is well and that you are in better health. Again, thank you so much for asking for a follow up.🙏🏾🥰💞
Thank you for the info. I recently discovered swelling on my right side collar bone and a swelling under my left collar bone. I have no medical insurance. Am hoping my disability goes through as I no longer work due to other health conditions. I just also got out of a relationship with a narcissist so my life is a bit hard right now. My dad has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and I'M be inherited most of his health issues. So Im worried and waiting for something good to happen so I can go see a Dr. Trying not to freak out. 🙁🙂
I've been very tired, no energy, night sweats and fatigue. I found a "bump" in the groin area. Several years ago I had MRSA in about the same area, so I decided to go,and see if it was staph, before I started clinical's (currently in nursing school). Well, first of all my BP is elevated, which is NOT normal for me and when examined, the Dr's dx is surgery to have it removed and/or biopsy. I see the surgeon on Thursday. Any advice?
Thank you for saying they thought you had mono. I haven't seen anyone say anything like that, and that's what my doctor said and my parents wouldn't believe me and wouldn't listen when I got more and when i got a rash. The techs for my ultrasounds were surprised by how many I had. So I don't know what to do :(
Thank you for sharing this. I know the scared state you were in when you weren't getting answers. I'm glad you showed this because it is very hard to be looking at pictures and diagrams online & guessing just what size is abnormal... and by Google's auto-complete guesses you can tell these things are very commonly searched for. I'm sorry for your unfortunate news. I don't know a lot about lymphoma yet, but I really hope you have the best outcome possible with treatment options & support.
My lymph node under my left jaw has gotten massive 5cm or so. They just did the ultrasound guided biopsy and took two core samples. Now I wait for the results. You're right, they don't say anything to you. The color drains out of the nurses and staff and the refer you to the next steps. My grandmother died of Hodgkin's so I suppose it's in the genes. Good luck to you on your journey.
I have a lymph node that has been swollen for 1 yr behind my ear. Dr said it would go away after a couple weeks, now a few days ago I noticed I have another. This time on the bottom side of back of my head. I don't know what to do.
I am going for an axillary lymph node biopsy tomorrow. I found a mass under my left axilla a day after getting a pneumovax immunization. I watched it for about 10 days then tried a trial of Keflex. No results. Called my PCP who ordered an ultrasound. Multiple enlarged lymph nodes. I saw a surgeon 2 days ago. We’ll see...
hi chelsea.i have lymphoma newly diagnosed.asking for medical opinion here(italy) is quite difficult. im having cough and fever and night sweats...how can you manage that sign and symptoms?after removing a large lymphnode on my collar bone there still nodes that are palpable....does chemo will make it smaller?i havent started my chemo im waiting for my PET result.thanks for sharing your story....
Interesting that you had mono 5 years earlier as 40% of lymphoma cases are linked to prior EBV infection, I've seen a study that stated a mean onset of 4 years after EBV infection. Of course most people have had EBV in their life and don't get lymphoma though. I hope you are doing okay, you have a lovely character.
I am going through a pre diagnosis nightmare. I have several lymph nodes one side of neck that puff up and swell and then go away and come back. No one will take me seriously and I understand lymphoma is the least likely explanation. But.......... I know something is seriously wrong and they swell for no apparent reason. Also one in my armpit that has stayed swollen for almost 4 months now for no reason. Any advice on how to get them to order the biopsy?!?! This has been going on for too long already.
Thank you for this video and I wish you all the best of health in the future. I have had a very tiny ball under the skin of my armpit now for around a year or so. Recently I have noticed that it has grown to about the size of a pea. It does not hurt and I cant move it. I can squeeze it and really it just feels like a little hard ball. I do have a dr apt in a week, but to be honest I wish it was tomorrow. Do you think I am worrying over nothing or actually have a reason to be a little concerned. If anyone has experienced anything like this please tell me your story. thanks so much
Coco, you are doing the right thing getting it checked out. If it ends up being nothing, well then great you can move on. If you never had it checked out and it was something more pressing, you'd be kicking yourself. Always trust your gut instincts as I see you are doing. I sometimes think our "worry" is just our gut instincts in action, go with it. Let me know how it all goes :)
Thank you so much for writing me back. Right now it is the fear of the unknown that is scary....I will keep you posted....thanks again, good luck with you and your own health, thoughts and prayers xo
