I think you get the worst of both worlds with the M60. It's not good up close and lacks the rate of fire of the SAW. Meanwhile, it's not as good as a base of fire weapon as the M240B. That pretty much sums up it's real world performance and why it was dropped. Now US subject states are using it to keep the money coming in. For a GPMG I would still pick the PKM. Funnily enough I like using the Galil for an up close MG. I seem to be an outlier when it comes to the Galil though.
Fun fact, the E6 variant of the M60 is leagues better than previous models, and is even the standard GPMG for either Denmark or the Netherlands (I can't remember which), and its also the variant we see in game (It's misnamed)
The greatest benefit with the M60’s lighter weight and cost is that on high-credit modes you can roll in with Heavy Armor and Heavy Carrier like a juggernaut with extra credits to spare to have a good sidearm without surpassing the 100% weight limit (bonus if you run builds like this with the Tactician gear and Mandible helmet to look like the badass this thing turns you too).
You have an awesome idea for a channel. Mixing both historical context of firearms while also analyzing them in game. It's such a good premise that I can't believe other people haven't really done it yet. Do some stuff for COD and you'll blow up like the Hindenburg.
I would try Ahoy, as his work inspired much of this channel but he hasn't done historical / gun content in years and rarely uploads anything but hour length documentaries anymore
The channel Ahoy does this, and is probably the most popular channel to do so. I'm glad Snipes does because Ahoy doesn't upload much anymore, but he was the OG and the best.
God damn I love this series. Wish NWI would release a new gun every week so you could do more of these. I like the MW ones, but something about insurgency just gets to me. Love this fucking game
Just to save a few people the confusion: 8mm Mauser is 7.92x57mm, and 7.62 NATO is 7.62x51mm Good video though Sick Snipes; I love the M-60 so far, a bit better than the 240. When it comes to high ROF, accurate fire though, nothing beats the SAW with an ACOG set up in a window Edit: I actually disagree on the recoil grip/run-and-gun bit to some degree; me and my buddy do it quite a bit when we play and we slaughter. It definitely takes some adaptation due to the aim speed and reload time (on THAT I definitely agree) but overall its a terrifying close to mid-range room eraser
I couldn't agree more.👍 It's not good at range, but in close quarters, an M60 with extended belt, recoil grip, and compensater shreds like freaking Rambo!
nah you're right. not even the first time I've said it wrong. Said it in the TAVOR vid too. No idea why. Just so confusing with like 2 or 3 different 7.62 rounds out there.
If you need CQC LMG for security on Push/similar modes that limit the guns --> galil all the way, its light, fast bullet vel (900m/s +), better recoil control and have better attachments overall. If you need something on domination: MG3 shreds on hipfire (1000 rpm + decent bullet vel) + bipod (only LMG with this combo: x7 scope + suppressor) and you have the best of both worlds, M249 if you want more bullets and will camp the whole match, otherwise M60 is just another weapon to new players to test, it can be challeging but that's it. If you want to compare 7.62 M240B... the meta on Sandstorm basically is holding power positions and camp mostly so you can get more with M240B than M60, you get penalized getting any grip and bipods are waaaay OP in this game.
Now you mentioned not having a portable weapon like the MG42 but heat about the M1919? I think it was moreso about trying to get the amount of firepower in a smaller amount of weight.
Hold up, my understanding is that the M60 was loved by it's user for DECADES. The later users of the guns are the people that took issue with it were later use that, by that time had worn out gun (remember, the M60 is a MACHINE GUN, much higher duty cycle than an assault rifle or something). The M240 was "better" than the M60 during testing because the testers did not replace parts at the end of their normal life cycle IN THE M60, but the XM240 started to rip rivets out of it's receiver (IE rip the main body of the gun apart) before the end of the test as well. In other words, the Army wanted a new gun, but didn't care if it was a BETTER gun. (Can somebody say M8?)
Hi everyone - I own the game ono PC and PS4 but I can not seem to get the microphone to work in either of the games... in other games the headset works but not on insurgent... is there a setting I am missing / am unaware off?
So are you continuing to do content on COD? Or any other games? I love Sandstorm content, especially about my favourite machine gun ever, and i also have noticed that the COD videos didnt do too well in terms of views, but your content is too good to just stick to one game and you know it.
COD vids actually did exceptionally well. Virtually every vid past the FTAC Gun Guide hit number 1 in views over time charts. And yeah I'm gonna do more COD
Is it a bug that I can't use the bipod when attaching a grip on the M60? The same thing happens on the rpk too. Edit: it's not a bug and it makes no sense that we aren't able to use both.
The game only ahs the E4? I swear I read the patch notes said E6. That gun your holding certainly looks like an E6. The E6 is an even more pimped, improved and lighter version of the 60. Denmark even adopted it over the 240.
Hey @sicks snipes I don't comment often I figured I'd let you know not to correct you the original M60 prototypes were based on the FG42 flipped upside down so could feed
