Mac OBS Setup for streaming with computer audio 2020

Seriously one of the most helpful videos I could find on this. Especially the creative bits at the end. Fun fact, If you have a multiple input interface, OBS can only "hear" the first 2 inputs. Make sure you are in one or two for you microphone. I was in four and rewatched the first part of this video like 7 times to see what I was missing. Once I did an online search, I figured out the issue and everything that he has said here was absolutely correct. I am up and running. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Thanks for the detailed info. very helpful. How would you recommend testing if everything works ok prior to a live stream? I have been using the start recording button in OBS and doing a test recording, my question is I guess, is what you've recorded the same as what people will hear on the live stream?

Just when you think things are going against you... I've been building my stream up slowly and finally got to the audio (Don't ask me why i didn't get to it sooner). Everything started to go wrong and there seems to be no help for us, mac users, online when it comes to stuff. On top of this, I've just invested in the Bluetooth sound sticks from Harman Kardon and they we're causing me any amount of headache - echo in calls, drop in sound from program to program - you name it. I was ready to through this out the window UNTIL TODAY! - I've spent hours searching for a way to send my samples from the Stream Deck to recordings and live. You, my friend we're officially my last search of the day. WHAT A LIFESAVER! - Absolute legend of a man! - This little trick has aligned EVERYTHING! AMAZING. Sorry for the long reply but can't thank you enough for this. My streaming days we're down to minutes! - Shameless plug twitch stevedisconewsome - thanks again mate!

I tried to do this and the mic nor the screen worked :( when I did the stuff for the mic it just didn't show up and when I did the screen it just said no properties avalable

When I go to the sounds settings, I do not see the Multi-Output Device I create in the list. I'm on macOS Catalina.

When I set the output in Audio to Streaming (multi-output), I lose the ability to hear what you are saying on the RU-vid video - any ideas on how to monitor audio while you are streaming?

biggest mistake was getting a mac in the first place. everything was so plug and play with pc and even easily customizable.... not impressed with mac and this purchase

Before this video, I saw at least 4 more in which I was looking to include the internal sound of the computer. During this video I discovered that I had to turn up the volume of iShowU Capture Audio in the input tab. Everything else was as you had said but that was what made the difference. Massively helpful - thanks. Maybe worth pointing out for those who are working with only one screen: you'll have to use Window capture rather than Display capture. (And on Mac that means you have to give OBS permission to control your computer in Security settings.)
