I always wondered what that wide toed foot was for, it's called "an open toed foot" . You've made applique so easy for me that I will have to do some after Christmas !! GREAT VIDEO!! easy to follow. The written notes on the paper were very helpful. I have to SEE it done, HEAR it , and read it myself. I'm going to TRY to make my great niece and nephew that are coming in 6 and 9 months , each a Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Bill or Sam quilt. The great niece n nephew are from different moms of course. I was SO WORRIED about this applique thing!! I've got a LOVELY quilt someone made me with a big girl with a parasol on it. LOTS of embroidery on it. BUT, the edges of the material are raveling a bit. They didn't have the glue paper back when mine was made. Does the glue paper keep the edges from raveling?? I've seen people fold an edge over onto the glue paper in other videos. You had some REALLY great ideas on this video. Gonna try some before the BIG quilt. Thanks for a great video.

Hi Susie. I always use a sewing machine applique stitch to keep the edges down. The applique stitches will prevent the edges from unraveling. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍

Love this applique lesson! I am having a hard time with finding the right fusible web to use. Can you please share the name of the product you use? There are so many fusible webbings that I am not certain which one to buy. Thank you so much, and thank you for teaching us!

And is the sheets what you are using? I'm in the process of ordering it online so I want to make sure I get the right product. Thanks again!

Hi Dianah. Fusible web is used for machine applique. Fusible interfacing is used to add strength and sometime stiffness to fabric (i.e., collars and shirt cuffs). The fusible web used for machine applique keeps the applique in place while doing the applique stitches. Hope this helped. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

Sherrill / I bought some pellon Fusible Midweight interfacing does it got glue on both sides and I'm trying to fine your video on how to use it on applique

Hi Anna. Look on the back of the package. It will give you step by step instructions on how to use it. I'm not sure if you are asking if yours has glue on both sides. It it does, then apply it as you see demonstrated in this tutorial. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍

The first problem I have is the use of the word pressure foot . It’s not called a pressure foot, it’s presser foot, the foot presses to the materials not pressure as in ironing , you wouldn’t say that your going to pressure your clothes , you would say, I’m going to press my clothes....
