I had the exact same issues as you (just died and i put a new spark and cleaned the carb which got it running but doesnt want to give gas) and i put on all stock cvt parts and still nothing. Its not stuck in high gear but it had all the same signs as yours. What could it be?
Mine was 100% stuck in high gear. Variator came apart and rollers were sideways holding it in high gear. Put it all back and it runs perfect again. Check this. Lift your rear wheel and see if it spins freely. We just had one lose a rear gear bearing. The wheel hub tilted and dragged against the gearbox and same symptoms. Dragged the motor down.
@@GhettoWrench Ive checked the tire and it was not spinning freely although after removing the brake which was holding it constantly it ran similarly. It reaches rpm limit but after holding it there it lowers to below 7k. This issue has stumped me completely. Any other ideas as what it could be before i send it to a mechanic and spend a good chunk of money on it?
@cokie1348 ok so remove the wheel and then remove the hub. The single big nut. Is it a Gen 4 or 5? Look for wear between the hub and the area of engine or CVT case where it attaches
Yes. The mounting stud holes are both 45mm apart and same size. Only dif is the intake hole on stock 50 is like 16mm and 150 is around 23mm. The performance intakes will have bigger intake holes. A stock 150 intake manifold would be a "performance" intake on the 50.
