Maestro is Slightly Flawed 

Thank you for your review. I agree. I wanted to thoroughly enjoy the film, but instead I just appreciated it. It did seem a bit choppy and contrived. The film focused on Bernstein's relationships, but the camera work and the choppy rhythm kept us emotionally at a distance. I might watch it again to see if I can get more engaged the second time.
