Hey Justin, thanks for stopping by and checking out the video. I will be testing Magnatrack’s latest product as soon as it arrives, it’s a hihat controller that promise’s to track well. And also their ride cymbal bell trigger. Thanks again.

Hi Sal :) I'm happy to watch this videos. They encourage me to keep on my drumming journey. Very inspiring, 'cause I'm learning more about acustic to electronic drum kits conversion. I've got tinnitus because of playing drums without earing protection for some years, during my early years of drumming. With electronic drum kits, I can turn down the volume, without damaging my ears. I can reach the same safety effect with earing protection while playing acustic kits, but electronic kits make more sense, since I can listen to the actual sound of the drums (unless I'm playing the kit microphoned with appropriate isolated headphones, listening the drums through them, something I cannot do in my apartment ). Thank you, I'll keep watching your videos 🙏 God Bless You, God Bless Us All :) Peace & Love ☮ & ❤

Hey Sal, great video. I must have missed your conversion of the whole drum set, I see real sized shells as well. I remember you always talked about doing it. Looks very nice though. I fully agree on the feel, it’s such a difference because also the distances between the shells are the same then. The volume of these pretty much match my Jobeky ones. It’s noticeable, but of course significantly quieter than acoustic ones.

I’ve been using Roland V-Drum TD 12 and TD 20 modules for over 10 years and so I’m not new to configuring MIDI modules. Perhaps you are familiar with the Alesis MIDI Trigger I/O and can give me some tips?

Great review Sal! Thanks for putting the time into sharing this with us. The cymbals look amazing. Any issues at all with cross-talk between the 2 ride triggers or do they perform just like any other dual/triple zone cymbal?

Quite a bit of time and effort goes into tweaking settings and trigger parameters in the drum module, which for me is the Roland TD-12 module to eliminate crosstalk and get the most efficient triggering. Thanks for viewing the video.

Just viewed this today and was impressed with what I saw. Went to visit the website with the intention to purchase one of their triggered 18" China Cymbals. Had a question about delivery times but found that they offer no means to contact them other than their customer support form. No phone number.. No email address.. Nothing! Always leery about dealing with a company that offers no way to contact them. I wonder if there are any alternatives..

Since the church already purchased low volume cymbals Buddy ordered triggers from Magnatrack and will need to be installed. The advantage with these cymbals I reviewed here is that they are pretriggered and are made of a better material than the ones at the church.

Excellent demo sal. Nice to see an acoustic conversion with a talent like yourself proving its a win win if you need quiet playing with all the benefits sitting on actual drum kit. I’m a big fan. Did you have to fiddle around slot with Td12 settings to get quality sensitivity?

Hi, great set up! I noticed that the Cymbolic Cymbals have rubber around them just like the Pintech Cymbals. Did you have to add the rubber to the cymbals or do that come that way when you order them? And which is better in your opinion the Cymbolic by Magnatrack or the Pintech Cymbals? Thanks for any input! Ed :)
@rhythmantic
@rhythmantic 3 года назад
The rubber rims come with the cymbals. I've never used Pintech cymbals but I know they are rubber. If given the choice between rubber and metal, of course I would go with metal since this is the material used for acoustic cymbals. Thanks for viewing the video.

Hi Sal, i love this. What rubber rims do you have around the cymbals?
@rhythmantic
@rhythmantic 2 года назад
Hello, they come with the rubber rims already on it. But these days they are no longer because they’re really not needed. their purpose was to prevent false triggering. But it’s a material that can be found in auto supply stores - it’s a trim used for car doors. I hope that helps and thanks for watching the video.

Hey Sal, Thanks for this video! Do you have a separate input for bow/edge and the bell on your ride? I just installed 2 triggers on a ride and have an ATV Ad5. I'm not sure if I use the included adapter that sums both triggers into a single cable. It looks like you've bypassed that and just go directly into the separate inputs on your module, is that right? I am wondering if I should add a third magnatrack trigger onto the ride and use the adapter to combine those two for a bow/edge zone and go directly into the bell input with the bell trigger. Do you think that'll work out?
@rhythmantic

How did you set up the ride? I just got it, but I can't make it work. I don't have a drum module, but eDrumIn 10 or a trigger IO and I use SD3. Do you connect both pin jacks with two separate 1/4 trs cables? Or do you use the splitter Magnatrack sent, where you connect the triggers on the cymbal and then it exit with one trs cable only? Thank you

I have 2 separate stereo cables: 1. for the bow going into the Ride input; 2. one for the bell going into the Edge input of the V-Drum TD12 module. I hope that helps. You may have to experiment with trial & error as I did to find what works.
