I was having chest pains and was worried something was going on with my heart(I was taking CoQ10 and magnesium oxide every day, I know, it's poorly absorbed) and on the recommendation of a natural health advocate, I tried taking Magnesium L-Threonate every day and the chest pains started lessening each day until they all but disappeared. The brand I used was Life Extension.
@kurousagi1339
@kurousagi1339 2 месяца назад
Personally tried Magnesium L-Threonate. I’m sure everyone’s body reacts differently to it, but I unfortunately didn’t seem to react positively to it. First time I tried it, I definitely noticed something different within a week. I could only describe it as my mind feeling more numb, dull, and depressed. It was a negative experience. It was the only new supplement I tried at the time, so I stopped taking it and the negative symptoms stopped. Then I tried it again 5 months later (just to be sure). This time I didn’t get negative symptoms as fast, so I kept taking it. But eventually after many months of taking it, the symptoms slowly crept up again. So I stopped taking it again, but it also took longer for the symptoms to go away. Probably because I took it for a longer period of time. I guess magnesium l-threonate really does pass the blood brain barrier. 😅 But I think my brain doesn’t like it so I’m not going to take it anymore.

Magnesium chlorate is the cheapest per mg of magnesium. The brand is irrelevant, it is what it is. It's also very well absorbed and has less of a laxative effect than most other forms.
@rotimi22
@rotimi22 2 месяца назад
That's interesting. I thought Threonate had one of the lowest absorption rates and is used for its ability to cross the blood/brain barrier. I heard there's not much evidence for this either. I'm glad it worked for you though. For others if might be worth trying glycunate or citrate. They are cheaper and have been shown to improve mag levels.

The problem with your high magnesium food list is most of them contain high phytates or high oxalates which block magnesium absorption. I would submit it’s a major reason for the deficiencies. A couple on your list… almonds and spinach are off the oxalate charts.

Small amounts of other foods as a small side or snack…. But main needs to be meat, eggs, fat. Our ancestors would munch on seeds, nuts, roots and small amounts of veggies. Right now, people pound down amazing amounts of veggies and starches. Too depleting on the body and can block other nutrients… plus, not all the purported benefits of veggies are even bio available.
@Jinnyfir
@Jinnyfir 2 месяца назад
I know you don't want foods high in phytates and oxalates, but basil as an herb in cooking or as an extract is very high in magnesium. There's a reason Holy Basil is so popular for stress and aches and some women use it for menstrual cramps, things magnesium is often used to remedy. What I mean to say is, many herbs are exceptionally high in magnesium, dried basil has about 700 mg per 100 grams, and much, much higher than the usual food recommendations (nuts, legumes, etc., roughly 100 mg per 100 grams). Basil is an excellent addition to almost any meat dish, too! But if you don't want to go that route, I highly recommend a brand called Drs. Best. Not too expensive and an effective supplement.
@Jinnyfir

@@Dan0rioNsalmon is one of the highest meat sources of magnesium at about 45 mg per 100 grams. Avocados, nuts, and legumes are much higher, at around 100 mg per 100 grams, but I understand that it's not always absorbed as well as animal sources.

I think our ancestors had access to mostly bodies of water such as rivers and freshwater lakes as well as wells and springs. Especially the latter is loaded with magnesium and is more present in hard water. Today most people are drinking recycled water or RO which is totally void of any minerals. Even people with wells are using water softeners, which removes the minerals. The form of magnesium from springs and wells is also of a smaller size and with an electrical type of charge that causes it to attach to our body’s various was of absorbing magnesium. On top of this loss you have what was described in the video- the lowering of magnesium levels in plants and animals. I definitely think one should supplement. For me that is four different types at 100 mg each.

I think it would be beneficial for you. Tretinoin is known to prevent skin aging and sunspots and red light therapy is also good.
