Mahindra XUV300 vs Tata Nexon vs Ford EcoSport: The sub-4 metre SUV space has never been lacking for options. With popular options like the Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the segment is packed with variety. However, Mahindra decided to shake things up with the XUV300. Taking a different approach by chopping a compact SUV rather than developing a new one for the segment, the XUV300 offers some hot new features and segment-above quality for sub-4 metre SUV money.
However, at its price, it is more aspirational than just value conscious. So for that money is the XUV300 a better sub-4 metre SUV than the Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport or is Mahindra just being very ambitious? We compare the petrol manual variants to find out.

TATA NEXON design is just too good. +the price + NCAPS 5* It is a no brainer for me. The end review was like, Nexon is excellent, Ford is good but buy Mahindra

I think mahindra has priced the top spec variant very well considering all the bells and whistles that are avaliable what spoils the party are the lower variants which are not that well kitted to take on the equally priced brezza and nexon.

@Tushar Kamath Guys, Tushar & Arun has the most unbiased review at the moment on the internet. It's upto us what to be taken away. We simply cannot work out that much due to the shortage of time and availability. They work hard, give attention to details and it shows in their content. Better that the most out there. Fyi, all three cars are great. It actually comes down to what you want from your wheels. Do not criticize if not appreciate. Peace!

The XUV 300 is the most heaviest of all the three, that's why. The mileage, speed, It's torque nature all reflects it's weight.

😂😂😂ever heard of tata sevice 😂😂😂😂it will cost you more tha ecosport .....ecosport has lowest service cost .......so i think most vfm car is ecosport .....and it is also well equipped than nexon ......nexon just gets abs ebd as a safety feature and two air bags that's it no hills assist no brake assist no esp no tcs no vallet parking no esc

Xuv 300 is the best in class for braking and torque...when u ride it u will feel the torque which any other cars can give...sure nexon and ecosport is a family vehicle..whereas the xuv 300 is the drivers vehicle and is the safest vehicle than the both

I think dual zone air conditioning is not that effective as we cannot maintain 2 different temperatures in single confined zone.

You didn't mention which performance mode you used for in-gear timings and efficiency, in tata nexon. I personally think eco mode is downright unusable in terms of power.

U will comprise on features with Nexon. Sanyong Tivoli has also got 5 stars in the Euro Ncap test. Xuv is also the heaviest car than Nexon. Wait for its test results in Global Ncap, it will also get 5 stars. Xuv 300 is a assembled and make in India product, it just shares the platform with Tivoli. Ps. I have booked an XUV 300 and Ik that i have made a right decision.

According to my opinion Mahindra Xuv 300 is the most comfortable and evenly powered. The diesel variant too is very refined and 0-100 kmph comes in 10.5 secs. Pretty fast

How is the long term reliability and service offered by TATA for the Nexon. Is it going to feel good for the first 2 years/30000 kms and make me repent later. Also should I go for the petrol variant or the diesel one? Can you highlight the pros and cons of the two?

Please compare ecosport signature or sports version with w8. For 10 lakhs budget ecosport titanium is the best. Mahindra doesn't give much good features in the middle and lower variants.

1:12 A totally biased video, comparing Xuv300 top model specification with base variant Nexon and Ecosport. I think the guy isn't aware of the 1lit Ecoboost Engine and Signature and Sports model which comes with the sunroof, 17" Inch alloys and lot more.

Only problem with xuv 300 is boot space only 259litres where as nexon 350 litres and ecosport 362 litres.

A very well put together comparo. Not hurried through, well explained. I havent driven either of these in petrol avatar, but only wish Ecosport offered a lil more width. We almost bought the Ecosport diesel, but decided not to because 3 people was a tight squeeze. Since comfort was a priority we chose the WRV. Better space and better driveability. Definitely not fun though.

Nice comparison review Sir. Nice presentation & you were honest & unbiased. But you should have got ecosport s petrol 1.0 ltr ecoboost instead of 1.5 petrol . It would have made comparison even better . Kudos to Mahindra for making such a wonderful product xuv 300. Very good car. This is a petrol comparison but it is High time for ford to improve their power & torque in Diesel engine. Ecoboost engine should me made availlable in signature trim also. Tata nexon is a very good vfm package.

11:00 Common guys. I took test drive of both xuv and EcoSport, interior of XUV is very plasticy where as EcoSport as better fit and finish! But you are saying opposite here! Mahindra sponsored kya? Everyone knows xuv 300 suspension as some issues. No high speed stability. EcoSport feels very well composed in highways!

Main reason i see your presentation is because of your height. Im 6.3 feet and when i see a guy big as this driving these car i actually dont need to do a test drive to know which car will be comfy for me. And why u didnot bring ecoboost engine? Turbo vs turbo will justify everything.

I own an EcoSport Titanium+ diesel and it has been a really good car whether I'm driving it in the city or on the highways. Drove the petrol too but when for the diesel instead because of my usage. (mostly highway driving)

Nexon is good, but it's suv inside and indica outside design is similar to brezza's suv outside alto inside design... Considering the cost they and different technicalities Mahindra is a bit behind ... Considering as an overall package and fun factor eco is the winner...

@@samarwaje8895 Am a proud owner of Tata Hexa XTA, as far as service cost is concerned it cost me RS 700 in total for 3 services till 10k . Features are useless if they can't be used.No doubt Ford ecosport is great.I just mentioned my Preference, Tata is no longer what it was ...my Hexa is rattle free in its 10 k kms, ....Feel Proud of this Iconic Indian brand...

If people want good handling, they can buy a sedan. People buy crossovers for their better ride quality. You need a good sound system in the Nexon to drone out the engine noises and body rattles. And the touchscreen of the Nexon is laggy like a sub-₹10k phone.

Not Jim Carrey bro I am not a hater of xuv i luv both cars but from last 1.5 years i own nexon and approx 20k driven it not a single rattling sound is there and it gives 22 kmpl with ac on highway, there is no noise issues with engine trust me while xuv 300 is way to expensive and not at all worth, dual zone climate control and steering modes are utter waste but 7 airbags are commendable feature considering the price any day people will go for nexon

@@priyamjoshi2667 You must have a Mercedes Nexon then. A nexon belonging to a friend of mine developed electrical problems and body rattles in under 7 months and 9k kms. I have a 2016 XUV500, done 47k kms and the body is still tight. Can't say the same about my friend's 2017 hexa.

Not Jim Carrey lolzz your friend must have driven Nexon as a Wrangler and if u talk about xuv, I like xuv 500 even my 2 friends have xuv but rattling is like rikshaw in xuv every bit rattles and with in 3 days my friend faced issues with xuv's electronics specially music system, still no doubt xuv's engine is solid its pulls like a roket, but when it comes to any TATA car of today no mahindra can match its just up to you may be you don't like tata, I can understand but I luv Mahindra and TATA both. have a nice day.

Only mahindra can offer 4 disc brakes as standard. Both petrol and diesel engines of xuv300 are already the best in the segment. Moreover xuv300 might be the only car which has ability to last for a decade. I am not questioning reliability of ford and tata, but none of their engines is even close to xuv300's when it comes to performance and refinements. It's better to buy a quality product over a vfm looking deal. Xuv300 is not perfect, it has many cons but still manages to be the best in the segment. It is even better than creta and kicks, except for space. Well done mahindra.
