I like making all kinds of wooden boxes and in this video I make a wine box for, uhmm, box wine…. There are a lot of basic woodworking and DIY techniques in this video. I also demonstrate using TrackTubes and the TrackTubes Festool MFT style work tops for a variety of tasks including a glue up using the ClampDogs.

Nice looking box! Loved how you showed the track system and ways it can work in helping with that. The tracks and how the clamps worked in conjunction with them. Simply amazing. Like having a multitude of work benches whenever and wherever needed. Keep kickin' it my friend!

Looks good, buddy! Always great to see the progress on your shop and the progression of Track Tubes with the growing accessories. That box really classes up boxed wine... some foggy memories from my college years coming back when you made that face!!!

Man i just finished building a paulk workbench and now I wanna chuck it after seeing all the track tube vids. Its nice and all but the track tube system looks way more functional and lighter

Very nice! What did you use for wood? Is that Padauk and Maple? If making a lot of these for sale, I'd definitely make a template for the legs and maybe a window or some sort of label area to indicate what 'flavor' was installed (esp. if more than one box is open at once).

Why do you run material through thickness planner on an angle to cutting blades rather than straight through machine?

It can help minimize blade chatter/marks (esp. with straight knives - not so much with helical heads).

@@barnyardkh4 I figured you had a reason! Ashley Kirkland was our only wood shop class teacher. He always wanted straight passes (so much for what he knew!) I can still hear him, "let's get this place cleaned up!" "We don't have all day!"

Hasn't much to do with tooling wear or chatter marks. It helps eliminate snipe. Thanks for watching!
