Thank you so much Wendy, you are very kind! I know how intimidating it was for me when I first started so I’m glad the tutorials are helpful and easy to follow. Don’t worry if you don’t know what you are doing, lol. None of us did when we started! You may also want to check out ‘Little Bits and Pieces’ with Julie Warren. She has great videos that are easy to follow as well. I watched her a lot when I first started! Thanks again and welcome to the channel!

I'm glad you found a glue spreader I got mine in the children's art supplies section. I have just started watching your channel and I was going to send a picture of one to let you know about them. I'm watching from Ireland
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
Hi Claire and welcome to my channel! I’m always so excited to find out where people are joining from! 🇮🇪. I searched high and low for one of those glue spreaders and finally had to order it from Amazon. Finding craft supplies can be a challenge here in Canada!

Most important craft room accessory is a hot cup of coffee! ☕️ But Penny do you recall where you purchased your smaller carpenter’s square ruler? I really like it.
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
Hi Lori, I love this little ruler. It is so handy for getting into those 'tight spots'! I have put a link below for you! a.co/d/ePAkNIX

Hi Penny. Your videos are wonderful. Your homestead house is fabulous. I have a question about the measurements that you have. B (dresser sides) says cut2 2 5/8” x 1 1/2”. 60x38mm but the 60mm is not 2 5/8”. Should the correct measurement be the 60mm or the 2 5/8?

@littlebylittledollhouseminis 11 месяцев назад
Hi lfarren1020, you are right! I rechecked the measurements and it should read 2 3/8”. I have updated the info in the description and thank you for catching that typo! Have a wonderful day!

I am using Basswood. Every time I cut it, no matter what tool I use I never cut it perfectly straight. By the time I get done sanding each piece they are all now of different sizes. How on earth do I cut and sand to keep everything perfectly even, and what do I do when they’re not even correcting them will make them smaller than the project I making?
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
@littlebylittledollhouseminis 2 месяца назад
Hi Bellagabriella! Oh I wish I had the magic answer to your question. I to struggle to cut that would perfectly straight! Try as I might to hold my scalpel straight up and down, I always end up with an edge that is just slightly on an angle. If I have 2 pieces that need to be exact, I will hold them together, as flush as I can, and sand them both at the same time. Clamping them, or holding one side against your table will help. If you find that you are having to sand off too much to get them straight, you could add a small bit extra (maybe 1/2 millimetre) to the measurement, and then sand it down to the right size. You could also use some wood filler to fill up those cracks where the wood isn’t quite square. It is very easy to use and covers up a lot of those issues! I hope that helps!!💚

@bellagabriella1 2 месяца назад
Funny, you said that. I started adding just a fraction extra wood in case I have to sand. I’m still having trouble. I have put the pieces together and tried standing them together. That has helped a bit. Wood filler, I just thought of that last night as I looked at the pieces, I am using to make a bathroom vanity for Barbie and one slat kinda has a dip in the middle of the one edge. So I didn’t know what to do and I got out my gesso and put a little bit on there and let it dry overnight. When I get home, I will see how it dried. I’m sure it will probably need a little more. Then I figured I would just sand it ever so lightly. Thank you so much for responding! I do appreciate it! I just started crafts in August and everything is miniature and, I am having terrible trouble. It’s just not something I am good at but I have one of those 1978 A-frame doll houses and I fell in love with a bathroom set that was done last summer for the Barbie Dreamhouse challenge competition on HGTV. So if you watch that onRU-vid, you will see what the bathroom looks like. I was doing it out of foam and it looked OK. I can’t fit hinges because it’s foam board and they come out when you try to open anything. So I’m starting all over with wood.

@@bellagabriella1 I haven’t seen the program but I will look for it now! I made a fridge in this series out of foam board and used a small strip of fabric to make a hinge. It worked really well and holds together great. I will link the tutorial for you so you can have a look at it. I know it can all be very frustrating when you are just starting out but keep at it! The more you do, the better you will get, so give yourself grace while you learn. I hope this helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XLWS7Fxbllw.htmlsi=Y3P8bpJ-UKA3s7Lf

And what’s the difference between a glue spreader or just using different size paintbrushes?
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
@littlebylittledollhouseminis 2 месяца назад
Great question! I find for larger areas the glue spreader helps to smooth out the amount of glue going onto the wood a little faster. (I always tend to put too much glue and it seeps out everywhere!) I try not to use a paintbrush for glue. It dries and hardens very quickly and makes cleaning the brush very difficult. More often than not, the brush ends up in the trash. While I can’t say I have mastered the glue, I have definitely improved since this video. I now use a glue bottle with a precision tip for a lot of places, and sometimes just using a toothpick is the best option!
@bellagabriella1
@bellagabriella1 2 месяца назад
Yes, I have used a toothpick before. So far there is one specific brush that was very cheap and not very wide that I used to spread glue. I’ve been using it since the beginning last fall and I just wash it with soap and water really good and so far, it always comes off for me whether it’s wood glue, tacky glue, E 6000. I haven’t used it to spread anything else. Are you on Facebook?
