I think so! You need a keyboard to listen to a sound on Malstrom. Although you can simply design notes using the mouse to hear a Malstrom's synthesized sound.

How I see it, ModA modulates the settings of oscA using a waveform. So they add.

space bar, or in whats called the transport you see the rewind and fast forward arrows next to the stop play and record button. press play. or hit F4 to bring up the on screen keyboard (if you don't already have a MIDI Controller) if you can't find which F command to bring it up. go to the top where you see File Edit, etc. go to the one that says Window. and at the bottom of that drop down youll see a menu button for on screen keyboard. so yeah just hit the space bar to trigger the playback of recorded stuff in the sequencer and F4 to bring up and hide the on screen piano :) hope this helps!
