The attack took place Friday night in the parking lot of Tere's Mexican Grill. The victim was talking to two homeless men when one of them attacked the former. CBSLA's Joy Benedict reports.
Nowadays street homeless and are fentanyl addicts, and not capable of doing anything no matter how simple it is. Street encampments are open air drugs markets brewing all sorts of crime. Majority of them will die from fentanyl overdose, or drugs related violence. Second hand fentanyl smoke can easily kill you in no time. Street homeless gradually destroy everything around themselves. If you live in Studio City and are reading this blame your CD4 Council woman Nythia Raman. She along with the mayor, the city attorneys office and a handful of others refuse to take appropriate action.
She is upper class Hollywood (her husband is a screen writer) champion for the homeless, but what about people who pay their mortgage or rent and real estate taxes? The middle class gets squeezed by both parties, Republicans for the top upper class. And, Democrats for the drug addicticted, psychotic who rather sit all day on someone else's property and spend someone else's dime flown in from the East.

@@xanderj2102 Second hand smoke isnt really an issue. Somebody would have to blow a big cloud right in your face as you inhale for it to do anything; and even then it wouldn't do much. For one, the stuff that they smoke on the streets is cut like over 90% from its pure form, and even then it's not something that really fills the air like a cigarette does as it's smoked in single hits. And even then they hold it in to absorb most of the smoke. It's not always smoked either, it's snorted too; and the heavier addicts shoot it with a syringe.
The homeless advocates will be silent on this one. BUT if a hair was disturbed on the homeless an entire mob will come to try to cancel anyone and everyone. Smh

Unbelievable. I used to live half a mile south of Ventura Blvd. near Studio City in the 1990s. The people in California have to take responsibility for voting for hard Left politicians. Vote Republican.
Give me a politician that's tough on crime and homelessness while at same time don't try to overturn our elections. They don't exist because Trump ruined the Republican Party.
@Mike V. He lost the Senate, the House, and the White House because he's too extreme for (former) swing voters like me. Now that Republicans have committed the unforgivable sin by trying to overturn the election, I can never vote Red again.
We all know homeless are the preferred people in California. We should ask all the tech companies to move out to make space for them. I want to see how many of these homeless advocates stay when there is no more money left to steal.

Inviting the homeless to live in California, a Sanctuary City has RUINED California. The laws aren’t in place, there is NO Plan on what to do with these homeless people except put them in hotels. Wishing this man a full recovery!

The main streets that run through LA's richest neighborhoods are totally out of control. The residential streets still tend to be OK, but you need to watch your back at all times on any commercial street. You'll have a multi million dollar home at the end of the block and right over the wall there will be an alley roamed by psychotic crackheads. Ironically some of the poorer areas, far on the outer edges of LA are cleaner and have very few homeless. Hope this guy recovers quickly.

Exactly! We had a chance to get rid of Newsome and here he still is! I swear the democrats love the violent homeless. Wouldn't it be neat if for every blue voter they get a complimentary strung out violent junkie to take home? That would solve the problem real quick!
This is getting ridiculous; at least in Phoenix, you can arm yourself without any stupid California gun laws. If we are forced to live with drug addicted, psychotic people encroaching on our property and city property, LA County and California need major gun reform laws. If the police can't protect it's tax paying denizens, at least let them protect themselves. Things need to change, new Governor, new DA, new Mayor, new LA County Sheriff.
I agree with everything except replacing the LA County Sheriff. Villanueva is the only person keeping LA county somewhat safe. Hes an old school hard on crime Sheriff. The LA County board of Supervisors and Mayor wants to get rid of him so that tells you something
Alot of people have already stated they are done giving them money !!!! They get food stamps, no rent, items from organizations, tax free panhandling money to purchase drugs ( think they cant pitch a tent or slum wherever, leaving huge messes). Buck stops for many. Prayer for the homeowners, time to get weapons for self defense! Prayers they catch perpetrator , justice needs to be served.
Start treating the homeless like how they look if they don’t listen use force it’s obvious they won’t listen that’s y they are in the streets in the first place they rather be in jail free food , bed ,shower

They will help issue in the New Digital Free Money' Fed Coin you're going to know it as the UBI. it was all by design It was all by design....so join me in a shouting. Victory to China! As your watching the plan & chaos unfold take it as proof that China truly has the Mandate Of Heaven. This breakdown of USA is living proof of it. Now that the Casino of the USA has been bankrupt watch the whole place become more & more dilapidated ultimately to be burned down altogether. That last process will be known as global thermal nuclear war.
California needs to send these people back to their RED home states. I met a homeless man from IDAHO shopping in Sprouts with a Calif issued EBT card. Just for the next 2 years, give these people a one-way ticket back to their home states.
Here's a tip don't you ever turn your back on them always keep them a little far away from you if you don't have nothing to protect yourself here's a little story I got fired from my job for beating up a homeless in the job he came in charge at me and that was the end of it 👊🤕
these people live pillow cushioned lives... they have never had to actually defend themselves. this guy called the police instead helping his neighbor/friend.
@@PhatAssObese . 75 percent of society today ( male and female) are emotionally SOFT and mentally/physically unprepared to defend themselves and their fellow man from scenarios just like this. The homeless suspect’s actions warranted a courageous and equal level of force to help this victim-Unfortunately, he didn’t have the advantage of self defense or help from a competent bystander this day.
Put up a sign to protect yourself from what? The laws protect the guy living where ever he wants. Now have the real conversation if you want societal solutions.
As a valley resident that's why you don't try to reason with these criminal homeless..a few months ago one snuck into my building and was charging his cell phone 2 feet away from my Harley in my underground parking..no negotiation..went up to his ass and said you gotta go homeboy and pressed my gate opener fob...he left
Gas was 2 dollars because everyone stayed home during covid and Trump had his tongue so far up putins a$$ there was no need to start a war, over fear of Nato land locking Russia.
I'm praying that the victim has a speedy recovery physically and emotionally. The city offers so many services for the homeless (tiny homes, health services, food, clothing, etc). I don't understand why the community must live in chaos and unrest because the homeless won't utilize the services available.
Because we allow them to refuse services and shelter. When you’re living life by the throws of your addiction, you don’t want to do the hard work of getting better, you just want to find your next high. Sadly, until we start forcing people into shelter and rehab, this problem will only continue to get worse.
@@theonewhoknocks3107 the insane people need to be taken off the streets and put into an insane asylum. These people are standing in the middle of busy intersections and screaming and pointing at nothing. How are they not in a psych ward?

The home owner wouldn't be in the hospital, he'd be in jail. God forbid you defend yourself from the dangerous environment the democrats in Los Angeles created through multiple failures of governance. The homelss have rights which supersede the law abiding citizens.

Great point and disgustingly l bet the answer is YES. But l promise you if the the freak that attacked him got injured while attacking the home owners everything would of been paid for!
I have seen this homeless guy before. Uncalled for? He is in another area to move around. Chase them out. Send them to the homes of homeless advocates?
This is unfortunate for the man who got hurt But everyone needs to understand There's no reasoning with these homeless people they are far gone from sanity and reasoning 😑
It is not the same there anymore... when you hear about homeless individuals attacking, the city is in real bad shape...we have to start with leadership and see what they ate doing....are they sitting on their hands or just showboating..let the people decide.
This is the perfect time to get a CCW permit you’re a top sheriff he’s running for reelection so he’s passing them out like candy to all his friends and everybody get yours while you can before it’s too late protect yourself
The problem with our society is people like to categorize, group people together homeless, white, blacks, etc. There are some homeless people who just slipped through the cracks , some may have a job. People are people. Focus on criminals , drug users, and metal illness, then get them off the street.
@@GreaserCentral . The National Desk had an article from November 30,2021 ( things have gotten much worse in the last 11 months since those stats were taken) which revealed that the 11 of the 15 deadliest cities in the US were all primarily Democratic controlled ( mayor, DA, sheriff, city council). While many red states/cities have their share of violence, most all blue cities within those red states are overwhelmingly in poor condition. It’s not rocket science: when you go soft on criminals ( woke, progressive governors, AGs, DAs not prosecuting violent offenders, making previous serious crimes less serious) the police incur low morale….less police are available ( via defunding, mass retirements, transferring out of urban hell holes) to handle more aggressive crime. The criminals take advantage of this catch and release atmosphere ( and less uniformed officers out being proactive) and get more bold , brazen and active. Add in record mentally ill homeless on the streets, and rampant drug crimes ( and all of the related crime that comes with that element) and the every day average citizen feels and sees the result. From where I reside, the major cities and outlying areas are being increasingly overwhelmed with this criminal activity (violent home invasions , residential/business/auto burglary, random stabbings and attacks) and homelessness problems ( fires, stabbings, robbery/theft/assaults, disease and loss of business). It’s going to get worse before it gets any better, especially in California. I’m getting off of my soap box now. Stay safe🤙🏼

Everyone brings tents, food, clothes, blankets, drinks, etc. to the homeless. It is pretty comfortable to be homeless. Too many are choosing this way of life - especially young people who could work, and druggies. When I was young, you had to have room mates to afford an apartment. You hear so many homeless say they don't want to live with "strangers." This is more than unaffordable housing. About 9 years ago, I owned a small clothing company, and my contractors (sewers) were on San Pedro, across from the Mission (aka Skid Row). Drug addicts and derelicts. Now all of L.A. county is Skid Row. I'm not sure how all of this happened, but I'm glad I got the hell out of L.A. County.

Huw much longer do we have to put up with this????? Today I got hit by a homeless woman in the ear when I was just passing by. (Sunset & La Brea) that's terrible !!!
gridlock stalemates are born from indifference. when people even USE the word "home" when referring to where they store their "junk" (precious mementos) it sends their neighbors the impression they dont care about anything outside of their walls or not in the confines of "their property" and the thing most have forgotten is that private property itself is an illusion and if there is no concern for community itself then there is no unity and if you have no unity you have no neighborhood. There's a reason people stopped building moats around their shacks centuries ago but those reasons have been forgotten
To start off it should be illegal for homeless ppl to set up next to houses/apartment building/school/parks. This is so sad people that pay taxes and are hard working have to live in fear!!! Not fair!!
Maybe our streets shouldn’t be an open air mental asylum for the mentally ill and unhoused? Almost seems like we shouldn’t allow them to refuse shelter and services. . .
You don’t have the right to protect yourself, your family or your property in Los Angeles… and there’s an endless supply of activists to frame the thugs that terrorize these neighborhoods as victims.
