MAN XXL TGX 540 tag axle with a diverter valve fitted and turned on to the make the exhaust straight through. This video is taken from clips of the run through Kielder village heading out towards Otterburn using a GoPro hero 2 and a Rode shotgun mic. Peter Youngers Scania R580 V8 also in front.

Nice sound and it sounds pretty good for a German truck as I am hooked on sounds from the Caterpillar and the Detroit Diesel engines. I will look forward to seeing more cool videos like this and keep up the great work.

Great ride with open exhaust. I own some 18.480 18speed manuals. But none with open exhaust as there are always trouble with the EEV class and after some hours the truck would downsize power automatically.

Yeah that is the same with these (euro 5) but if you make the diverter 70% open and 30% still going into the cat and nox sensor exhaust then the system thinks every thing is ok! If you then connect the silencer exit pipe upto the open pipe and use the same exit then relocate the temperature sensor to the tip of the exit everything will work perfect and the engine will also fuel correctly! Jobs sweet! I totally agree the F2000 & F90 are the best trucks made! TGA & TGX are not even close!

Ich glaube nicht dass die Auspuffklappe wie er sie verbaut hat in England/Irland/Schottland eraubt ist, er wird die Klappe halt so eingebaut haben Abgesehen davon gibts bei uns in Deutschland auch genug LKW mit Klappenanlage

Hi, Cheers! Its a "Rode" shot gun mic with the Deadcat mic cover on. Very good mic quite expensive but well worth the money!

I know this Truck dear, i drive the same with zf shiftbox also, but u can use it in manual mode as i do..so u can save gasoline and the use of torque is better as automatic shift..:-)

george blond autos are renowned for slippage and poor economy - no such thing as shift box there's preselect semi- auto automatic manual assisted gearboxes by air and electrics and variable speed as in daf car gearbox ps it's diesel not as the Americans call it or even stick shift
