Someone described Alan Wake 2 as "Flawed and Fun" and I agree with them. While I loving it, I also feel like it needs a little more polish on some parts. After all, still a unique experience in gaming, for the stories it tells and the devs' passions overflowing in it.
Honestly don't know why Alan didn't have bosses. I think they were trying to do some sort of balancing between the two? Alan's is more puzzles whereas Saga's is more combat? I guess Alan had the chase sequences, maybe that was his version of a 'boss'. Would have liked those to be more complicated instead of just run to X blindly. I do really like Alan Wake 2 though. Flawed like you said, but I think that's also why people love the first game, too. Remedy games typically have those glaring flaws but people just love them for it. I think its because how small the studio is and their budgets are that it can be appreciated even with the issues. Also that Xbox audio bug has been going on for a while now - only on Xbox afaik. One of the directors has been saying they've been trying to fix it for a while now, although their updates have almost completely stopped because they're working on DLC so their teams are probably cut down for that. Anyways, great review!
Bro you keep it real like this when you go back and give things a second chance and you call your past self out on it. This kind of real honesty is rare. Anyway I haven't played it yet as i don't even own it because i was as hyped as you were leading up to the release of AW2 and 8 times out of 10 i agree with your takes because we have similar tastes and so your initial review last yr kinda made me feel like "naaaah if he doesnt like it, then im probably gana hate it, ill save my money". But you've changed my mind and im gana give it a chance finally.
