Maynard seriously is the coolest weird guy in music ever. He's the biggest introvert, but he will go on stage and fucking mess up your head for weeks. It's fucking amazing.
Everybody is saying that Maynard looks very out of place, but don't forget that Rage's stage performance and energy is much different that that of what Tool, Puscifer, and APC's is. Maynard is more reserved and shy, I suppose, whereas Rage is more energetic and jumpy
Maynard is shy? Nah dude, look up his early tool days, he was a fucking lunatic then. The reason he stays in the shadows is that cant act like a lunatic on stage anymore cuz if hip problems i heard. So he stays there.
Tool, Ratm, Peach and, for example, Henry Rollins, were from the same clique, so I would say that Maynard is completely in "his" place, as I find that all of them got their kinds of agression for various reasons :-8
He sang those lyrics on the fucking first Rage album. Tom Morrello and Adam Jones(guitarist for Rage and Tool respectfully) so that's how this happened.
wish people would just stop crying about when tool will release their next album.. it will probably be their last, so let them perfect it- and be patient..
***** While that is somewhat true, the dude can still deliver. I had heard some performances even from 2006 or so that made me conclude the same as you. But I saw then in February of 2012 and WOWOWOWOW!!!!! He still has it...
Idk if they love making music then I could easily see them being the metal version of the rolling stones. Or prog metal, or whatever the heck tool is (too original). They say they are trying to do an epic piece, I'm praying it will be something that can be compared to Shine On You Crazy Diamond, but that would be a reeeeeaaaal toughy to pull off
Levi Hamilton Don't count what you call geezars as out, ! You'd be surprised, its not like they have sports injuries or anything! The young need to pay attention to um.. more mature! Lol
awwwwww wtf it cut Maynard off with his 5 seconds. damn you 1994 video glitch! I love 1994, i was 11. bring it on you troll fucks! let me enjoy a moment!
Wow that is cool I did not know that Maynard even played with Rage. This is bad ass song! I want to own this on my iPod. I'm sure it's from Rage Against the Machine's first album. Man that is cool Maynard was into some bad ass bands it seems back in the day...
yeah dude after like years I was listening to Know Your Enemy and for the first time realized there were different vocals and I was like wait a second...........mmmmmmmmaaaaayyNARD
@@blacktwofight11 every time i watch videos like these i seriously dread that I wasnt around for this.. 3 years before i was born. I was not born into the right era, but god im thankful they had cameras for this shit.
It’s a shame that there’s a glitch and a fair chunk of Maynard’s performance is missing. I saw Rage supported by Tool and Wool (who were very good - check out “Slightly Under”) at the Ritz in Manchester probably ‘93 or ‘94 - best gig ever!
Well... I was not prepared for that epicness :0 I've always liked rage against the machine, but fuck did they jam there! Plus Maynard screaming can only make things better.
its crazy how Adam and Tom Morello were friends in high school, till this day both are hugely well known and respected guitarists. crazy yet awesome shit
I wish they'd collab more, not that RATM is around anymore, but I feel like the modern scene is missing collabs, like back when Maynard would have some cameo spots for RATM and Deftones, and Tool even had Henry Rollins featured on their first LP. I think it would be sick if Jack White or Andre 3000 got a cameo on the next Tool album.
Seen Rage 8 times once at the Tibetan Freedom concert al Alpine Valley in the 90s killer show killer line up from Beasties to Run DMC but the most memorable Rage show for me was when they toured with Wu Tang oh and the first Lollapalooza show was epic stole the show!!!!
Dude, I’m doing the fingers to eyes thing. Great stuff out of the 90s, and it never sounds outdated-just as relevant as it ever was. I mourn that eras sound and energy.
Wasn't shown in teh video but can be heard, Danny also came out to do extra percussion during the interlude. Check out vids from their joint festival tours in 93 and 94 and you can catch him & MJK tearing it up.
Mad Respect & Gratitude 4 this Legit Live although man You B Makin me feel ancient but the the worst part is since this there really ain't been no one 2 fill those shoes Mad Shout Out 2 R.A.T.M. & Keenan Respect 4 Real Social Aware Artists
Tool and Rage Against The Machine, while I don't care for Tool, both were the biggest rock bands back in the 90's. Tool still are one of the biggest, but if Rage came back, then they would be right back on top, where they left off.
Ahhhhhhh thats who that was !!!!!! As a kid when Id listen to this song, I would hear Maynards part and just think "who the fuck is that!" ....LoL you really do learn something new everyday!
Really man? I mean don't get me wrong I love Tool! but Really... Iv'e always seen Zach and Maynard as equals both in there own ways. RATM and Tool both have a message being sent through their god-like lyrics and Instruments unlike anything I have seen still to this very moment (my opinion) So with that being said, No I was here because I saw the title "Maynard with Rage" which instantly caught my attention because I like and respect them both equally.
@booyabooyaboom ya i feel for you man..saw them 4 times, never saw maynard with them though. that 1 guy said its been almost 20 yrs. fucking crazy how far ahead of the times both of them were..and speaking of that..when the fuck is tool coming out with another album..10000 days was 2006 its already 2011 man..their almost past the 5 yr span WTF..well aenima took 2 yrs,,but still man ..atleast put out a live DVD or something.
@Meta1Godess metallica was good a loooooong time ago. now they have to talk to their counslers and therapists while they are on the road together. they would fit in well with the cast of jersey shore. kirk and james could learn to put on their eyeliner with some tips from the girls on there. put your cindarella , poison and winger cds away and start listening to some bands with some innovative original ideas.
@HeR3t0St4Y Generica. But still they have made a few good songs there first album was a pretty good album that at the time, had a much "heavier" sound then most music did but after there 2nd or so album they got all "same sound" musical aspect and lyrical aspect.
is it just me, or was maymards part like chopped up and shortened by over 1/2, I tried rewatching the spot a few times, and it seems doctored. way too short. wtf uploader. how's bout u get this right or take it down... very dissappointed.
I have to agree. I mean, how on Earth can anyone think that Spears, Timberlake, Rhianna, Brown, Perry, Bieber can even be mentioned in the same sentence as this? Even the rock bands of today are so soft, repetitive and boring. What the hell happened?
Nothing against Tool. But Zach is the waaaaaaayyyy better front man! Plus he's' got the punk/hardcore background. Alot more energy! I like how Rage always had something profound to say. They had the attitude more like a punk band.
youtube video: T-wE5LtDKPU He's not trying to be hardcore, true. But I would like you to watch the ease with which Maynard kicks the shit out of a dude who jumps on stage WHILE STILL FUCKING SINGING. *ahem* I don't like MJK because he's hardcore, but he is.
And how old were you when this pre sellout stuff was around? I was only 9 when the first album came out and had to wait years to be lucky to see them. I would like to see how you would handle being in one of the best bands ever.
@BlotBlackInk are you deeper than them? draw the line between you and your enemies/victims!!! Yes Brother!!!! hope u can read this but know u wont get it. you are too thick. hahahahahaahahahahaha. joke. peace & love forever.
time warp.i remember driving 6 hrs to south Austin,TX,at Southpark Meadows to see these guys.along with Teenage Atari Riot and The Roots.and the huge wave of people when they did Bulls.
Man I miss those days! I will force my kid to listen to all my music from the 90´s (and his grandfathers music from the 70´s) before he starts listening to Tokyo Hotel or some shit!
@Meta1Godess these guys are artists...metallica is a corporation. metallica sounds like money....these artists sound like genuine expression...don't conform so easy bro.
Know your enemy it's every one who tells u u can't do something because of u or ur personality you can do whatever you want who ever says different is your enemy
Back then no one really knew who he was at the time so it's fair game to be on stage with a band that was tearing it up.. 93 tool broke out on the lollapalooza tour.. He was just playing his part..
