It seems Built in Japan really makes a difference. With no other the early models have fewer issues than the later ones.

I'm so impressed by Australia for using kilowatts. How did they switch?
@themilesdriven
@themilesdriven 7 месяцев назад
I think they took on the metric system back in the 80s. Some Aussies I met knew both systems, and others only knew metric. Not sure whether some schools teach both, I know I got taught both in the U.K.

@@themilesdriven Not only metric but the international system of units, SI for short. The German DIN hp, called Pferdestärke which's unit symbol is PS is also metric, defined as metric horsepower, but it has nothing to do with SI units. A watt is the unit of power derived from units of the 7 base SI units, the true SI units: second, meter, kilogramm, ampere, kelvin, mol and candela. Every other unit is a derivative of them. 1 watt is 1 kg*m²/s³. It's pretty epic that it's that simple. I don't yet understand how these are 1 watt but it's a thing of beauty. In the EU sometime in the 2000s it was mandated that kW be the primary unit and any other units only be supplementary. Everybody, even car journalists, still uses metric horsepower, so it's impressive to me how a country has fully transitioned to kilowatt.

im looking to buy CX9 Signature 2017 with 100k Miles on it ? what do you say ??? Thanks
@themilesdriven
@themilesdriven 2 месяца назад
Hi, do you know its ownership and service history? As long as it hasn’t got any of the common faults mentioned then 100k on a Mazda isn’t something that would put me off, but some recent service history that shows items like suspension mounts, bushings, brakes, tires would be a big bonus as these can quickly add up and are usually overlooked when buying a car 👍

Car is super reliable and solid , oil changes with quality oil should be done every 5000 miles , only 2021 had oil consumption later fixed with TSB from Mazda by using redesigned seal. All other years are perfect

So would you suggest an all wheel drive or fwd version of cx9. Looking at purchasing a 2018 fwd with 92K

Do you have particularly cold/snow/icy winters, if not the FWD will be capable in most situations 👍

@@themilesdrivenhi mate I'm looking to purchase the cx8 diesel is a good car? Any advice is highly appreciated thanks
@themilesdriven

Hi, the CX-8 has good space and from memory the driving dynamics were good, not the best out there with a slightly firmer ride than some manufacturers but this meant it felt a bit more controlled all the time, and it wasn't as bumpy as some SUV's I've driven. I'll be honest though, if it's the 2.2-liter diesel I would only purchase one with a comprehensive warranty, preferably though Mazda. I used to sell thIs engine new and I actually used to have one in my company car, at first it seemed like everything that was needed after the Ford 2.0d of older Mazda's, but as time has gone on the engine has faced several issues, some of them severe. It's tough to advise as my personal experience was good with the 2.2, but there have been enough issues reported for me to say it wasn't just a particular year to avoid, the later engines are better, but not perfect. It may not be what you are looking for but I was impressed by the CX-80 and the 3.3 diesel, its still quite new and expensive, but the 3.3 was a really impressive engine for a car not trying to compete with prestige german diesel SUVs. Hope the info helps 👍

@@themilesdriven hello mate note and thank you for your time what I'm looking is for a good reliable family car. Here in Australia there is some models available but is not the US market. I saw the Mazda CX60 but it's a new car and really don't know what will look like in 10years. What about the Kia sorento, hyundai santa fe?? Any idea? Which one is better in terms of reliability? Sorry to get on that again but we had a Honda crv 2013 model for over than 10 years with zero issues!!
