Through all these videos I love how collected he is and nice he talks to his employees. Especially when he apologizes for simple mistakes. That’s the kind of person you want to work for and make a stressful job like fast food so much more enjoyable.
@@VuxGaming If he's the owner that's even better. Also I think TacticalTerry knew about it since he said "That’s the kind of person you want to work for".
Seeing an OWNER work the line with the rest of the crew, watching him pull his weight, not slacking, and being friendly/professional the whole time is inspiring. This is what I wish every owner/manager was like. There is no better way to create a hardworking/fun/happy workplace than seeing the top dog work with the "normal" folks. Props to you for running your Mcdonald's like a restaurant vs a fast food place. Not to mention your Mcdonald's looks 10000000x more clean than anyone I've been inside of in my life. I would drive an extra 30 min to come to your store and pass 10 other McDonald's on the way. Cannot compliment you enough on this. Just amazing all around really. New fan and subscriber!!!!!!!
The one I worked at is in Canada and all the management staff would stand around and yell at us. The owner would hardly ever show his face. It's nice to see someone being good to their staff
As a former dm I appreciate your work ethic. not only slaying your area and calling out as you run out of product, but using your cabinets correctly. then the extra mile by helping your prepper get the trays set up for sausage THEN going up front and bagging hashbrows for them. so impressive. loved watching this!
@@socallawrence honestly not much LOL from what I've seen owners tend to be hands off with their own businesses, so this kind of thing is rare to see lmao
This is actually fun to watch. It's cool seeing how different every McDonald's store is. This one looks especially fancy compared to the one I work at lol.
The one I work at is chaos lol. Short staffed so twice as much work to do for the people who are there and everything is broke. Not nearly as clean or professional as the one In these videos.
I’ve always wondered what it’s like behind the scene at a fast food restaurant and it’s really fascinating how the communication works and how hard it truly can be if you don’t put all of you work into it
As someone that worked at McD's in the 90s and has an appreciation for assembly line efficiency I find these videos fascinating, love seeing the changes from 20 years ago. I also feel that those holding cabinets are the reason McD's quality is subpar compared to when items were served fresh off the grills and only stored for 10 minutes after assembly.
Yea its kinda weird I worked at McD around 2010 for a year and we only stored fried stuff (chicken, fish filet, etc) also dressing guys never had to wrap up burgers :D
I think the reason why is so they can cut back on labor. You only have someone on the grill during the busiest times, and every other time you can just cook a bunch of stuff and fill up the trays. The same person can do both jobs.
Dude you make this look so smooth and simple. I worked fast food for a little bit and it is hot, chaotic, loud and stressful, rushes are like hell on earth but you bust all this out like it's nothing man. Really you make it look like an art form. Thanks for bringing hot delicious food to people quickly in such a stressful, high pressure environment.
Probably because it's a toxic environment people yelling screaming at each other there's a difference between getting the work done being respectful and just being a all around douche bag to each other just wasting time
I did both when I was younger, the big difference is the focus on speed. Subway you can have a lineup out the door and not have to sweat, McDonalds you better at least look like your in a rush.
@@CentiZen true I totally agree I used to work in the subway downtown and in the connecticut science center in the summer time, the lines were very long, lots of hungry parents & fussy kids & it was never a challenge it only became a challenge when we ran out of ingredients lol
Everything has its right place and function, the hardest part of the job is simply learning what goes where and when. This guy is a pro so he moves a lot quicker and does more than you typically would, even in a rush.
Mad props for the vids. Never really thought about what goes into making a breakfast sandwich but I love the professionalism. You guys are worth decent wages.
@@TheModdedwarfare3costs of goods and services only rise when the government mandates everyone to increase wages not when the business itself can clearly afford it and chooses to do so You commies and capitalists need to stop preaching the words from the saints of Marx
@Cameron Pangborn you do realize companies could take less profit in specific areas. We are getting rid of the middle class. It will be extremely wealthy and poor. There are ways to do better distribution
The amount of care and attention he puts into everything is incredible. From making all the food super fast but carefully to carefully putting the wax paper in the bottom of the tray for his prep cooks, just amazing
As someone who has never worked in fast food, I find the process of assembling the food utterly fascinating. Who knew that the circles on the paper had an actual purpose?
Quite the shock to see a breakfast shift vid right after i finish putting in the work on a breakfast shift of my own. i've never seen the blue trays for burritos before. My store simply uses the amber ones also used for sausage and reg meat. Nice vid overall!!
That hashbrown at the end was hysterical! He totally missed the trash container all together! Unless there is another type of container behind it! Lmao!!!🤣
I've worked in a factory, production line work, and it was less complicated. The only thing that makes that kind of factory work "hard" is the environment is usually very hot and dirty. That is it.
I'm currently 18; I started working at McDonald's when I was 17 yrs old last year in September but until now I haven't started Breakfast shift yet But supposedly the morning crew at my McDonald's Store says that it's really tough at the mornings which is why they say it's better to start your shift at Lunch or Dinner times :0
@@anthonyzaynramirez5417 It is tougher! Ppl are grumpier, more in a hurry, and mostly because they are all in a hurry for work or school. Also, breakfast items have longer cooking times
Love this guys attitude!! And the fact that he shows zero shame in what he does, and takes pride as well! Not very many fast food workers do that.. regardless of the position they are!! 👌🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
@@galenpemberton4382 Yep, working at the ground level to make sure his business is successful. Good owner. Might even be a stress reliever for him to get away from paper work/owner duties and just meld into the assembly line for a bit.
This is very nostalgic. I worked closing shift grill from 2016-2021. Many many nights back there by myself working my ass off with no end in sight. I will never forget the memories
i've always respected fast food workers for the bullshit they have to go through on the daily but these videos give me a new appreciation for them. keep it up, brotha and thanks for serving us hungry and fat americans!
Speaking of fat and hungry... it's 4am on a Thursday night, I start a new job Monday and had a YOLO moment watching this vid. Went across the street and picked up an Egg McMuffin LMAO.
I love how he goes and helps at the hash brown station while everything else is ready.. that's team work and shows he doesn't stand around waiting doing nothing
simple menu is the only way to serve it fresh and delicious...although somehow cookout has a million menu options and somehow comes close to in n out if you get a burger, fries, and chicken quesadilla + milkshake. I think another way to add menu items is to have some of them work well when held hot. Like a qusadilla isn't gonna get nasty when held hot, nor will a hot dog. mcdonald's has all these different patties and eggs and specific menu items that require hot holding which is unfortunate.
I can tell you love your job man. I appreciate you actually being on the line helping with assembly rather than just sitting in the office like my manager did
I worked at macs and burger king. And Yes the guy on a board has to be quick. Hes an assembler. You have to be a good worker to fill that role. Others cook and clean and restock. At BK it was 3 different boards back in the day. Whopper was it own spot then you had spec for deep fried stuff and chicken sandwiches. and then the other side of the whopper board was for all the other sandwiches. But that was in a time where you could get 2 for 2 bucks whoppers!!! so they were insane popular.
@@digitalsimulacrum9259 Lol have you ever worked in a restaurant before? This vid shows basically nothing of what a normal day consists of. The times you aren't in a rush scrambling to do 10 orders at once you're stocking, cleaning, cooking, etc. When I worked at a restaurant my shifts were 8 hours of exhausting work, it was intense. Why do you feel the need to demean people because they aren't doing work you consider "hard?" Cause I got news for you, it's workers like these who are the ones that make sure you get all the luxuries you take for granted.
My Man Doing Gods Work, thank you for the hot McGriddles an Coffee every morning Soldier, I salute your hard work an Dedication to show us the insides of one of the Best dam Employees Dutys. Keep up the Awesome Videos an Keep those HOT McGriddles Coming.
I love watching people do tiktok lives while working the register. Seeing these POV videos changed the game and now these are for sure my favorite kind 😅 I worked at a McDonalds for a short time and I will say the most common thing I see is the limited space in the back line area for so many people working. Feeling crammed was probably the only thing I hated about it. Not anyones fault of course. I always preferred back cash though so I could be by myself lol
Worked at Mc D’S 25 years ago as my first job and this video shows me nothing has changed in those 25 years. The storage treys are the same, bun heater is the same. I assume the stainless steel table is heated. Crazy not one thing has changed.
i appreciate these videos because it gives me a glimpse back into my old work life that i miss off & on when i used to work at mcdonald’s a couple years ago :)
One step I’m surprised McDonald’s hasn’t made more efficient is the cheese slice. Constantly picking up a large stack to peel off a slice wastes seconds.
Nice name. However I'd advise caution when you use it, and with whom, more so given what happened with "Hugh Mungus", and the current lunatic infested world we currently inhabit.
Been in here when you were just at 10k subs and it's so nice to see that you're channel is growing fast every vid! Thank you for the quality vids and coz of this, I trusted McDonalds more than ever. Can't wait to see you reach 1million!
Currently trying to get a bump up to Crew Trainer at the location I work at, and something I’ve always struggled with is line; but since I’ve discovered your videos this has kinda helped me learn how to be more efficient and quick.
This behind the scenes is really fascinating. It looks like you are "enjoying" it, or at least very professional and optimized(especially helping out different stations when you clear yours). I know it's a hot controversial topic, but I see an area that almost begs to be optimized with mechanics/robotics. Namely the assembly line of the sandwich. As long as the hoppers remain filled (which it looks like there already is a system for) it would assemble the "default" sandwiches to order. Special orders I would say be the only thing needing human intervention, though even that in the future can be mechanized.
That special order of a sausage McMuffin w/onions sounds really good, actually. Never would have thought to add onion to a breakfast sandwich, but it makes sense.
*I really love watching these type of videos. Somehow it feels very relaxing and also interesting to see you making all the Breakfast burgers and watching the entire process! Keep up the good work Stephen!* 😈😋👍
I've been managing in IT for a decade now and when hiring I will automatically call someone who worked in fast food while studying when I filter resumes. I don't care if you have no experience in IT, sell me your fast food experience as working in a high-pressure environment fueling on teamwork, and you might land the job. Edit - this applies to the whole restaurant industry, but fast food is more common for younger people.
I was getting annoyed that he never centered the sandwich on the paper, then noticed why. They had a different paper for every sandwich when I worked there (looooong ago). Mcd's will always find ways to be faster and cheaper.
And it is really nice to see the papers laying down inside the Amber trays so that the grease does not accumulate. Right on you guys are awesome your crew is very lucky to have you
@@Unholymoon93 now that is a bit overkill... if the food is all cooked thoroughly and properly there is no cross contamination... I mean yea you might get a little sausage grease on your egg but here in America we don't care about that unless someone has a food allergy lol. in which it's on them to tell us about
I remember when me and my father used to go to mcdonalds and order 2 breakfast menus: one for him (he always got the eggs and bacon one) and one for me (the pancake one); we used to eat and spend a lot of time together, more as best friends rather than father and son; he used to take me to go karts after and have fun with me until lunch came, to then go home, eat, and spend a relaxing evening with him and our family. Now everything's changed, he isn't the same person as before with me, and I'm not the same with him as well... enjoy good things until they last, because if you don't, you're gonna regret every single second you didn't.
The fact that he doesn’t have vocalize “behind” means his staff knows his flow and trusts his movements and habits. This is the definition of teamwork, it’s not easy 80% of the shift but alleviating that through consistency, example and leadership is a lost art. You are where you are, so make the best of it, and I know for a fact your team loves you for it!!
Mad respect for you dude.. Food service isn't easy. You're moving quick and seem to actually care. Id love to see your work ethic succeed! Go kill the world dude!
Nice job. This actually looks like fun. I see you still have ham, is this before the egg white delight was discontinued? Me and my dad would always get those, it was a bummer they went away :(
I can't believe this video was only 5 minutes long. It was entertaining, but felt like an eternity. I don't have a job, and I don't know if I'm ready to work yet...
There's something so calm about this...Every movement is so controlled and purposeful. I especially like the division of labor...when I worked at McD a loooooong time ago, you'd be between the grill and assembly, and turn back and forth to handle both at the same time. This makes much more sense. Almost makes me miss the work. ;D
wish it was longer, i was a bit mad when the vid ended lol. its hypnotizing to watch how organized a fast food again is. pls post a vid like 20 min vid. would be a good vid to relax and sleep with, just watching how fluid everyone is. thanks for the vid!
