I love how the lemon gag goes all the way back to when Rodney was a one time character on SG-1 to be the thorn in Carter's side. Funny, the same episode also featured both Q and The Doctor. Just goes to show how much the writers of SG valued character growth as both Woolsey and McKay were written to be bad characters and grew to be invaluable cast members.
@@kreigguardsman3355 Robert Picardo, who plays Woolsey in SG-1 and Atlantis. He plays the EMH in Voyager. I just realized I should have been more specific when saying 'The Doctor'.
@lwvmobile, a random thing, but the actress who played Osiris had a small part in the Ralph Eggleston run of Doctor Who. It was in the episode first featuring The Daleks in the revamped version.
Everytime I see this scene it freaks me out. Mitchell and Sheppard are so much alike it's very similar to watching a scene digitally altered to show one guy playing twins and having them interact with each other.
@@The360MlgNoscoper Indeed. Key word being “knock off”. And not the good sort of knock off where it’s just as good as the original. Nah. Diminishing returns. Though I should say, Mitchel and John are good characters. I just think O’Neill is better.
It's best to get the stick out of your butt because it's definitely been in it for too long. That's my O'Neill like answer with two L, not one L (with one is someone other). Oh btw I have allergy (dog hair and other like crossbow or somenthing like that), but I can laugh at such scenes and have a distance to it that you don't have.
I get it. I have allergies myself, and I read a dubbed comic from Etra Chan Saw It (YT channel) where both a wife and husband had allergies. The wife would always complain about her allergies to her husband, who always respected her, until one day he accidentally gives her a cake that was mixed with citrus. Her allergy kicked in, she wasn't going to die, but her Psycho narcissism was shown the next day where she blames her husband and nearly kills him with his severe allergy to soba noodles. Needles to say, she got arrested for attempted murder.
Amazon just bought stargate's recording studio, MGM so there's hope again. Now we just need to bug Bezos into recording more Stargate for Amazon prime video
Oh, God, I miss SG-1 and Atlantis... It's all in the writing and the acting, folks... it just so happens that these two things are hard to replicate... Heh, "replicate"..
Thanks so much! I had a feeling that it might be an SG-1, and not an SGA episode. I knew that David Hewlett had appeared in a few (4, I think) SG-1 episodes; but I didn't know that Joe Flannigan appeared in some as well. So I wasn't sure. Thanks so much again. I really appreciated your prompt response. :)
Well... They couldn't really have them together for too long. Since they were basically the same character, but we were supposed to think they're different. Keeping them together would make it too obvious.
It's called Pegasus Project, and it's the third episode on season 10 of SG-1. It's the only real crossover they've done between the different Stargate series.
hmm glad I got what the title was but only because I watched the series and knew about McKay's allergy to Citrus otherwise I would have though there was a character called Mitchell Lemon.
+Hoplite121 Yep. Suddenly Mckay goes from being right to always being wrong when she turns up. But as anyone whoes seen the first series of SG1 and the time travel episode from the later series knows exactly why she's always right and its down to a certain trope we have to suffer through
Sam is wrong on a number of occasions. She just usually manages to work around the problem or find her way to the solution that had been eluding her. Look at the time dilation problem. Took her YEARS to work that out. Also, Mckay says a LOT of stuff is impossible right before he does it or it happens to him. He's wrong A LOT.
Can you please tell me the name of this episode? I don't think I have seen it, which is surprising because I thought I had seen ALL of the SGA episodes...
@@angelous8942 Can you please tell me how can we "highlight" our comments the way you have highlighted your reply? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
@@angelous8942 Really? You see mine as a "Highlighted reply" just as I see yours designated as a "Highlighted reply"? Because my reply does not appear as a "Highlighted reply" on my end...
I never watched Atlantis beyond Weir and the doctor leaving in season 4 . Was kinda sour and to be honest I was burnt by that point from marathoning the show! Lol How was Atlantis after that?
I asked David at a convention if McKay was exaggerating the severity of his allergy and he said in real life he's allergic to pineapple himself He said as a kid he'd eat a slice or two and him and his family would laugh at his lips swelling up He said when he left home for the first time he decided to eat a whole pineapple, he ended up in hospital
His citrus allergy's well known. It was mentioned in several episodes of SGA and even caused a very admitted fan to have a truckload of fake lemons dumped in the parking lot of one of the producers after SGA got cancellled... WE STILL WANT THE SGA MOVIE!
It's very well established that McKay is allergic to lemons, I think even the first time he was introduced he asks whether food has citrus or not, due to his allergies (later on the episode Carter gets annoyed by him, and tells him to "go suck a lemon".
The first episode he appears in on SG1 while in the cafeteria he asks if their is lemon on the chicken. He makes a similar at the end of SGA Rising. He states it again in season 2 Duet, its became I known fact that McKays is allergic to citrus. It is the first mention of a lemon actually being carried around on missions though (at least from what I remember).
I do see the funny part in it, im just saying the title would fit under tvtropes for unfortunate complications... and your post didnt help in that aspect which is true... i dont think you know how depraved the internet can be. cracked (humor site) has a list, or 2, about freaky fanfiction pairings... one of them is professor snape banging the teletubbies...
Yeah... threatening to kill someone as a form of "motivation" to perform = Hallmarks that any "hero" should aspire too and not something that Stargate would make villains do. Trying to be funny and instead coming across as petty, vindictive and a bully. Rodney might be a dick but threatening to poison / murder him is a bit extreme.
