It's basic science. Two dominant genes (brown eyes) can have a recessive gene (blue eyes). I look just like my parents but with blue eyes to their brown.
Most likely a grandparent or great grandparent, stuff like this travels a couple generations One of u likely has the trait for blue eyes but it's just not manifested itself in u
@@Esther-tg7yj Yup, according to mendelian genetics, both moms must have one allele for blue eyes and one for brown and the boy inherited both blue eyes allele. ;)
If both parents with brown eyes carry a blue eye gene from their parents they will then pass on the blue eye colour..blue eye gene only happens when both sides have a blue eye gene . 💙
Unfortunately too many people nowadays put their own needs and wants above their children's not thinking of the potential consequences. Do whatever makes you happy just don't involve children and/or hurt others with your selfishness.
@@jlc9914 Have you actually done ANY research? The majority of kids with LGBTQIA+ parents are straight asf. Its maybe a 1% chance of meeting a gay kid who's parents are gay. Being LGBTQIA+ also isn't necessarily a bad thing, its a neutral thing, so is being straight. Also Shaye and Amanda's kids seem to be 100% straight as far as we know. Its also not a bad thing if one of them turns out to be a little homosexual or not cis.
@@creativewriter1046 its in quotes, some people say trans women will always be recognizable from biological women but it clearly isnt true (It also wasnt directed at the original commenter)
If you are going to comment at least educate yourself on what you are commenting on first. This world is going to sh*t because people think their ignorant opinion matters when they can't even do a minute of research first. They are BOTH that child's biological parent.
Poor kid, imagine how bullied he gets. Can't people put their own selfish desires aside...at least wait a few years til his old enough to handle it better. I don't care what lefties say this would be confusing and disruptive for him 💔
My parents both have brown eyes, all my siblings have brown eyes, I have blue eyes. I always hoped I was adopted until we learnt about genes at school because actually they both had one parent with blue eyes, was gutted I wasn't secretly my aunties daughter as she was nicer than my mum 😂
What a beautiful family. Both my parents have a mix of blue and green and my oldest sibling got piercing beautiful clear blue eye and I full on green lol. Eye genetics if actually more complicated then what we are taught in high school but blue tend to be recessive
Fun fact: eyes aren’t always hereditary, your mom could have green eyes and your dad have brown, you could come out with literally any eye colour, but it would be common to get brown or green, but you could get blue, hazel, don’t matter.
Green and blue are recessive traits you have to get them from both parents to get them and brown is dominant so only one parent has to have it just like red hair is recessive both parents must have the genes for you to have the chance of getting it
That's...not how genes work. Different combinations of genes result in different eye colors in offspring depending on whether one is dominant (making the other recessive) or if perhaps they are co-dominant to each other. It's also pretty likely dependant on more than just one single gene pair, but I'm not a biologist and don't know for eyes specifically. Regardless, eye color is not determined by environmental factors and is in fact hereditary. (person above commented while I was typing my comment, just to be clear my response was at the OP not the person above me)
@@TheQuicksilver115 - you're correct when stating more than one gene pair for eye colour. There are 2 main genes, but an additional 14 that also play a role!
Mine are brown.. mom's are blue, dad's were green with curly black hair, their parents each had blue eyes, great grandparents were blue and green, great great grandparents brown and green.. took a few generations for brown again. Only 2 in my generation of cousins have brown besides me.. down below us are all 3 majorly.
In my family, brown and hazel eyes are prominent but green and blue eyes skip a few generations. The great grandparents had them, none of their children (grandparents) or grandchildren have them but the great grandchildren do.
This is like my family! My dad deep dark brown eyes, my mom hazel green eyes and my brother turned out blonde hair blue eyed! Also your tiny human has the best laugh!
When you have picked a lane, gotten married and had children, l think what you should wait until the kids have become adults before you embark on your own journey. Totally support/feel for the husband who wanted to transition, but, l don't think it wise to do that whilst the family is so young. Their kids may(?) be kind/understanding towards their Papa, but l'm pretty sure that their kids' friends won't be. God bless this family.
What else do you think he needs? Other than the mentally and physically healthy parents and family and friends who love him and who appear to also have enough money to meet all of his needs and then some … which he already obviously has? Do you have all that?
blue eyes are a recessive trait. with two brown eyed (dominant trait) parents, one or both of y’all could be carrying the recessive gene and he’s the 25% likelihood of blue eyes in that punnet square
Brown eyed parents is a 6% chance of blue. Someone on either dad or mom's side in their family must have had blue eyes. So it's rare but very possible. Both my husband and I are brown eyes, and my daughter is blue.
You both carry the recessive trait. Someone in your family must have them. Neither of my parents have blue eyes, and I do not as well. But my younger twin siblings do, and my uncles and cousins on my dad's side do. It's a thing 😆 Love your content, and such a beautiful family!❤
My parents both had dark brown almost black eyes, mine are green and my oldest and my grandson both have blue eyes . One of my maternal great uncles had blue eyes .🤷🏾♀️
It's the same with my parents and my sister has light blue-green eyes and my eyes are dark blue with silver steaks through them. My maternal grandfather had blue eyes I know for sure and I think maybe both paternal grandparents? My sister and my dad have VERY particular thumbs but she looks just like my mom and I look just like my dad. Fun fact, both my parents have dark brown almost black hair and my sister had PLATINUM blonde hair and my natural hair color is dark brown with just a hint of copper in the sunlight. My paternal grandmother was a red head. Genetics are crazy lol
Listen okay so my eyes are hazel My sister's eyes are green my brother's eyes are blue My mom's eyes are green my dad's eyes are brown so you can't really go by that but each one of us looks like somebody in our family but none of us look like each other so like I look like my dad's sister my sister looks like my mom my brother looks like my mom's brother so you can't really go by that but I see that he's got the best of both mom and dad
This is why I love 💚 genetic! My dad's mom and dad had brown and hazel eyes. My dad has brown eyes and his sister had brown. My mom's dad and mom had blue and brown eyes. Their 4 kids all had blue eyes except for the youngest who has blue eyes. My brother has brown eyes and I have green hazel eyes... like my granddad.
Recessive genes. My first husband and I both have brown hair and eyes. Our first son had blond hair blue eyes, and our second son had red hair green eyes. Edit spelling mistake 🤦♀️
He's what they call a throwback. Is blue eyes were inherited from a family member from one side or another of the family. I'm a throwback myself. I got My golden hazel eyes from my great great aunt Fannie Belle. She and I are the only ones in a long line of family members with hazel eyes that change to cat eye gold with our mood. It's called being a throw-back..
Love you two! I saw the video where she said if you weren't okay with her transitioning she wouldn't. There are only a few things more honorable than personal sacrifice. Do you have a video on how you felt when she told you, or how she told you? I'll be honest, if my husband told me this I'd be heartbroken and grieving. I would not remove him from my life but I don't think I could stay with him.
Dad has brown eyes. His parents had brown eyes. His maternal granddad had REALLY light blue eyes. My mom has blue eyes. Both my brother and I have light eyes. Genes can be surprising!
Because you both have very cool undertones! You’re both in the realm of cool and bright, like Krysten Ritter and Jennifer Connelly. It totally makes sense that your son is also bright and cool like Alexandra Daddario. Sorry for the gibberish 😂 I have my color analyst point of view
