Ooo I didn’t realize that spaghetti squash was a non-starchy veg. I have been on this diet for a week and lost 9 lbs!!🎉😄. UPDATE: I’ve been eating WFPB via Starch Solution for almost 13 weeks and lost 41 lbs! 😄
I love freezing bananas then blending them with a little vanilla extract, almond milk & maybe cinnamon. Bananas get sweeter after freezing. This makes a yummy banana ice cream or banana shake if you add more almond milk. Yum!
For anyone looking for an oil free bouillon, the "Better than bouillon" organic vegetable bouillon is oil free. The non organic one is not, so you just have to check the label and ingredients.
I love your cookbook! All of the women and girls in my family are over weight. So 3 of us is going on this diet. We hope to show the other women that our size is not genetic but based on our food choices. Meat, Meat, and more Meat, lots of fat and of course we drown our sorrows in cake and ice cream. Keep us in prayer, because it's going to take a lot to convince the others that they can let go of years of the SAD diet.
The easiest way to empty a pomegranate is like this; Cut the pomegranate horizontally, loosen the skin slightly. Face the cut section into the palm of your hands with your fingers open over a bowl and keep wacking the back with a wooden spoon! All the pomegranate seeds start falling out, no mess and no hassle. I literally don't use any other way now it's so easy!
Yay!!! Started this plan 2 weeks ago. I feel better than I ever have. And that's saying alot because I have MS. I follow your recipes and feel great. I dont miss meat or processed foods at all! Thanks! You are an inspiration.
Watch Andrew Womack healed from MS Henry Wright wrote a book or a more excellent way. The spiritual root to disease. The spiritual route of multiple sclerosis is usually Related to issues with the father. Also there’s quite a bit more about it. Go to RU-vid and look up a more excellent way auto immune
I cut them in half, hold the half over a big bowl and hit it with a big spoon. It gets the majority of them out and saves your hands from getting stained.
I love how easy yet delicious these recipes are, using kitchen tools/equipment that most already have on hand! Would love a video walking through the things you batch prep for the week (potatoes, squash etc). Keep these recipes coming!!👏🌱❤️
I hear you! I love it, too. After work, and cleaning, and doing laundry, and running errands and taking care of the dog, etc I can’t imagine “meal prepping” or cooking 🤦🏾♀️. Lord have mercy! All I want to do is warm it up!!!! I just love her. She’s so real with this.♥️
I like the pepperoni blend too, but I actually found a better version anyone can make from home! I use it coat slices of zuchinni that acts like "pepperoni" for pizzas: 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 teaspoon granulated garlic 1 teaspoon ground mustard 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
@@3bonyhehe my mom takes meds for hers as well but she won’t go plant based. She does reduce chicken to once a day. And then vegan the rest of the day.
Excellent! I too love simplicity! I wasn’t aware of the need to eat your veggies first! I started eating this way after watching your videos but quickly lost a couple of pounds which I did not need to lose at the time so I added back in oils and avocados. I just love the foods! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏼❤️
Kiki, you need an immersion blender for that soup. It will do the same thing and you won’t have to move the soup to a blender. It will save time and make life easier! All of the meals look delicious.
I used to blend soups in my blendtec as well. As soon as I finally purchased an immersion blender, I was thinking, “why did I put myself through that all those years.” One of the best purchases ever!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!!!!!!!!!! I can't begin to say how grateful I came across your GREAT VIDEOS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered you newest book today and can't wait for it to arrive !!! Thanks so much for caring and sharing !!!
So glad I found you! I was a McDougal Vegan MANY years ago and am now almost back to it, just keeping a little 1/2 and 1/2 for coffee and a little fish. Love your receipes, your personality and your life!
Could you do a video on all your meal prepping you do for the week. I noticed you prepare quite a bit for reheating and that is definitely key for success on this diet. I love all your content. Thank you for the inspiration. I’ve been following you for at least two years and value your information. Thanks!
Kiki! I know that a lot of work goes into videos like these but they are great! So helpful to someone like me who has noooo creativity when it comes to food. Your ideas are simple to pull off but make the food so much more palatable. Thank you for all of your efforts geared toward the millions of us struggling to win this weight battle. You rock pretty girl, you rock.
Made the black bean soup & it was so GOOD! Even my nonbean eating child liked it! I have 2 out of 3 of my kids eating plant based at least 50% of the time now...my oldest isnt there yet, but he tries things...we'll hopefully get them all in soon
I picked up your idea to make an entire 9x13 pan full of prepared oat groats. Once cooked and cooled, I cut them into squares in individual serving and freeze them wrapped. I keep six in my refrigerator and freeze the other six for the next week. Works great for me too! Appreciate all your wonderful ideas! You are so right though, quick and easy works for me too! Thanks
I've been watching your videos ...the videos from when you started... and now your level of confidence has increased, your changes in your body....amazing! Kiki you are SUCH an inspiration!
Kiki I just wanted to thank you so much for what you do! I’ve been struggling for a long time and came across your channel. I just caught up to all your videos. I started watching in December and started the program on the 1st. I feel so good and have already lost weight. You are so patient and repeat yourself without being annoyed. It finally clicked for me. Thank you! ❤️
Not sure if someone already suggested it, but if you fill your bowl with water while you're shucking the pomegranate the seeds come out easier. Plus the seeds sink and the membrane floats! Love your videos Kiki.
Shortcuts make this food plan sustainable. I notice Kiki does what I do: start with what’s easiest for you, (so you don’t blow it and quit). Then when I feel stronger and have more energy from losing weight and gaining mental clarity from eating so many vegetables, get healthier and healthier because it’s easier.
I'm in about week 5 of WFPB eating. I've been alternating my non starchy veggies between salads and frozen mixed veggies. That spagetti squash looked so yumm. I also have been trying new recipes in an effort to find sustainable regular, easier meals that we all enjoy. Still learning to eat 50-50.
WOW! I love your easy going, relaxed style, and clarity in explaining and showing how to do the recipes. So easy to watch and follow. Very good. I just subscribed. I like simplicity.
I had all but given up on losing weight without a life of sacrificing the foods I love: potatoes, corn & lentils. Then this video came up in my feed. Thank You KiKi!! I’ve already ordered your new cookbook. I can’t wait for it to arrive. I’m so excited New Sub
I’m a new sub, only found you just a couple weeks ago and the stubborn weight has been melting off. It’s so exciting. And the best part is I’m not depriving myself. I did miss my Fields Roast sausage in the beginning, but quickly adjusted. Thanks so much for posting what has helped you on your journey and that gravy, girl, I’m definitely trying that tonight for my mashed potatoes! Looking forward to the next video!😊
@@PlantifulKiki Absolutely! I’ve been vegan for almost 10 years and ate a ton of veggies, but I still ate oil, a lot of avocados, and some processed foods and I couldn’t loose weight. Now going on a strictly Whole Foods diet, I can eat large amounts of food and still loose weight. How amazing is that?!😊
I love this video! You inspired me to lose my own weight! I had been missing my Blendtec when mine died and I would see yours and I finally got one again. Love Blendtec 🧡
I am always so excited when you post a new video! You have been the biggest inspiration to me, out of all the other great youtubers I follow, and we are very similar in what we eat! I love love love how you put your meals together, and love your videos, thanks for all you do Kiki!!!
I have been eating this way for 6 months and have only lost 20lbs. trying to tweak it a bit more because I need to lose at least another 90 to 100lbs. I did stall for a month but I noticed swelling in joints going down during that month, so I think my body was dealing with some internal inflammation, but I am ready to kick start this weight loss back up and get close to my goal as possible by next yr!
20 pounds in six months is nothing to sneeze at - you are doing very well! Some of lose slower than others. I only lose about a 1/2 a pound a week and if I deviate from the 50/50 plate at all or start eating nuts I stop losing.
I got rid of inflammation too, especially in my knees. Hitting a plateau is normal, important thing is to NOT stop! I know you can do it and with Kiki's motivational videos, there is NO doubt!👍🙏
Kiki, love, love these recipes. I always get back on track when I watch your videos. Will be making the black bean soup this week and the gravy for the mashed potatoes and veggies. Thank you
I recently found you on tic tok and have now followed on Instagram and Subscribed on You Tube. I have been binge watching your videos...I think I can really switch to plant based. Your recipes are amazing and simple
I love how your recipes are always so simple and do-able. I usually can make them out of what I already have at home. I always get ideas from your videos when I am drawing a blank about what to make for my dinner and lunch for the week.
Hi Kiki! Look at how many lives you are changing for the better! Love your recipes! You look amazing in the video by the way-your eyes are glowing. Sending love from WI.
Girl, you did that ! You keep it soooo simple. I like McDougals books but your recipes make it doable. You and chef Aj are my go to’s. I haven’t lost any weight so I just implemented fasting and eating a plant based diet hopefully I see some results soon
@@macmac1512 i have more energy and I’m not sluggish anymore. I know it’s different for everyone but that’s the benefits I see so far. I think I was eating to many carbs and not enough veggies on my plate.
I so wish I could eat frozen veggies without gagging. Frozen corn and peas are OK for me but omg, frozen asperagus will literally make me barf by the texture. Lolol
@Morganlefay 👍 make sure you put in boiling water and bring back to the boil as quick as you can then boil only for the time on the packet or 5 minutes drain . I cook frozen veggies in bulk drain and when they’re cold store in the fridge . Reheat in microwave ( usually with a portion of a prepared meal that I also cook in bulk ) I try and make things as simple as possible so there’s always a meal ready to grab x
I just found you on RU-vid, and I am so happy I did. Your recipes looks delicious, I can’t wait to try them. You are beautiful, you look amazing. Thank you for all your videos.
Kiki, if you submerge to pomegranate in water in the bowl in the sink you can avoid the stains and the little yellow pieces float. You end up with just the seeds. No stains no debrie. Blessings, B from California
Love your videos 😍. Pomegranate is easier to shack if you submarge it in the bowl of cold water . It is easier to separate the seeds and you will not get messy with the juice.
For the pomegranate, cut it in half, hold it over a bowl, cut side down and keep hitting the skin of the pomegranate with a wooden spoon until all the seeds come out, much faster and easier than pulling it apart!
This is amazing!!! My hubby is vegetarian n’ I sometimes dive into the vegetarian life for a week but this is interesting. As a hint for shucking pomegranate, immerse in a bowl of water. Seeds come out easier
Wow now !! I definitely need to be here more often. Thanks for the recipe. I always follow the 50/50 As for Oil I 've always made any meal where Oil is required with less oil
To soak lentils: Rinse and drain 1 cup lentils, check for any pebbles. Pour filtered water in a large pot, add 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Heat until the water is just warm. Stir in lentils, cover pot and let sit overnight. Next day, drain lentils, rinse with clean water and drain. At this point they can be cooked, or stored in the fridge to cook later. I've not stored them longer than 1 day. Makes a really good lentil soup with vegetable broth, onion, garlic, celery, carrots, onion powder, garlic powder, little salt. Optional: add more veggies, and spices (I like curry).
Kiki, you just blew my mind! I had never ever considered doing spaghetti squash any other way except with a sauce of some sort. And to be honest I’ve always been a little underwhelmed. I am going out to get some and I am going to try roasting it instead. What a great idea! I am new to your channel and I am already loving it. 😊👍
Hi. I'm not vegan but I still like to have good & simple whole foods meal ideas to incorporate into my low carb, almost Mediterranean way of eating that I've started on recently. Your meals seem kinda more balanced than some of the other plant based/vegan RU-vidrs I've seen. You seem to use a wider variety of non starchy & somewhat lower starchy veggies than a lot of the others. Seems like the others eat mostly oats, bananas, potatoes & their cheese sauce almost all the time! Not enough variety & way too much STARCHY starch for me! I need more cruciferous veggies! Nicely done! Thanks for these great, simple meal ideas!🙂
Thank you so much for these videos. I started eating this way a few weeks ago and have lost 6lbs so far and the food is delicious. I am not missing meat, chicken or eggs at all, especially as I see the scale go down!
A handheld immersion blender would be mulch easier for the bean dish. i like the cordless ones. Thanks for the inspiration! I like how you keep it simple for people.
I'm the same way. I season EVERYTHING that I make with garlic salt and maybe a little pepper. But nothing else lol. Garlic salt adds the BEEEEEST flavor!
I just found you yesterday after watching a highcarbhannah video and subscribed last night after watching your starch solutions video. Cant wait to read the book and start my journey.
Thank You, for making this simple. I was always trying to do the most. I tried following other people and their recipes were a little time consuming, your tips are excellent. I will be following you closely
Hi Kiki, thank you for the gravy recipe. I'm SO excited! I just made for the first time. It was super easy and even better tastes delicious!!!👏I'm having a salad now. I can't wait and look forward to eating mash, w/gravy, & corn shortly☺ Thank you for sharing 🙏
I’m late but I just made the shallot sage gravy over potatoes and some air fried broccoli. Omg love it. Thanks for sharing 💜 Having this again for lunch today but with spinach and mushrooms sautéed! I’m addicted. This gravy is so good. I have never had sage or shallots but I love it. Smelled so strong and good I felt like I was cleansing my house and soul , everything. Thanks so much I am hooked on your videos. 😂
