I won some chicks at Homesteaders of New England! I will eventually plant garlic in this bed for for now it's going to hold 11 chicks to help them transition to the outdoors!

I am enjoying catching up on your videos. You have advanced to a new level with animals to your homestead. This is something that I have learned down through the years-if someone wants to bless you with something-accept it because when they are blessing you that opens up a blessing to them. That is truly a blessing to have someone like that in your life. Thank you for sharing.

The chicks are growing so fast! So I think you have multiple Niederrheiners and a Whiting true green, her feather pattern looks just like my Whiting. Homesteaders of New England was great and we got to hang out, sweet bonus. I enjoyed your Q&A panel with Morgan and Realtor from Porcupine Realty. Jonah was with me and I thought he would escape after few minutes to the playground but he stayed and was genuinely interested in the panel. I can’t wait for next year for your talk, I’ll be the one up front with a Wicked Awesome Gardening tee shirt in Carolina blue! Thanks for the shout out, I appreciate you. Jonah was so happy you won the chicks. As for his shenanigans as soon he said he had his dad’s permission my BS detector went off! In the end with a nudge he made the right decision and he still gets chickens! Everyone wins!

Gotta love a win win! Next time I need to actually film at the event! I barely filmed anything at all. Definitely not enough to make a video from. And I need to film the two of us for MY channel for once! Maybe when I bring down Jonah's chickens!

Love my raised beds, great idea for the babies! Very cool! Didn’t know you’re in New Hampshire. I’m a electronic medical record consultant and worked for Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH for a year and a half. Beautiful state especially in the fall! Thanks for sharing 😊

Im so excited that you got the chicks! Ginger almost sold me on entering the raffle but i dont have a setup either! I just bought my first home this month in canaan in the upper valley of nh and starting visions of my homestead! ♡

Yay!!! Congrats! 😁 I wasn't going to enter the raffle but I'm glad I did. They are so cute! I still don't know which chicks are which breeds 😂 and I suspect a couple roosters! Ginger told me to take pictures and show them to her at Homesteaders of America. 😂

So how long do the babies need to stay in the brooder? When do they go into the henhouse and stay outside?

It takes til about 6 weeks or so for them to be fully feathered and be able to regulate their own body temperature! Once I get the coop finished I'm going to move them into it full time, but I'll run an extension cord out there for the warmer for a couple weeks.
