A shut - in! I haven't heard that term in decades, when we did shut-in at children's church. MeMe takes me right back to childhood. Love her!

With her I got the experience of snapping beans picked from her garden, learning canning, and making all the best beards and treats. It makes me feel closer to her watching you. I made some pumpkin bread on Sunday and it was delicious. I did take the liberty of adding a cup of raisins because everyone here likes them. The house smelled great and the pumpkin bread is delicious. It’s funny you say to have it with coffee in the morning because that’s when I have mine and sometimes with a cup in the afternoon. Last night I realized I had a tub of sour cream that had only a couple of days left on its expiration. I ended up making your hobo corn muffins as I had a few guest coming for dinner. These are delicious and everyone took one or two home. I am loving your cookbook. All cooks need and old should get your book. Thanks so much for the joy and pleasure you bring.

I've been making pumpkin bread for years but still like seeing what other people do. I have (in red) a set of four of those small, scalloped loaf pans and LOVE your idea to gift a quick bread with the pan. I play in a few local Mah Jongg groups and that will be a great little holiday gift. Thanks for the idea!

Looks good! Pumpkin bread is also good when you fold in at least one to two cups of raisins, and, ( if you can) either a cup of walnuts or pecans. At Christmas time I have also turned this recipe into a fruit cake. I don’t use the colorful candied fruit that starts to appear in the grocery store produce department. Instead I use dried fruits such as raisins, dates, dried pineapple, and an assortment of chopped nuts. Everyone I have ever made it for loved it! Normally they don’t like the “traditional” fruitcakes.

My mom has the best recipe and I'm not going to give it away. But it taste just like a rich pumpkin pie OhOO so good 😋 so moist. It freezes good too in syran wrap or wax paper.

A much requested treat in my family. I add washed and drained cranberries. That gives a nice little bite and a bit of color for the season. Try yours toasted with the cream cheese you mentioned with your coffee in the morning. 😊

Fall??? it's July...NEVER pack your flour for measuring...always fluff it first then measure, otherwise you are adding MORE flour than called for.

Meme, I hope you answer questions. I have been cooking for about 48years and I was taught to put my food on the middle rack. Why do you put yours on the bottom? You can still teach an old dog new tricks so teach me please😂
