I saw this concert twice in the first 10 rows at the L.A. Sports Arena in '89... and I had to fly home from college in Tennessee TWICE to see it (MJ got sick in November and it was rescheduled for January). And YES, it was BANANAS to see him live - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. My first concert experience was the J5 when I was 4, then I also saw the Jacksons at 12 (Destiny), 14 (Triumph; twice), 17 (Victory; twice - front row center once and I caught the shirt Michael ripped off Randy after he threw it), then Bad (his last two full solo concerts on American soil). And then I got to spend 5 days at Neverland in 2002 (Chris Tucker was a friend from before he was famous, and we called ourselves "working" - but we didn't accomplish much there lol). I'm one of the very few lifelong MJ fans who got to live the dream from start to finish by getting to see him perform live from basically toddlerhood and all through his glory days - and then I also got to have the time of my life at Neverland (it was everything you could imagine it was and then some) - and also see him be a regular dad with his kids. I guess the universe helped me out because it knew that I was such a huge Michael Jackson fan basically from birth lol. When he died, a part of my heart went with him - and it’s a hole that will be empty forever.

Oh and as far as impersonators go, I’ve seen quite a few live but they’re usually pretty disappointing. Not hating on them at all, but it’s just hard to channel MJ’s magic. Honestly, if you can swing it, definitely go to the MJ One show in Vegas. It’s Cirque Du Soleil performers, but they incorporated entire portions with MJ holograms which were pretty incredible. I was in the second row losing my shit like I was at an actual MJ concert. It was so much fun.

Firstly I don't understand why you skipped past the fans part, and to say MJs graphics was trash almost made me switch off. You do realise it's the 80s and MJ had the best of the best?....I persevered with your reaction and I think it's still my most favourite tour of MJ. The fans were crazy but most important it's the MJ I grew up on. I was 9 at the time. The energy he had, the fact that it was more fluid than the technical Dangerous and History tours. MJ looked like he was having a blast. Lastly it's still the biggest grossing tour of all time (Guiness record). Absolutely gives me chills especially the mass singalong in Human Nature. You could see MJs face he was delighted at that. Absolute genius and much missed.
