Goatness Presents "Jordan Dunks. 90'91 Season" All of The Goat Michael "Air" Jordan's Best Dunks of the 1992'93 NBA Season, Play-Offs & Finals. Including some Gems (as usual).
Jordan was Basketball as a Performance Art. The Grace he expressed with his unique athletic gifts elevate him above Rings and numbers. Aliens would recognize he is the best to ever do it just by watching his highlights alone, without sound as influence, compared to everyone else's.
Here's the thing. MJ isn't even using his full vertical for a lot of these breakaway dunks, he's actually conserving energy and just trying to dunk it quickly and easily. But for some of the other dunks in traffic he's elevating to another level and his head is almost rim level. Most spectacular player in NBA history.
Speed, quickness and jumping ability he possess and wasn't afraid to attack the rim, plus he gave you something to be in awe about every time he is on the court
His two feet take off from the hardwood is a masterpiece. The way he aligns them with sequence and takes off with such an explosive move to get up in the air above all defenders is simply amazing! MJ had crazy athletic abilities (fast, explosive, stamina, vertical jump, leaper, body control, creativity, air movement and suspension, etc.) and a unique DNA (6.6' height where nobody in his family was more than 6 feet, long wingspan, and big hands ). Now combine all that with a high level IQ , unseen work ethic, and sociopathic will to win ....then you get a perfect basketball winning machine ! He is one in a trillion athlete... Personally I don't think we will see another one like him again... and it's sad for the new generations not to witness live a player like him!
In his 30s, he had the foot speed of a 20s Steph Curry, the takeoff of air Canada, the strength of LBJ, and the IQ of Magic/Bird. Dude is def some cheat code in some NBA2K.
Back in the 90s to nowadays Michael Jordan has a lot more talent than any other NBA player in history. No one else has dunking skills better. Other then Michael Jordan I never seen anyone else dunk on the whole team. Michael Jordan's the G.O.A.T.
I agree. Nothing against Lebron but when he stood over tiny Isiah Thomas after dunking on him I thought “really man? That’s where we are?” Amazing athletes, both, but I’ll take MJ all day as the face of what the NBA should be. Pure athleticism coupled with skill and an insane desire to compete and win.
Just look at these highlights with Jordan able to get to the hoop with a defender on him with all that hand checking and contact. He would average 50 easily if he played nowadays with the wimpy defense rules and open lanes.
With all the GOAT discussion, how do you guage the entertainment factor? In any sport, what other athlete drew so much attention by their entertainment factor? That holds on defense as well; spectacular defense that made everyone just shake their heads! And these highlights are 32 years old!
Without big hands MJ would not have all those 1 hand dunks. With Kawhi, Pippen etc, this is a very big advantage. I remember with my small hands using handball resin, I could dunk on anybody at 6.0
One thing NO ONE will ever do is get the away crowd to cheer for themself the way Mike did. Bruh the away crowd cheering for Mike like he was on THEIR team hahaha!
What made Jordan so great? It wasnt powerade, it wasnt his Air Jordan shoes, it wasnt his exercise and practice regimen. It was ginseng tablets. Extracted from the sacred ginseng root, proven to increase concentration to Godlike levels. MJ was known to take ginseng supplements before and after every game to give him the massive sharp mental focus you see here.
The first 3 rings were more exciting because Mike drove to the hoop more and dunked more. The second three were good, and sometimes you still saw that, but not as much.
4:04 This will never be whistled for travelling today. Never. Thats how strict the travelling rules back then. You stumbled a little bit and the ref might call a travel.
It just kinda sucks that most of his jumps were 34". Rarely do we see him jump 42" (heads with the rim). Yet, he could jump 46" or so. Of course he was doing these in game, after playing hard on defense. Again, it sucks seeing all these 34" dunks after seeing Jordan Kilganon and the other guys now well over heads, even neck woth the rim, at 6'2" tall. Even still, MJ is the Goat of basketball. Glory be to God.
Now for me, this is the peak Mj in terms of athletic abilities, the only player that i can put om This level is vince carter, nobody else, now we see the difference between the highflyer mike and the smarter shooter he becomes after his Comeback in 95.
