After the awful A41 tyres had to go, finding tyres was difficult with some having leage times of unavailabillity of 3 months! Toby got some Mitchellin Road Pilot 6's…. WOW, that’s all he can say!

I switched to Road 5's on my Speed Twin, just before my recent France tour. What a transformation! They were really confidence inspiring in the wet and felt as grippy as the original fit Diablo's. A great buy.

After many years on Pirellis I switched to Road 5s about 3 years. I concour with your comments, my tyres have done about 4k miles and hardly any wear, and the grip and feeling are amazing. Best tyres in 25 years of riding.

Used Road 2 to current Road 5s on my Pan European. Excellent tyres. My 5s are now getting low on tread after riding 21,000ks. The Road 6 is my next pair.

I had the pilot Road 3s in 2015 on an MT07. They were exceptional. Sleet, rain sun. They even did a track day at Paul ricard. I sold that bike to a friend, he kept the tires on there till 30000km. I can only Imagine how good the 6s are now. Great video, thanks.

I don't care if they fart.....they can even let off a little odor at the same time for as good as these work. I've had road 4's, 5's and now 6's and have NEVER been disappointed! Every time I've bought a Japanese bike and seen it comes equipped with Bridgestone's I'm UTTERLY disappointed. I just say to myself well, there's a $550(+) investment for some new michelin roads. I had bought a new gen mt09 last year that came with pathetic S22's. I'm 62 yrs old, I don't hoon and do burnouts and stupid 💩. I was at the wear marks at 2800mi, thanks but no thanks! Then I found a screaming deal on a mt10 with only 1kmi on it but it has those "bloody" junk bridgestone's. Folks think it's so much to pay for a tire but I believe you're paying less in the long run. Got 11kmi out of some road 4's I had on a '18 mt09. They weren't ridden easily, they even saw a couple track days.

Sorry mate, your wrong about the s22. Granted they won't get you the same mileage, this is because they are a hypersport tyre. Not Sport tourers. They are designed for grip not longevity. So it depends on what type of rider you are. I'm a more spirited rider and can't fault the s22 for exactly that.

I'm trying michelen tyres for the first time, after my Pirelli rear went flat from many minute holes appearing with about 2000 klms still on the tyre , no response from the dealer , importer or Pirelli. Great so far , another convert. Great channel 👍 guys , always entertaining and informative.

Glad to see you giving them a try , as I said before I’ve put them on my gsa as well, haven’t done big miles yet but we’ll pleased with them. They were £300 in Northern Ireland, but I bought them in July when they had a £30 cash back deal on so worked out £270. Think the deal was on for July & August will be watching to see how they get on .

Just mounted my R1 with her 3rd set of tires at 10,000 miles. The oEM RS11 - absolutely amazing feel and grip, I felt like I could stuff a block pass up the inside of Marquez or sweep around the outside of Lorenzo on a 130 mph sweeping turn. But that lasted like 5 min . Seriously like 3000 miles . Then I mounted Battlax S22. Also liked them . Very good feel, turn in , traction. Not the RS11 but I wanted more longevity. Well at 7k they are beyond shot! I engaged Abs 3 times the outer day so I bought me a set of Road 6 Michelins. I’m getting them mounted today. I don’t expect the grip level of the Battlax RS11 but I don’t need it. What I need is a tire that gets me 10k plus and still allows me to ride a little spirited on occasion and I don’t want to have to stop and wait out a rainstorm as I had to do with my RS11 because I couldn’t find traction. I’m excited to try these out .

I've had four sets of Road 5s and I've just put my fifth set on for a trip to Spain. Faultless tyres in wet or dry conditions and inspire confidence. I can't see a set lasting 10K though. I've also experienced punctures on every rear. My latest rear punctured in Riano with about 300 miles on it. Purely my experience but I dont venture out without a repair kit.

I had an A41 bridgestone in 120 70 r17 which is a single compound tyre and it wore beautifully, consistantly over it's long life span. My preferance is for single compound tyres out front. Based on my experiance.

Yep I ride a triumph explorer. And am in 4th year with roadtec 01. Roadtec are perfect as long as your checking your pressure before every ride. The two companies who seem to have a more reliable stock level of tyres are 2 Tyres and The visor shop. It seems crazy that there are so few tyres to choose from. And also we could do with that extra 3 or 4mm tread at the centre of the tyre for for that extra bit of mileage. I think the tyre companies are cheating us out of that extra mileage. 👍👍👍

Agree 100% on the A41 being a bad tire. It’s probably the worst tire I’ve ridden on a motorcycle. I’m a Michelin fan boy and had the Road 6 on my 1260 Multistrada before trading it on a Multi V4S. Probably had 1,500 or so miles on them. I did find they got noisy when leaning into corners, similar to how the Anakee Adventures do although not as loud. In the US, I’m in for $500 at todays prices for a set and that’s removing the wheels from the bike and taking them to the shop myself.

I run bridgestone t32 on 2019 vstrom 1000 the wear was really weird they developed steps on front and rear and were unstable and only lasted 3800 miles .The funny thing is the original Bridgestone that came as standard lasted 6000 miles and were fine all the way through.

I have used the Road 5 on my Ninja 1000. Great grip, good tracking and just a little less responsive than the Michelin power 3. Got 10K miles out of them, though the last 1K the steering was too much effort, I should have called it quits at 9K. Now on my first 1000 miles on the Road 6. Very good too.

On my BMW 2021 S1000r I switched from an OEM set of Bridgestone S22's to a pair of Michelin Road 6's and am very pleased. After 1,000 miles I have found that the level of feel and control I have when riding is excellent, I have total confidence in how they perform on twisties achieving a lean angle of 34 degrees left and right and feel assured when pressing on. All my riding has been in the dry which is my preference but I am assured that in any inclement weather they will equally perform well, instilling confidence in myself when riding in the rain. I choose to switch to Road 6 as I wanted tyres that could offer me the performance that I had been used to in the S22's whilst at the same time lasting more than the 4k that I had achieved.

I am in doubt with the s22 or road 6 to mount on my mt09. I am a sportive driver on the roads, and next year im going to do 2 circuit trainings. Would de road 6 be also a good tire to drive on circuit?
@carllewis1691
@carllewis1691 Год назад
@@at0ny Well I have never gone around a circuit on my bike so I cannot really comment with any great authority apart from saying that the S22 are excellent for road holding and cornering they are more 'v'shape in profile compared to a more 'U' shape profile for the road 6'S. THE 'v' profile will allow the bike to drop into curves/ bends easily and the with the combination of compounds with sticky towards the wheel edge it should be very good around a circuit. I choose the road 6 as I only ride and plan to ride on the road but with its approach to 3 different compounds on the front and rear tyre you get a very well balanced tyre - it should last longer than a S22 - time will tell, it should be much better handling in the wet than a S22 (although I try to only ride when it is dry but you can get caught out) For me the handling around curves / bends on the road are excellent similar to that of the S22's I had. Your MT-09 is a powerful machine, well balanced and should be great around circuit so if you are not too bothered about how long the tyre will last for the S22's will be excellent but like me if you want a tyre that will last longer (as I said time will tell) and still offer excellent road handling (I am not able to comment on a circuit) then the road 6 I am sure will not let you down and you will be very happy with them. I hope my comments help you to decide.
@at0ny
@at0ny Год назад
@@carllewis1691 thanks for the reply. I have the s22 on my fireblade sc28 also. Before that i had the Bt016 ones. The S22 give more feeling in corners and they get guick on temperature also. For circuit i think the best option but i live in the Netherlands so at summers it can Rain also and want to have grip also when i drive and the weather change. I dont know how the road 5 or 6 tires perform with cornering on circuits like the s22 does. If they last longer then its a plus for me. The s22 i have on my fireblade i have them now for about 3300km on it, and stil good to go.

It's a weird issue with the road 6. They seem to run out of tyre before others I have ridden at least. I don't know if it's to do with the profile or what but it seems like you can't lean the bike as far on the road 6s. I now find myself having to hang off the bike a lot more just to try and reduce lean angles.

My A41 on my GS1250 is lovely, (8000km down)did trainings on a driving course with full rain braking circle with max angel in full rain and running by about 80km over a large rope ( 100mm ) . I was impressed by the tyres and the limits of them and bike . The only gripe it starts singing when laying in a turn. So my opinion is it depends on the riding style the roughness of the tarmac, the temperature (Spain is hell in the meantime in Sommer, unlike UK) why so many UK temporary Emigrants residing in Spain. ( understandable)I live in Berlin , so my opinion the Bridgestone 8 tyres are very good. I don’t ride in Spain. But anyway I will be putting on the Michelin Road 6 which I will buy for 303 euros = 258 lbs. Tires will be very different due to many factors.
