@Ordinary Sessel Then you know what to do, don't you? Advocate for free cancer screenings and better healthcare for men with cancer. Colon cancer, prostate cancer and testicular cancer are huge killers for men, and just because women have free screening and treatment programs for breast, uterine and cervical cancers doesn't mean men cannot also have free screening and treatments for theirs. Just because women have these free screenings and treatments doesn't mean they should also have to pay luxury tax on the only widely available hygienic solution to a natural bodily function they cannot stop or pause without serious cost to themselves (if doctors will even allow it -- too many are "morally opposed" to birth control). The fact is that tampons and other sanitary products being considered "luxury" items is a symptom of oppression -- it's a money-drainer on women, who are already paid less, making pay more for something they cannot control. And if the issue is that there is not enough tax to go around? Advocate for equal pay for equal work -- a higher pay for me also means me paying slightly more in tax, and those pennies add up. I'm happy for my tax money to go to healthcare. Advocate for the top 1% to actually pay their taxes on their wealth. Advocate for less of that money to be shoveled into military spending. Fight like hell for socialised medicine, so you can get that healthcare covered at the point of access. And if you're not ready to fight for those things, and you're only mentioning these issues because someone mentioned tampon taxes, that would be belittling to the men who do suffer with colon cancer, who had to pay for their screenings. Women have what we have because generations of us fought for it. We gladly hit the front lines to get men what equality is still denied to them, but you have to show up. Women can't do all the heavy lifting for you.

@Ordinary Sessel You haven't been reading carefully. We don't have to drain one health service to set up another. The wealthy have to pay their taxes (which they don't), CEOs have to pay their capital tax (which they don't), and we don't need to put billions (or trillions) into the military. We have to put that money into healthcare, into social services and incentives (another way to prevent illness). We can have both. Equality is only pie if you insist on one side getting the larger slice.

The right thing would be to provide equitable service -- the same high level of care for different cancers may require different amounts of money, as not all cancers are the same. But as long as they fund the same level of education for prevention and early intervention, hit the same high standard of care with similar rates of survival, that should be the goal -- even and especially if male cancers require more.

@Ordinary Sessel It would also be best if we take some of that money away from Susan G. Komen, the leading breast cancer charity that gives just pennies to actual care and research. That money can be better spent funding actual clinics for breast cancer, instead of expecting taxpayer money to do all the heavy lifting.

@Ordinary Sessel All of the stores you mentioned cater to men as well, they're not stores for women, they're stores for a specific category of item. Additionally, there are more stores that cater to men in the same way, such as hat stores, suits, clothing geared more towards male fashion, big & tall shops are more for men than women. In all these cases, I can still argue they're not exclusive to a gender, but a category of item.
