This is another tutorial using Micro-Cap to simulate simplified Class A and Class A/B amplifier circuits sent in by a subscriber. I'll demonstrate how you can analyze circuits and break them down simply to understand how to start working with component values to simulate and improve performance.
If you haven't heard - you can get Micro-Cap from Spectrum-Software for free, so help spread the good news that Micro-Cap SPICE Simulation software does not any longer cost $4500, it is now Free. It is one of the best SPICE simulation programs out there. This is a limited time offer, so get your free spice simulation software today.
Spectrum-software site closed but you can find it here, and it is pretty simple and fast to make an account. Once I finally get my website up, I'll have it there as well:

Thanks again for taking the time to go over the 2 circuits I sent you. You've provided a great explanation of things to look for. I'll for sure play around with this. I'm glad you demo'd this with the wider audience as it looks like you have quite a few fans whom have liked it. Thanks again and I'm glad you are feeling better.

I think that MicroCap12 is the best out there, I have used it in every design since 1994, Interestingly enough it has far reaching capabilities such a listening to the amp you just designed. By recording a short WAV file and specifying it as the input stimulus you can actually listen to the amp. Besides that you get the output wave that you can compare using an audio program such as Audacity and switch back and forth to A/B test the sound you are hearing. There are much more to it than at first glance, you can have mixed technology circuits mixing digital and analog circuits together without the need to simulate it separately. Eddie you are delving into the Abyss once you surf around the program like a pro there is little in the way of designing perfect products. It capabilities are enormous written by a bunch of super analytical engineers and scientists. Their models are not bad but you can get specific models from the manufacturers. It has super flexible scripting to create very complex subassemblies that can be used as building blocks in a schematics. To explain every facet available you will write a very thick book because there are many unrevealed magic in it. For something so complex it is difficult to generate an exacting operating manual. If your models are correct you can use microcap as a repair tool for a product as the voltages and current are precise. Eddie when you are ready I would like to share my unforgiven amplifier with your disciple's, it has almost zero distortion megahertz band width high output and an amp that will show the short comings of everything available out there, It is super simple but super hi-end in every respect, 4 transistors and current feedback, unconditionally stable. Something that is absolutely neutral and could be used successfully to create a particular house sound around it, like many high-end designers do. How do we contact each other? you can try mailing me : nico[at]ras[dot]mobi. I would go so g\far as help the disciples lay out the PVB designing a proper power supple and have an amplifier of their own that will rival everything on the market. We do it stage by stage so nobody gets left behind.

Thanks Nico! I agree, Micro-Cap is arguably the best too for circuit simulation. It has such a clean interface and so many ways to do the same thing. You don't get STUCK because you can't remember a certain function. I'd be honored to develop your design. I actually have a PCB software tool that I will be demonstrating soon. I was tying to settle on a design to help demonstrate how to use the tool and how to do proper layout and routing. My email is KissAnalog@gmail.com. I'll reach out to you as well;)

So glad that you are OK! Today is mothersday in finland too, so much love to all mothers. Been building them tube amps but i will design pedals like clean boost and overdrives etc.. And make my amp that has built in fx loop, to behave well with these fx pedals in the same loop.. And now that I have been using and learning Micro-cap, i love the idea to be able to test my circuits before building them. So again, big thanks to you, if you had not done these videos I would not know about this sofware! Have a great day! -Anssi

Hi Kiss, which multimeter do you suggest me between the Klein MM700 and the Brymen BM235 ??
@KissAnalog
@KissAnalog 3 года назад
That's a great question;) They Brymen is nice, but is close to 45% higher in cost. I like the MM700 for the lower price and robust package, and nice features. Here's the link: amzn.to/33PfChm

Hey, could you some time this year make a video on how to measure high frequency signals correctly on the load with passive probes like pp-510 from Siglent 1000x-e series. I am having reflected signals even on 100Khz that overshoot both on positive and negative, I am guessing it is because I connect to the ground with "long" ground cable that comes with a probe. I guess I have to use iron cap for the probe, right? I am using FY-6900 signal generator that has output impedance 51.2 ohms.

Id like to try and "Schematicize" my active speaker amp for archive/reference purposes. Maybe even make a gerber file if I ever wanted to print up a new board for replacement or possibly a clone project.

I am so afraid of this program going to the dump in the near future, there are 39 years of development and nothing like it out there. It would be so fantastic if the program could be developed and maybe be added a circuit designer. Is there any possibility for you to contact the CEO and ask if it could be allowed to go open source, I will be more than happy to give free space and domain. I think it's super important to do something now before everything is trashed! :-)

@UCSGP81YQIEsxo--cr2HtJFA Yes I know but I haven't got any luck, he has not replied to me. Eddie has got some response and since he has several videos that shows he is not just a "know nothing" may he have better luck. About downloading, There are a giant différance between the original source code and the finished program, to keep developing do we have to get the permission and the source code. :-)

Thanks Fried Mule for bringing this up. I'll try to contact them and see what they think. I'd bet that they would like this to keep it in the community forever;) The good thing is that this program is so advanced, it is far better than most any program and definitely better than any other free program. It also does allow for new parts and models to be added, so it will be relevant for many years;) The only real issue would be if the platform/windows changed such that it didn't run, but I think there's little chance of that for years to come.
@friedmule5403

@@KissAnalog Thank you!! I do really hope they'll release it as open source. If windows someday stops being published, am I sure that somebody makes a compiler to the new operating system! :-) Imagine if a huge amount of people starts to write modules and add-ons to it! You could in a way keep the original code just with added possibilities for writing functions and so on. in a way will you have a stable building ground where people can chose and reject what they need or hate! :-)

@@KissAnalog thanks a lot sir. I watched the video you sent. But I couldn't find a solution for my homework. I have to design an amplifier circuit has 200 gain and also circuits load resistor has to be 5ohm. I tried to design two stage amplifier becuse RL is so low.but I couldn't increase gain of circuit. I used bc547 as bjt. Can you help me about designing?
@donsolano8830
@donsolano8830 Месяц назад
Your single stage amplifier voltage gain should be computed by collector resistor value divided by emitter resistor value. The gain would be high if you put a bypass capacitor across emitter resistor.

Q1 has local feedback generated by R4, and constitutes all the gain of the amplifier since the output pair stage gain
