I like the idea of the "monster chasing you slowly" and especially how it unrattle Spar. I wonder if he'll make the connection that, for a long time now, in the eyes of Phineas, Spar has been that monster.

The more we see of Spahr, the more convinced I am that he's, like... the father(-figure) who *means* well, who generally wants the best for his son(/student), but really 100% doesn't *get* the base psychological differences between them, doesn't see the multitude of ways the Trust (and Spahr himself) has failed Phineas, and doesn't understand why the teaching/motivational methods that worked for Spahr aren't working for Phineas. But now, maybe, thanks to Phineas's breakdown, and thanks to Sherman, Spahr's starting to see the truth of things...

So things got even more interesting. I actually am hoping that lark and phineas stay together longer. And they delivered on that. But I do feel for lark. The situation is way beyond her control and understanding. TZila needs something stable right now. Phineas needs a direction. Makes me more invested in knowing what is going to happen next week. Things have gotten very interesting.

So, after this episode. I'm fairly convinced Lark hasn't done something big, but it's instead someone big, probably this couple lost child or an illegitimate daughter at least. Of course, Sherman know/suspect her kid is with Lark and he also know/suspect , she liked Fuse. If he want her daughter found, letting people know this two things, would be useful. But i don't know if he would betray Lark like that.

While it's a cool thought, I don't think it's possible? I mean, the glass has to be able to withstand being constantly hit by random shards of mica. Isn't it reinforced like armored vehicle glass?

I wouldn't watch them if they were an hour long tbh, seeing something in the sub-30 min makes it more "bite sized" and I am willing to have a go at it, but when it's longer than that, it enters a category of competition in my brain with all the rest of the things I could instead be listening/watching for a longer period, and there are a plenty in my life. I doubt I am alone in this, for example, I have noticed that I am waiting for all Ahsoka episodes to air before getting to it, procastinating watching it, but I am somehow managing to watch every weekly Futurama episode. Just easier to "slot" shorter media into a busy schedule.

@@yavorvlaskov5404yeah, same. One hour would probably be my limit, I have trouble keeping up with the regular CR episodes already (not to mention Candela, who knows when I'll have time for that). I think they're being very smart on keeping Midst short. They know there's a limit to how much people can watch per week.

One one hand, yes, on the other, they'd still need to switch scene sometime, and 10-20 minutes feels perfect. Maybe an hour long special where the action cuts chaotically between simultaneous scenes?

God I'm so excited for more. I have to wonder what Lark did that makes the Trust want her so much. It's gotta be like... this is maybe a reach but is she connected to either the Trusts founding or the last economic crash that happened? No idea, but I'm excited to find out. Also since the CR team made Candela Obscura, what are the odds of us getting a Midst TTRPG game???

A part of me wanders if Loxlee is helping people that Breach. He offered Valor to Phineas to break even, since we was only one Caenum away.👀 but that may be too much wishful thinking for a super duper rich guy ^^U

I'm sort of wondering if there's only ever one Caenum per person. After all, the last Caenum is the only one that matters, and it wouldn't do for someone to, say, parody the upper Trust by arriving uninvited to the Gala or to some other high-society occasion wearing nothing but their Caenum. Also, we saw the waitstaff at that place Imelda (sp?) took Weepe to, and they only had the one Caenum on a string, just like Phineas did.

One of my unexpectedly favorite things about this series is how completely u readable Spahr is as a character. I want to trust him, he seems like a good man, all cops are bastards, and all of it is intimidating as hell.

Poor Sherman... what a way to find out that your daughter might be trapped on a gibbering hell world without you able to go help. Edit: Oh, that's not good. More thorough (brutal) questioning about either Larke or Weepe if i has to guess. Maybe MAYBE Tzila, but thats from a very much more conspiratorial, Crack Theory than the other guesses.

Anyone else think Spahr and Thatch might be in a more than working relationship? It first occurred to me as a possibility a few episodes back when Thatch had to take his armor off and was thinking he always had a squire to help, or Spahr. And Spahr seems to have some kind of hangups about Thatch and concern over thinking he was trying to impress him by beating Sherman.

If you're talking romantic? I don't get that vibe although I could be wrong. More like Thatch idolised Spahr (maybe crushing on him?) but either way Spahr was totally oblivious to it because being idolised is just normal for him. Up until now, Spahr as someone born into Valour and having *no* practical experience of how it feels to be on the other side, I think didn't understand that there were levels to the power dynamic between him and Thatch that were bigger than rank. Now he's putting the pieces together and the picture is starting to look a lot like 'Oh shit! I accidentally gaslit my subordinate into thinking their worth as a human being rested on earning and keeping my approval. Am I a toxic boss actually?'

Huh, for some reason this one seemed to me as a kinda slow episode, didn't really hit it for me like some others, but still had some interesting moments :D Well, the only thing that made me wonder is the facts the mystery crime happened 50 years ago and Fuze having worked for Loxlee for 50 years as well. Come to think of it, I also wonder what the hell Hieronymous has to do with Sherman, how would Spahr develop after this conversation, would they really fire Phineas when they eventually (or will they even?) find him or would they just make him undergo like extensive course of "how to be Prime Consector's Adsecla" and as Spahr said be put into deepest deb... Ahem, receive a huge amount of Caenum to his balance... Apparently, not so slow episode after all :D

I'm sorry, but Sherman's reason for running to a place that is filled with villainy, monsters, and cosmic forces that can kill/disfigure/mentally scar you on a whim? Because he doesn't want his daughter to chase the dragon of valor? Selfish and stupid.

Sometimes, the real monsters and villains are those who think they're above you and control you. He did what he thought was right and knew nothing would ever change if he didn't act on it. Both living in the midst and being controlled by others are both pretty bad situations and he chose which poison he'd rather have one that he believed would lead to a more promising future for him and his daughter. Plus, desperation does something to a person. Feeling so hopeless and out of control is such a horrible feeling to have. Even if he ran to a place filled with so much bad, at least there he had a choice to gain control of his life and tried his best to provide that for others.

The problem is that the "dragon of Valor" is always chasing him. Look at Phineas, look at his grey box of an apartment, and remember that he was Adsecla to the Prime Consector. Second-in-command to what is, in essence, the Highest Light's chief of police for the entire Trust. How much worse would it have been for a bartender, even the one at the Delagny, even the head one at the Delagny? Chasing the dragon of Valor is what caused Phineas to snap, I don't blame Sherman for getting his daughter out while the getting was good.
