I have the 14060 Purchased in 1998, it is superb and robust keeping a great time. Never let me down and never more than plus 5 seconds. Only serviced once in twenty years. The 3000 movement, the same as the movement in the Explorer is just wonderful
i have just brought the 14060M a 2001 model as its my daughters birth year. So nice when i hand my watches down to her. i love that it has the look and feel of vintage original sub. I have a Deepsea dweller james cameron and a jubilee 2022 GMT batman, so this fits nicely in the collection.
So tempted to get the 14060M, but the hollow end links are a turn off. Although the watch itself is a beauty. Simple and to the point. I've worn the ceramic Sub date and really like the bracelet and clasp.
Jsuarez6, well the 14060 is a bit special, case wise it is beautiful but the bracelet isn’t state of the art. But: it is the most comfortable thing you could wear. And the Watch itself is a strap Queen. This is what it makes it so versatile. But one suggestion: try out the omega Speedmaster. It sounds strange but these watches are somehow alike. Bracelet there is solid, It has as well a classical look improved slightly over the years, you can get easy a brand new one and it doesn’t (bought grey) break the bank. I let my sub go because of my speedy in my collection.
Curved spring bars (pins) are available from several manufacturers which should enable you to fit any strap you like (provided it's not much bigger than 20mm!) to your Rolex. I have a 16610, and cannot decide if I like the newer 116610 or not . . . if they'd only made those fat lugs just a little bit thinner!
Seems we do have a similar taste in watches. Good comment about the springbars, I use mainly Watchgecko straps and the one which do come with their straps with more or less good result. I don’t mind the current references and my GMT is my favorite watch in the collection. Do think though to flip my 14060M as - I don’t know - I expect a lot more quality wise? Hard to describe, I love this particular sub because of its Charme but same way I find myself preferring to wear my 116713...
Rolex Submariner NO DATE - THE ULTIMATE Diver's watch !!! Just probably the ultimate everyday sport's watch ! Your review of Stowa Flieger Klassik 40 was much more conclusive with much more details about the case, the dial and the caliber. I am missing all of that in this review ! Please, do make yet another review of your Submariner with more info on the above mentioned details and with illustrated differences between various editions of Submariner. Thank you !
Cheers mate, i get where you going at, i do have a regular Submariner special in the making but that will take a while, sometimes I try something new and that's with this video. Good hint, I'll consider it for sure. Thanks 🙏🏻
As I really adore Submariner No Date - I would like to know more about it and about differences between it's various editions. You may even try to give us some directions to what to look for when buying older editions pre-owned, used, 2nd hand. Thank you in advance !
The problem with the Submariner is that there are thousands of different types and variations to fill hours of content with. The Submariner special will consider the history itself, the development of the watch and of course the differences of the models. I hope I can cover your wishes though, thanks again for your thoughts and input mate
Just if you like to really get in too the sub I can recommend the book "the Submariner story" from Mondani. These guys did check out every reference and every SE. The subby universe is huge, that book really gives an great overview to the detail.
I just sold mine. already kind of regret it...it does have some flaws and build quality issues but the character and charm is there, unlike the modern ones. Its one of my favorite watches ever, along with Explorer I. I just bought a couple Seikos and Steinharts and put the rest away in the bank for now. If I get back into expensive watches again I will probably get the 6 digit reference no date and wear something like a Steinhart OVM on the nato for fun :D
If you the 114060 wear it, don’t put it to the bank safe, they are great watches and deserve being worn. But a Steinhart military looks better on a nato than the 6 digit Rolex references, for sure🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah I meant I put the money back in the bank after selling the Exp I , Exp II and Sub. Maybe in the future I'll go back to Rolex but I have other uses for money besides watch hobby:-) and stowa , sinn, damasko, tudors, steinhart, I nejoy just as much
Marvin Spann, Hard to answer: how big is the difference, seconds, minutes? A watch gain or loose time depending on how you lay it down? When was it services before, is the behavior different to what you had before? Does it bother you? ...
I heard the 14060M started as a four liner, then went to a two liner. Does anyone know the years you can find a 14060 two liner? For me that feels like the most idea combo.
Hi Rob, it’s actually the other way around, the 14060 started as 2-liner and with adding the chronometer certified testing it became a 4-Liner. It should be mentioned in this one if not it’s part of part 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Idzra7BhnPs.html
@@mb-watches Thanks for the reply! That's actually where it becomes unclear, because I keep finding two line ms out there, and was told that the standard 14060s started as a two liner, went to a 4 line with the ms, but then made two liner ms at the end. I was told it was a k serial number. Now I'm curious about this mysterious two line m that seems to be floating around out there. Or just maybe everyone marking it an M is just wrong.
Wusste gar nicht, dass du diesen Klassiker in deinem Besitz hast. Tolle Uhr wird vl eines Tages mal meine Geburtsjahr Uhr...1989, finde die no-date Variante auch am Besten :)
Well, when I bought the 14060M new i payed 4K for it. Sold it for 4,5 after couple of years. It’s crazy how those pieces shot through the roof. And I do agree, now the BB58 for sure is the better watch.
Well that’s two very different watches. But I do prefer the gmt over the sub and the ceramic gmt with the super jubile is fun. I would go for neither of them as I love my 116713LN😁
The reference you see there is the pre ceramic version without the parachrom hair spring, at least not the 14060 models. A good one you should find from 4,5-5,5K€. Or you just get the regular cermamic nodate witv all the nice up to date things like a ceramic bezel, Better bracelet and as well the parachrom hairspring
I am not so sure about that mine is 2009-2010 V and hasn’t, but I have to admit I don’t know. Let me investigate. But I would say you Pay for a decent g from 2012 about 5,9-6,2K, wouldn’t pay more. Thanks a lot for bringing this topic up though, it’s interesting to get into. 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
