I have a ton of respect for this guy. He was a great pure scorer, and even though he was stuck on those bad Kings teams, he hung in there and never forced a trade. It annoys me how all the "superstars" that play today do that

A very well-deserved spotlight. Even being a huge NBA fan during the 90s, I feel like the only time that I ever saw Richmond play was during All-Star games (post-Warriors days). I knew he was good, but had virtually no action to go by.

Omfg finally. Richmond was a better SG than Reggie Miller and that's a fact friend.
@MrBrunoTheBest
@MrBrunoTheBest 10 лет назад
Miller = Better in every shooting% category, higher career PER, higher TS%, higher eFG%, higher WS ratings, while playing more seasons than Richmond.
@goldenboyangeloo4044
@goldenboyangeloo4044 10 лет назад
So all you could say was Reggie was a better shooter? Richmond is better than him
@MrBrunoTheBest
@MrBrunoTheBest 10 лет назад
Richmond is better ? That's just an opinion. Elaborate on that with proper statistics. Definition of a ''Shooting'' Guard : ''The shooting guard, also known as the two or off guard, is one of five traditional positions on a basketball team. A shooting guard's main objective is to score points for his team.'' So yes, since Reggie is more efficient than Richmond at scoring points, he is the better SG. Reggie has also a bigger 3-pt attempt rate %, and still averages a higher 3-pt%, which is pretty difficult to do. You think Richmond is better because it has slightly better Per-Game stats ? Richmond = 96.5 Career Average Pace Miller = 92.5 Career Average Pace Which means Richmond stats are inflated...
@goldenboyangeloo4044
@goldenboyangeloo4044 10 лет назад
Richmond could create his own shot easily. He got stuck on a bad team which made him look bad. Reggie had the offense ran through him with screens and couldn't create his own shot for nothing. He was a good player there's no denying. But his percentage is higher because of the play style he was in. Put Richmond in Reggie's position and Reggie in Richmond's. he would thrive with or without screens and plays drawn up for him just as he did on the bad teams only a lower percentage. Still great numbers for the percentage, also he would have average probably a good 6-7 assists in Miller's shoes as well. Plus he was a better defender if my memory is not deceiving me.
@timolau7390
@timolau7390 10 лет назад
Angel Encarnacion But Reggie's ability to run off those screens is what makes him almost impossible to defend. Richmond is easily more versatile but Reggie is better offensively simply because he was so good at using those screens. His percentages are much better because he is probably one of the best shooters of all time. Compare Reggie's TS% with any other SGs and you will see he is miles ahead. Reggie also has the 2nd best offensive rating of all time and while offensive rating is a team-based stat and should be used with caution, the huge disparity between Reggie (121) and Richmond (110) suggests that Reggie is much better offensively. I don't think Richmond being stuck on a bad team made him look worse. If anything, his stats benefited, because he got to shoot a lot more than Reggie did. In the playoffs, Reggie was able to outscore Richmond while shooting less because he was far more efficient. Reggie's edge in offense and efficiency (where he is an all-time great) is bigger than the edge Richmond has in rebounding, passing and defense. Richmond is underrated but he is not better than Reggie.

Super underrated. People always call Drexler and Reggie as 2nd and 3rd best Shooting guard (no#2) after Jordan in 90s. But tbh Richmond was better than Reggie, and was better than Rockets Drexler most of the time. And he was one of the toughest (if not the toughest) opponent of MJ: sadly never being part of a winning team. For his siz he is probably the most versatile scorer of 90s right after MJ .. He had mid-range, 3pt, post, iso, coast to coast and under basket finishing. He wasn't flashy as Jordan or Drexler but he was efficient.
