I like the fact that they can be used without wraps and still have ample padding. Swapping betwene gloves and focus pads for partner work always is a pain with traditional wraps.

When it comes to MMA sparring gloves sizing, is 1/2 an inch enough of an allowance to account for handwraps or should i just size up? Im ordering online so cant try the gloves

I have the L/XL gloves and i can wrap my hands fine. I also dont always wrap them with these gloves personally and I have no issues.

How do these MMA hybrid gloves feel on your sparring partners face? I used to wear 14oz boxing gloves when sparring in JKD about 50% to 65% of hit capacity. I weigh 182 pounds for 5'9". So I wonder could you do the equivalent without your partner wanting to rip your face off for hitting him so hard? Thank you!

I have never had any issues with them in regards to getting hurt. I have taken some good hits, couple bruises here and there but overall they are extremely durable and padded. Again I mostly use them for self defense training

im tryna find good gloves and i've been looking into these but the thing that i have difficulty with is the ounces of the gloves. i like the ability to grab but the places i compete want us to make sure we have gloves that are the appropriate size ( i.e i should say ounces).

I’m a size M in most gloves (20cm circumference) but I’m 5’10” and 190 should I get the medium or the large gloves because the size chart goes by weight instead of hand size

They sell those gloves at my gym and the designer those gloves aren't unique to combat corner. But I will say telling people they can go all out with those gloves isn't such a good idea in sparring you can easily knock somebody out with those gloves
@francoismorin8721
@francoismorin8721 3 года назад
Did you compare those gloves with boxing gloves? Some say that even if some sparring MMA gloves are smalller the padding still feel like bigger boxing gloves. I used to train with 14 oz gloves in JKD. Did you get to compare the feel of being hit with those CRNR gloves?
@ParisLawLess
@ParisLawLess 3 года назад
@@francoismorin8721 being the fact that I've been hit by in thr face with 8 oz boxing gloves in a sanctioned fight no being hit in the face by those MMA sparring gloves or nowhere near the same as being hit by 14 oz gloves. The clubs are noticeably smaller than 14 oz gloves and also you tend to get hit deeper in the eye more. Anytime we're doing MMA sparring we never throw anything close to full power. So unless you like concussions if you buy these gloves still pull your punches.

@@ParisLawLess Thanks for the answer. I was thinking of sparring between 30% to 60% depending on the partner. 30% more for warming up or for beginners. I don't want to go in the ring with those. Even 14 oz can stun you good if placed properly. I haven't practiced sparring in a while, but I want to get back at it. Last time I did, I was in a dojo, and I had my big 14oz mitts and this guy wore smaller gloves, probably MMA hybrid. I was tired and the dude saw my moves coming (he moved well and had some Muay Tai training with some famous asian instructor) but these small gloves gave him an edge. We did not go 100%. I probably went 65%, but it felt like he went more. I did get a few hits on the face, but I am proud and have a little training behind me so I took the challenge. They did give me more of that stunning effect when getting hit by those smaller gloves then with 14 oz boxing gloves. Not the same dispersion. More concentrated. We do not usually go more than soft to light semi-contact in traditionnal dojo, but he was an advanced student and I guess he wanted to test those techniques he learnt in those semi-private Muay Tai classes. I had a JKD background so I decided to practice my boxing all the while. Anyways, story short I did not like the edge those gloves gave him, even if being honest I learnt a thing or two from that little exchange with him. It is mostly in JKD that I trained contact. If I wear those and hit my partner 50% to 60% which is basically what goes out when you relaxe and just hit without transferring to much weight from heel, knee to fist. Friendly sparring. Below 50%-60% you have to slow down your movement and that is counterproductive. This is why I want to know if I go to about this hiit capacity of 50-60% will my partner just feel like I swinged him a 80% hit? I am thinking of giving martial arts classes in the future and I am researching for good gloves for me and my potential students. I want a more traditionnal dojo, but I believe that some sparring is a must to prepare a practitionner for a real fight. Other wise you get those bad habits of just doing soft touch or point fighting. I had those before and I don't ever want them again nor for any prospect student of mine. So fom what you say about those MMA gloves, I am a little doubtful. I would like MMA hybrids because my background is also in taijutsu and there are locks and throws. So my quest for the perfect hybrid MMA glove might not be over LOL

@@francoismorin8721 for strictly self defense purposes, we can go decently hard without worry. Yes you can still get knocked out if hit just right, but this gloves allow us to train self defense situations at a decently high pace without worrying too much. We still watch it just for the fact of not hurting our training partners. I have not sparred mma in a while but the guys I watch still go 60-80% no problem. Knockouts are always a possibility though no matter what glove you have. I just like that these are a bit more padded for our self defense training. Then again we arent sitting there wailing on one another like mma fighters
@francoismorin8721
@francoismorin8721 3 года назад
@@staysafemartialarts Thanks for answering. If you say you saw guys sparring 60% to 80% no problems, then I would consider those gloves for everyday sparring 30% to 70% depending on situation. So far those Combat Ready MMA gloves seems the best on the market. I am also considering the Fairtex FGV18 Hybrid gloves. They seem pretty much on the same level. But both are are to get on the Canadian market, especially due to the covid19 confinement, the customs taxes are tripled. I remembered the first time I stepped in a boxing ring I was with a smaller guy then me, but a good fighter, at one point he gave me an uppercut, it felt like a hammer, then followed with a straight punch to the plexus that brought my guard down and paralyzed me and a mean one step cross hook to the face. I had an helmet that turn all the way to my face. I was bonkers and I stopped the fight myself. 100% is the closest to the real thing. If you never felt it before, you just don't know how crazy you have to be in a self-defense situation and just don't let the agressor ANY CHANCE! Because the agressor won't. So from this moment I say in self-defense you should experience at least one time in your life a 100% fight with a skilled sparring partner.
