Still not a fan, the amount of blatant lying from them before the game came out was insane. "500 hours to 100% the game, 80 hours of just story content" and how bland the game is after 7 years is a huge let down. DL2 doesnt feel like dying light 1 but better it feels like a cheap knockoff because techland fell into that stupid open world formula that everyone else is using, clear the outposts, save someone in a random encounter yada yada yada, its just like far cry but with zombies and parkour at this point

i think its ok personally i want spears to be a new weapon class that cannot be thrown so the opportunity weapon spears are still viable and also bringing back the melee throwing and allow weapon retrieval with the grappling hook almost like the van crane skin i also want more zombies not just new zombies but just more of the existing zombies in the streets during both day and night

They need to make the world more dynamic and "alive". For example, they could add randomly generated zombie hordes that consist of many zombies roaming through the city and forcing the player to stay on the roof.

The world feels alive, very alive. I'm always running into random events, pk's, renagades, survivors telling storys or having a funeral. In my opinion the world is already alive

try the MOD called "i am legion ultimate survivor" this mod gives me the same feeling of terror and intensity as dying light 1 and it makes the world more alive, npc's will be patrolling the streets at night aswel

Yeah it could be DL2's The Following DLC maybe with different mechanics maybe instead of a buggy a motercycle or expand on the paraglider and make a cart glider? There's on in FC6 that works as a land vehicle and an aerial vehicle. Idk just spitballing here.

I would also reduce or remove some of the chemical areas to make them explore able,add camouflage like the 1st Dying Light game! Loved that feature cover yourself in blood and sneaking up on zombies or past them! Wish we could throw weapons at zombies! Look at what people loved about the 1st game and add those features into DL2!

That of the chemical areas is basically the limiter of the game map cause there must be something to stop the player from falling from the maps limit lol

Dying Light 2 needs the following in my opinion: (this is long so) 1: Expanded Choice overhaul. In the Mission Water Tower, You now make 4 choices, each with separate outcomes, 1: Fight Me! ( You fight Jack and Joe, causing peacekeepers to surround the building, and depending if you used a blunt weapon or not, arrest them and later hang them publicly, having peacekeepers lower the amount of zombies on the street but bring new problems) 2: Lets Negotiate. ( You Negotiate with Jack and Joe and set up a shop, where you can get a portion of money at the cost of fighting in the streets between desperate survivors) 3: Go ahead ( You tell them to detonate the tower, depending on if you removed all c4, it would not blow up, and lose access to the choice path, if you didn't remove the c4, The tower will blow and Renegades will move in and wreak havoc) 4: Plead ( You bargain with Jack and Joe to hand the water over to the streets and survivors, this would be the best option for a Hero run) 2: Weapon Crafting. Knocking down a sign or something similar will let you dismantle it, giving you ripped sign sheet x2 and Metal Bar x1 allowing you to craft either a 2 handed axe or 1 handed twin axe. Makeshift weapons are not durable, but vary in damage as you upgrade your survivalist skills. This also decreases the amount of weapons in the world, and the most common are damaged makeshift weapons from humans 3: The Survivalist skillset allows you to loot for better items, and level up in crafting, this ties with Weapon crafting as well. 4: Dynamic Zombie Populations. When you clear a street of zombies, the street will be mostly empty apart from a few stragglers who wandered from the block over, and will be repopulated after 3 in game days. The streets have a slight chance to harbor survivors if the street has a water fountain. 5: Survivor overhaul. This is obvious but instead of having it to where every survivor suddenly has the balls to try and solo a demolisher, they will run away when anything like a group of 10 biters above swarm them, and survivors will now turn after prolonged periods of nighttime exposure, and will flock to the nearest uv lamp, also under THV chemical area they now turn into virals as well, with new models, like bleeding gums, or chipped, and damaged body parts. Also zombies will eat survivors who were grabbed and pushed down, so they don't just fall over after dying being grabbed. 6: Wound overhaul. When being hit in the leg, humans and zombies now move at a decreased speed with a limp, with a blunt weapon, if their leg were to be hit, with a critical strike, you would hear a bone cracking and they fall to the floor and scream alerting virals and zombies to bombard him. kinda brutal ngl 7: Peacekeepers being Peacekeepers. The PK will now fight bandits and renegades to protect survivors or players, and arrest them if the enemy is subdued and not killed, the player can help, however the PK rather take their job seriously and don't like others Helping. 8: Zombies react to the light. In vanilla Dying light 2, You could watch as zombies were unfazed by the light, only virals and volatiles were affected, so now biters on the streets now travel to dark zones, so the roads are mostly empty besides the brave ones who want to finish eating, or have trouble getting inside at daytime. 9: Open world events. "Criminals" would be Executed, and those who were had signs explaining why they were executed like in E3, where we saw a corpse motionless and "Stole Bread" across a sign Plucked into the body's chest. 10: Zombie Degradation. Some zombies, will have their skin cracked and rusted, making them have less health, and easier to dismember, but zombies recently turned will only have minor cracks, and be harder to kill.

I would love to have atmospheric changes, make it more like DL1 with screams being heard, explosions, that little groan bit of the music we loved in 1. Just, give it a gritty atmosphere, not just a girtty recolour. A proper day/night cycle. The game right now has the sun and moon fade out at 3-4 different points...it's, really sad, especially since DL1 had an amazing day and night cycle. HORSIE GIMME A FOKIN HORSE

I would love them to polish the color grading and and makeshift weapons like one that is a one handed and can turn into a two handed weapon and be the zombie mode would be cool. Also I would really like a legend skill tree because after completing all skill trees the double xp events it seems pointless.

those 2 handed weapons that you cant modify nor fix. they need to be made so we can repair them. and im trying hard to find a heavy duty axe at lvl 9 so i can mod it. but no luck so far... did find a few when i started the game at february inside those GRE loot containers but not anymore. now you only got heavy duty axe once story is done and its a pathetic lvl 6 artifact only...

Some of the things that dying light NEEDS it's less animation AND More Ragdoll, you see, every Time you try to push a zombie to the edge It always plays some animation and stays in the air for several seconds, what dying light could improve Is that they put Ragdoll first, not animation first, like in the first game, you see infected triping and falling all the Time, you kick a zombie and they could fall, they could trip and fall to the edge, That doesn't happend on DL2, DL2 needs More Ragdolls.

That's why I don't like DL2 Was really disappointing. I waited so long for this game & when I played it I thought this game sux. It's not like DL1. AT ALL! The story line sux everything about it sux. I would not waste my $ on this game. I hope dead island 2 won't disappoint me.

I think dead will ne no horror, no open world, it will be funny and colorful.. so dont expect something like DL1

For me the thing i want the most is a change to the weapon animations the first games animations felt amazing so much weight and it felt so real dl2 just feels off when swinging weapons i cant exactly say what but theres something another thing id like to see is locations similar to the ones we see in the intro and another necessary change is a rework to the blueprints add them in the world and make them more unique

I think they need to add more variety for the GRE hospitals and dark zones! I liked how the quarantine zones in the first game were and I think they need to do something like that!

We need 1) More storage like In DL1 2) Easier dismemberment, something like the bloody summer event 3) The option to replace howlers with volatiles through the game settings so they can chase you like In DL1 4) The option to throw your weapon at zombies 5) increase the height when tackling a zombie off a building so they won't disappear mid air and make you fall to death 6) The ability to tackle volatiles again because it's very very fun and realistic

I wish they added the feature for zombies to do different attacks when you cut off their limbs, I remember experimenting with it in dl1 and it was so fun, in dl2 you cut off the limbs only when finishing zombies, they die after the dismemberment, it’s lame

i think a madmax like focused dlc would be amazing for a the following 2.0 dlc. but also have the map be a big city so you can both parkour and drive around at the same time. i think this would make for some awesome missions and gameplay

It’ll take sometime, but I do think they’ll add in nearly every pathing the community wants. When it comes to the guns, I agree that it should be makeshift ones. They can still do plenty with that. They could even add in a sling shot that lets you use smaller grenade like ammunition, mud balls to blind enemies, and rocks to lure away infected or human enemies

I mean, if people wanted to manufacture weapons then it would just take someone to backwards engineer old weapons and use lathes to create them, it wouldn’t be very difficult and people would realistically be able to do it. It’s a bit silly to say that firearms aren’t around after the end of the world tbh

Make it scarier, more consequences for being discovered at night. Maybe adding also a flying infected with not to much health but annoying and scary looking. Les human dlc and more lore about the virus with infected(volatiles) that are also evolving to be smarter killers. Going against zombies or volatiles that can open doors or look for ways to jump scare or outsmart you by hiding or flanking you would be a trill to play.

The obvious thing is transmog and quicker animations but that wingsuit idea sounds amazing. I think that they should make dlc 2 or 3 really open and tall and that's how they introduce a wingsuit

Id just like to see more replayability for endgame players something like a raid that would be like the prison in DL1 or a group of renegades trying to take over an electrical station and if you dont save it then you lose electricity until you clear them out also some sort of mini boss at the end of dark zones that make them feel more unique that would give incentive for them to add a sort of a survivor rank like in DL1 another thing would be armor set bonuses giving them a more unique style of play they could add weapons that suit each class like the Scorpio for the ranger or a chainsaw for the tank something to make you the apex predator with the right setup which would make it so you could have different roles for Co-op

I hope techland focus a bit more on the factions. Like it was nice taking parts of the city but ,other than that, it’s pretty’s dull. Like it would be cool they added faction quest where you could assist in a peacekeeper patrol or help a supply convoy for the survivors. They could also do like a sabotage mission where the survivors sabotage a pk outpost.

I would like to see the current lower rarity weapons drop as a higher rarity as well. I understand there's supposed to be like a difference between a factory made unused hatchet vs one made from bicycle gears, but there's so many cool Jerry-rigged/handmade/improvised weapon models that you just won't see because they simply don't drop as strong weapons

-3rd person camera -More enemy types (just not bullet sponges) More random events (the ones you get after new game plus aren't terrible but I quickly got bored of it, it's always the same things and the rewards are pointless I don't even pick them up) -More variety in the environment (more interiors, more colourful buildings, more points of interest like a pool party!) -During the day, there need to be A LOT more generic zombies on the streets to give a reason to free-run on rooftops. During the night, there need to be A LOT fewer howlers, like you can't even sneak around a little bit before a howler notices you and starts a chase, it makes you not want to explore at night (I just skip nights unless I need to go into a dark zone quest.) -More useful NPCs, especially at settlements. You get one guy you can buy from and if you're lucky one craftsman, other than that you have your bed and stash, there is no other point in going to a settlement. There should be more useful interactable NPCs in settlements that we want to go and engage with. Think of Fallout New Vegas and what their settlements had. Doctors, shopkeepers, military personnel/guards, criminals, bartenders, gamblers, hookers, faction members, quest givers, mechanics, gunshop owners, sheriffs, vigilantes, sickly people, beggers.... There are so many characters that you can introduce to this game that makes more people interactable which makes the world feel less dead and more lived-in. You don't have to bring every NPC from fallout but I'm sure there could be a substantial list of lore-friendly roles that could be given to the good-for-nothing NPCs that just stand around now. -Upgradable settlements that give passive bonuses to the player. Maybe when you first establish a settlement it's not much and there aren't a lot of people there, and in order to attract people (depending on the faction) you need to upgrade a few things on it. Like you need to have a source of food and defences in order for settlers to move in, and if you want a trader shop you can do a little side-quest for it, and you can have things like travelling merchants visit your settlement if you have an inn, or instead of having guards around the settlement automatically, you can unlock them with tier 1, 2, 3 etc. with each giving more protection to the settlement and boosting morale therefore enabling more NPC's to come, growing your settlement and allowing new building slots to become available like craftmasters and other new type of interactable NPCs

Why is no one mentioning the ability to throw weapons??? That was an iconic mechanic from DL1 and they just completely got rid of it! It added a huge amount of extra flavor to the combat (edit: he did mention it) Okay also, a smaller and easier change I would like is to sliding, because it doesn't feel like it's at all based on speed or momentum. You move forward and hit the slide button and you slide at a fixed speed for a fixed amount of time, which usually means I end up getting stuck when trying to slide under things or I'll just randomly slide after walking forward for 0.5 seconds when I'm trying to crouch.

I would love to see big changes to the story. I know, this would be massive, but making overarching changes, and making choices have more meaning would be amazing. I just want the game to feel more "full." For instance I want more zombies especially the volitiles and specials. It just needs more difficulty and the fear aspect needs to come back. I think in the original even with less zombies it still felt full because of the constant fear factor.

-new parkours and combats animations, to do something more smooth and quick -revisit the progress in the movements, by which I mean that even at the maximum level, I feel very slow, much too slow, I make efforts but even then, I remain slow (PS: I master all the movements of the game) -a BTZ like gamemode -maybe a ping system and a chat in multiplayer -remove QTE like open a case, get crystal, turn on generator because it's a bit annoying and add insta escape from biters, virals even maybe volatiles -make the game more immersive like humans turn on uv lights, zombies came out on buildings, add new environnement sounds

In dying light 2 I would like to see a faction overhaul making the factions have life like having wars seeing more world events like the executions and water lines and rallies and they should add a building mechanic where you can send squads to go clear out certain buildings and you have the choice to make it a garden, armory, gym, pk military base or like to send people to go take a point on the ground to build a pk check point or on the roof to build a bridge with uv lights and so on but they also need to make the renegades a faction. They also need to make the infected more present in the game because right now the factions and people make it feel it’s only the renegades are the issue and the zombies are just there not really doing much during the story not once did either factions really care about the zombies. They also need the world to feel more alive.

No Man's Sky, they literally went AWOL after failing the launch miserably and then came back with expansion after expansion making the game great and giving the community what they said they would. They also seem to listen to them too.

I REALLY want to play as infected aiden. Hopefully Techland will add it in a update or DLC. Because I'm on console. Also if Techland ever adds a Be the zombie mode. I hope they give it some PvE features like you can free roam as the zombie or something. Because playing as the zombie or infected aiden is a lot more fun then playing as a human. ^_^

I’d like to see like a 4v4 tower defense mode where players can be the zombies like L4D kinda. You can be a viral, biter, banshee, demolisher, volatile, anomaly, etc… Cool way to implement some survival mechanics too. Stun finishers need to come back with more oomph and TL creative flare. DL2 has plenty of blood but not much gore. Mid-combat dismembering instead of being relegated to the final hit. Old school DL1 zombies which should still exist here and there. Hopefully they’re addressing this. Weapon(type) rebalancing. Remember when finding a orange katana was hype? Some perks should be combined or used automatically like safe landing. Bash/crowd runner.

I said wing suit just as an example. The bigger picture would be multiple if not like 50 different nightrunner tools players could switch out between. Maybe they can increase the max cap for holding them to 5, and players could switch out and customize their load out depending on their play style. So in theory, you would not HAVE to take the wingsuit.

yeah I'm the same I think having Aiden or someone we know from DL1 having to finish off the volatile version of Crane rather than just seeing him turn then nothing else being seen of him because that was the most frustrating part of the following DLC but I think it was deliberate so they have the option to bring him back if they want.

I remember i had a dream about dying light 2 once this was before the first trailer was released but i was still hyped as fuck. I found myself in front of a two story building in the theme of old town from dl1 infront of me was a run down city reminiscent of the slums from dl1 but more developed, there was a horde of zombies down the road none luckily had noticed me so climbed up one of the buildings and saw a dense city where no two blocks looked alike every building a unique height color style but still so rundown none looked out of place it was miday but looked more like orange moonlight i saw this building with a billboard atop it practically as tall and wide as the building itself i saw myself get atop the building and found a wooden hatch just like the ones from dl1 and from a 3rd perspective from another building, i saw myself enter. It was a dark hallway dimley lit by a light so dark my gut hurt with anticipation for it to burn out, it didnt, i found a sleeping bag and duffle bag akin to dl1 safehouses and the dream ends the entire dream felt like i was in the painted loading screen from dl1 where all the colores where orange or black with the only change in color being the light in the building it was blue

Bounties available at the start of the game after the prologue. Be able to pick up arrows again but let have some of them break with arrows have a durability. A harder difficulty or even a survivor mode where you need water and food

The biggest issue this game has is the physics, they need to fix them asap. People underestimate how game changing it would be, and how much immersion would be saved. The main problem would be that they also would have to change the AI so the humans don't just rush to you and trip into the void. I mean hell yeah it would be funny, but if one enemy does it, the others would have to learn how to avoid it instead of brainlessly falling one by one.

Dead Island 1 did a decent job with the Fury mode (pretty much like the infected mode where different characters got abilities). I think they are going to do something a bit similar with Dead Island 2 if not make it a bit more like DL2 with Aiden’s Volatile mode

And I think they should at least add a long range weapon like scorpio or like the air gun from metro. And one idea for a future dlc could be VNC tower volatile nests. I think for the infected thing they should make it where if your immunity get to critical than you slowly start turning more and more Volatile like, and then when your immunity get's to infection progressing you start to get stronger until your health runs out causing you to become fully infected leading to a game over screen. I think it will be great if you get into a fight whilst having low immunity. It can really change how the combat works.

1. A rework to the combat system. Arena mode is coming out and I hope they change a few things I never see anyone ever use the block mechanic (myself included) and I think that's just silly what's the point of adding something new if literally no-one will use it so I hope they do something to make blocking more necessary rather than just dodging every attack (also remove parry and dodge slowdown) 2. More story I suggested this awhile back but a sort of story update to reintroduce alot of the cut story (or even new story pieces) would be great since rn the characters I care about are Frank, Lawan, Hakon, and ofcourse Aiden everyone else can literally die and I will not give the slightest fuck because I don't know shit about them like what can you tell me about Jack Matt or Juan? other than their personalities, which is important mind you, I know nothing about them. 3. New NPC dialogue and models, reintroduce hunting add survival mechanics that require you to eat or drink or hell if you don't wanna do that make it so your infection no longer goes up with UV after you take a certain amount of inhibitors. forcing you to manage it with Immunity Boosters or UV shrooms.

A lot of things in this video are pointless and won’t even really fix the game. Stuff like enemies dropping their weapons, the weapon throw ability, which like you said, I rarely ever used in the first game. 99% of the time the weapons dropped from enemies sucked. Medkits being craftable would make the game too easy.
