When Black Adam said "it's about drive, it's about power. We stay hungry, we devour. Put in the work, put in the hours and take what's ours". I knew it would be a movie.
When Black Adam said "can you smell what the rock is cookin" then dropped the Peoples Elbow on the demon i knew we had an Oscar level performance on our hands
I honestly quite enjoyed the movie. Sometimes a movie doesn't have to be thought provoking or an emotional masterpiece. Sometimes a movie can be fun and goofy even if they don't intend it to be
@@filoz2005 Your wrong. Most comic book movies are generic run of the mill popcorn flicks. There are a few movies out there that are actually thought provoking such a Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight, Captain America the Winter Soldier and Logan. Maybe there's a few more I can think of but, not that much.
Dude I saw a photo of that on Twitter before seeing the film on Saturday and was expecting to see it and boom I did! It’s when he’s going forward fast and the camera is on his face. Like near the end of the movie
It made me laugh so hard thinking of the fact that when he says Shazam and loses his powers they had to edit him to be a lot less jacked and yet he was still more fit than the average man.
well he was supposed to be fit, he was doing hard physical labour as a slave. also in the comics black adam was a competant warrior before he got powers too, which they tried to show in the movie when he escaped.
Yo! I make entertaining videos as well. I know I am not the best rn but give me an opportunity, and I won’t fail to put a smile on your face! I appreciate you thanks❣️
Fun fact: they created a standard superhero costume for Dwayne, including the padding they always use to make people look superman. He tried it on and they realized he looked better just with his own body.
Yeah, and imo I think that's a lot to do with the fact that the movie doesn't take itself too seriously, the writers didn't treat us the audience like we're stupid they gave us the exposition we needed and then added new information when it was needed, they didn't try to come up with some contrived explanation for why everything was going on it was very much like an everyday sort of thing, people are treated like people rather than facsimiles of people.
I thought the smasher hero kid was significantly "cringe". Jumping out of the plane "hey, is it higher up than before?" and gets pushed out, when he says to Adam "Hey, be careful! I almost hit you!" then hits Hawkman with a hand gesture on accident, and when they're trying to get the locals on their side and he accidentally knocks over an ancient statue, and is like "Was that expensive?", and several other times. He was the only thing that stuck out to me character wise, there was some really bad looking CGI a few times, but oh well.
The action is definitely the highlight of this film. The story isn't genre defining by any means but it didn't really need to be. It knew it was and it delievered, while also being surprisingly entertaining.

Really enjoyed it. Solid 7/10 from me. It was a good fun movie and it didn't take it self too seriously. It was also nice to have a colour pallete rather than just gray and dark.
I just saw this movie last night, but this movie I didn't have much bad thoughts about, definitely was better than I thought, and the action looked nuts

I found this film so fucking hilarious, I watched it with my friends in the cinema and the screen was empty because the tickets were expensive, so we just pointed out eye brow raises, and scenes that the Rock looked out of place in. There was a scene where Black Adam is seen on a security camera, and one of my friends said "Fnaf". There was also the scene where he is skydiving and I said "where we dropping boys?" Half of the dilm was us laughing at eachothers jokes, and absolutely loving the action scenes.
I really liked the part where black Adam drank Zoa energy to get the drive and power to summon moana. Truly a masterpiece of a film that Dwayne carried. But in all seriousness I absolutely loved dr fates character and black Adam killing bad guys was so refreshing since bat man would never finish his foes. 7/10 movie and 2 of those points is because of the rocks character

I loved Black Adam for its excellent portrayal of the character and his arc, but also because it was a superhero film where they did superhero things, and not a glorified talk show like WW84.
@@TheSinatra they did, like A LOT, but it's more his presence and delivery that make the character. He's the one character in the movie who has a gripping performance
Doctor Fate was easily my favorite DC character even before this movie, so it was super hype to see him portrayed so well on the big screen, the writing on this movie was honestly great and the heroes were fun and likable too, compared to what Marvel has been pumping out this is a masterpiece
When Black Adam said "I am Adam, prince of Eternia and defender of the secrets of castle greyskull" I really felt the emotions the director was portraying
Black Adam going on a killing spree is absolutely his MO, so I'm not surprised to hear that's basically what the movie focused on. I'd also imagine there's no plans to change that for him like you said.
Also, Dwayne Jhonson did a good job in this film because he played his character really well, and it didn't just feel like Dwayne Jhonson being Dwanye Jhonson lol.
Black Adam in the comics was always a straight savage. Never interested in what right, just looking out for himself and his people. And strong as fuck too, strong enough to beat superman.
He was good, but the fucking way he was portrayed was so shit. He’s much stronger than everyone else in the movie combined and he has to sacrifice himself? Please.

@@MrKangorilla why the hell would anybody go to sit through an entire movie just for a post credit scene that they could see by googling it since it’s already posted online
@UCkeZCedFQ_SD4DMnI8KStOA CGI and action were great imo, unlike the last few Marvel movies. I'm okay with the story being full with plotholes and very bland, DCEU is currently a rubble and they're trying (AGAIN 😂) to see what works and what doesn't. They should really capitalize on MCU taking their fans for granted.
@@junilog Agreed. I thought the visuals, action, Dr Fate, were all great. Far better than Marvel this year in those areas. But I prefer weaker CGI and action, over a bland story and a film with no style of its own. At least the last 2 MCU films had that in some capacity. Where this was so insanely generic I lost all interest, especially that 3rd act with a full CGI villain I couldn't care less about. It's still a fun time don't get me wrong, but man I really thought this could be something special.
And sheeps complained about Marvel being generic. DC is no better. I’m tired of villains turning anti- whatever. Can we please just have a good villain? No sob story or some some other bs. Just straight up evil.
@@KhanMann66 Zod?? Steppenwolf?? Doomsday?? Suicide squad?? Sivana?? Ares?? Adam seriously has been the only villain turned anti hero somewhat. You’re definitely talking about marvel with villains turning into anti heroes.
If you are going to watch an action movie in the theaters you should propably watch this one since there aren’t any other movies going around. It is a fun action movie and better than you would expect by watching the trailers but I wouldn’t say ir is a great film. It’s just good at what it is supposed to be.
@@MaddMaster69 except she-hulks cgi isnt as good nor is its fights. it has far less action and no where near as brutal. but yeah story wise its about the same level.
This movie lives and dies by it's action scenes and I gotta say, they're pretty fuckin awesome. It's not an amazing film or gonna blow your mind with it's complex writing and characters but it absolutely succeeds in being very entertaining throughout. The post credit scene definitely has me hyped for the sequel
I genuinely feel bad for kids growing up now whose only childhood movie/cinema experience they are going to remember 10 years down the line are going to be these superhero films.
Ah yes, Black Adam. The lesser known descendant of the Blackadder family who decided to change his name to distance himself from his family's sordid history.
Slow motion in a fight scene is just movie shorthand for "we're uncreative and ran out of ideas." It was played out more than a decade ago. Using it usually shows me you're a hack. Not that it can't be done well, just that it almost never is.
I'm glad they made good use of Pierce Brosnan, Dr.Fate is easily the best thing to come outta this. Even in the trailers people mostly just cared about him.
Agree 100% with the kid superpower thing. It's also not smart marketing. Yeah kids will wanna watch that, but adults won't. And those adults will stop watching, and the kids will have to drag their parents (who also lost interest) to go see it.
I disagree. If they made superhero films like the comics, it'll either be too graphic or it'll go over the kids' head. Making it for children caused the kid to whine and cry until the parents cave and take them. The toys make them so much more money than the film itself.
This movie reminded me of when I’d wake up for school remembering I had a narrative I had to write due that day so I grabbed a pen and just wrote random crap to get to 500 words
I just loved how Black Adam just non-stop Genocide and Force and how he changed without much dialogue, it just seem very goofy and funny to me but I gotta say The Rock pulled off the Bad-ahh characteristic.
The movie was enjoyable for the most part for me. It did what it was supposed to do for an origin story of Black Adam well. Dr Fate was really cool in this and I hope he makes a return in the future.
I was working last night during the premiere of Black Adam and it wasn't really busy, not that many people went to go see it. Working at a movie theater could get boring sometimes
Weird how they’re trying to market a super hero murdering people as a big deal after Iron Man literally did it back in his first movie about a decade and a half ago.
I loved this movie, hawkman was soooo badass(talking about THAT scene) it was such a cool and fun movie,no stop actions and some comic reliaf from time to time and it was a joyride would give it an 80/100 score or maybe even more
As far as that whole bit with all the regular people fighting off the demonic hoards, I honestly would have been OK with it if it was JUST the fat guy. I love the idea of him charging in and soloing those monsters because he knows they can't kill him without electricity. Great way to take advantage of his fate.
The part that was cringe was the little kid going to people fleeing from a fire demon and going "Hey everyone, we spent our whole lives being conquered lets take our city back" and then people actually following him.
@@varedna Yeah. That and actually beating a warrior from hell with his skateboard. All that plot armor must be why his mom keeps putting him in life threatening situations despite constantly ranting about how much he matters to her.
