Perfect area to ride, and the audio and videography are spot on! Riding right up on the motorcycle trailer...Classic! 👍 Great adventure on a brisk February day!

Totally agree! It was a really fun. Thanks for the comment on the audio. I let the exhaust come through a lot more and the new helmet helped with my voice being intelligible. Except the Texas drawl part...can't help that. Thanks!

@@swcoloradoadventures the microphone is so good Ron, I could probably tell you what your pulse and blood pressure were by your breathing. LOL. The bike purred like a loud sewing machine.

That was an epic ride Ron! Not often I get butterflies in my stomach watching a video. What a perfect place for the Himalayan! Mine is gonna be bored to death lol.

Thanks, Andrew! Yeah it was about 40 F. Thankfully the gear held up well and the only negative was a cold nose when going slowly.

Great video Thank you for taking us along. Beautiful area I'm going to plan a trip up there soon it's a 7 and a half hour trip from Tucson Az. But it will worth.

You're welcome! And coming from the south side of the world, this area is just the beginning. I am considering going further north next week but waiting on weather. Thanks!

Wow, your a lucky chap , this is proper wild west, given the chance to ride these roads I'd go all John Wayne go for a pony with saddle bags full of pinto beans and beef jerky. 🇬🇧👍( dream on) 😎

@@swcoloradoadventures got a recipe for proper cowboy beans, cook it once a week for me and my daughter. Got the idea for them watching the old film The man who shot liberty valance, sounds a bit random, but its probably the best western film ever. 🇬🇧👍

Fantastic area Ron, reminiscent of my time in the Himalayas. Perfect Himalayan territory. What I wouldn't give to accompany you on that ride. Thanks for sharing this one buddy. 😎👍

@swcoloradoadventures Год назад
Absolutely! I am surprised the Himalayas were so arid. Probably depends on which side your on at a given time. Thanks!
@martintraffordmoorlandbike7121
As a matter of interest Ron, what's the bike rental situation like in your neck of the woods? I was across at my sister's in November, but she's way up in Ohio, which isn't really my sort of area, so crossing the puddle doesn't hold any fears for me any more.

@@martintraffordmoorlandbike7121 There are quite a few places to rent bikes, but, they are typically around the areas with the most trails. That is for dual sport type bikes. Silverton and Moab. If you want to rent a street or dual sport bike, a big city would be the way to go, but quite honestly, I have never looked into that. I know many Harley dealerships have a rental program, so their new Pan America may be available for both. They haven't been super available but that may change this year. I know they are gearing up that end of their business from my sources at the dealerships.
@martintraffordmoorlandbike7121
I think I'd be happier with something like a CRF 300, if there's no one renting Himalayans. Just pipe-dreams at the moment. Thanks for your replies.👍

Hey Christopher! It was a pretty cool place to ride. That place was about 2k feet less than I live and I did not even need to make an adjustment. It did really well in my opinion. No complaints! Thanks

Good afternoon sir. Just out of curiosity, have you gone to a lithium battery yet for the Himalayan? I am still waiting to take my MSF course and the cycle sat for a while since my last ride up and down the driveway lol, so now she won't start. Wondered if you had heard of any good lithium batteries to help solve this issue? Thanks - Shane
@swcoloradoadventures
@swcoloradoadventures Год назад
Hey Shane! I have a thought and suggestion for you. The thought is what kind of battery does your cell phone have? If you let it set, it drains as well. So, regardless of the type of battery, especially in winter, I have always kept my bikes on a battery maintainer that plugs in to (included) a pigtail from the battery. There are different battery types available that are better than stock, but they will all need the same loving attention. Here is an inexpensive option from Cycle Gear that you can use for research. Its a good investment. Hope that helps! imp.i105279.net

@@swcoloradoadventures Thanks for the quick response and totally agreed on all points. I had been firing it up once a week thinking that would keep her topped off but I was wrong haha. (Or I just had a bad battery, not sure). I will need to find some solar powered trickle charger I think since I don't have electric where I store it. Hoping a lithium will also just hold the charge longer...but I know how lithium in my gopro sucks in cold temps...so that does have me concerned lol. Thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can find. - Shane

@@DnSAdventures Absolutely! And, there are solar options out there. Check for RV supplies categories. That's where I found the last one I bought.
