Cool, nice thing to do. i was among the lucky few that saw Seaver pitch at shea back in the 1970's. one game i was at unfortunately that he lost was fan appreciation night 1976 against the Expos former met Wayne Garrett hit a grand slam off him. bummer.

Best pitcher of all time. My favorite Met of all time. I got to see him pitch once at Shea and he won the game. I am sorry to hear that he has passed away. RIP Tom and thanks for all the great memories.

Hear I am, a born and bred Yankees fan, shedding tears for an all time great from The Mets! Funny, I have a chronological connection with 2 Mets pitchers. Here's Tom Terrific born on November 17th, while me and Doc Gooden were both born on November 16th! Something about us Scorpios, being the most publicly private individuals in a world so eager to nitpick every detail about a human being! Here's to a great sports legend. I'm a life long Phillies fan but Tom Seaver was always one of my all-time favorites. It breaks my heart that this moment of silence for him was in an empty stadium when it should be packed like it was for Gerhig.

I am very upset because no one from the Yankees were out on the field to pay respect to a great pitcher!! I am sure that the Met's would have honored a Yankee player if they were at Yankee Stadium! How sad!

He has five Cy Youngs in my mind. He was screwed in 1971 and 1981. Seaver won 64% of his games during his first Mets duration and the rest of the Mets won 46%. Is there any reason why he was called the Franchise. In 1976 he was screwed with little run support going 14-11 and I watched countless games where he allowed 2 or fewer runs and didn't get the win. The Mets organization sucked wasting his prime with crap surrounding him. Guys like John Milner and Ed Kranepool hitting 4th, what BS!

Don't forget that in the 1970 season he had a shaky second half, spoiling another Cy Young opportunity. But he still took the ERA and strikeout crowns. 283 Ks may not sound impressive today, but at that time it was a record for NL righthanders. And he broke his own record the following year with 289.

surreal this is done in an empty stadium. 100 years from now (if we don't do something about global warming it won't matter) people will watch this and not have a clue, 2020 is a year that will live in infamy, and hopefully we can start the healing process by getting a certain new yorker OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE!
