While you have the cam cover off, re-torque all the chamshaft bearing caps to 10Nm, ( a quick and easy job to do with the cam cover removed) (Tightening sequence is on page 2B*18 of the Red Haynes manual.

The dread nut at the back of the upper inlet manifold and the bolt to the side. Alot of work to change rear plugs. Nicely done Gary

Well Gary you & the guys that watch you, i'm in awe. This video blew my mind. Really interesting but how you know where everything is and gone and is connected to. Amazing. We all have a gift or skill given to us. I look at you and think how the heck did he do that, but then you might think that of other people. Fascinating but blew my mind. Excellent stuff buddy.

Aaron is an encyclopaedia for Ford and Vauxhall engines, good choice for the gaskets - Reinz are the best gaskets on the market. Keep going on the ST, it's an appreciating classic.

That engine has been well maintained with regular oil and filter changes, well worth changing those plugs as I suspect they are original and probably one of those parts that get neglected on this type of engine. Great video!

You did a good job there Gary. The only V6 I've worked on was my own Ford Granada Scorpio which had the 2.9 Cologne. The spark plugs were a bit easier to change because the engine was inline. NGKs are the best plugs by far.

One thing to add, whilst u have the rocker covers off, it's a good idea to re torque the camshaft caps. The bolts on these have a habit of coming loose. Top video though as always mate.👍

Absolutely, especially the bearing cap (s) nearest the water pump, first sign of them loosening is a tick or tap sound that you would think was a lifter. I believe there was a Ford recommendation on this but mainly engines used in various American cars?

Good job Bert. The Reinz gaskets are top draw . The Hillman Imp was a turd for over heating a Reinz head gasket was a known cure for it.

What's you opinion on checking the camshaft retaining bolts, it's a known issue with some of these engines that they can work loose. I think there was a recall on the Maverick with a torque down sequence. Also is it worth doing the PCV valve while you have all this off?

I've come back to this because I've gota do all of this soon. When rain stops. Perfect video thanks. Out of interest. Why did you put the gasket on the head lid 1st? And I've been reading that you have to tighten the head in sequence, torque, then re torque to finish. Do you think that is necessary?

You could really help me out here. I done the spark plugs a could of months back and I can't put it back together because that little hose you can see at 5:41 which has a red hose inside the black sleeve, one end has a bigger rubber thing. I cannot for the life of me find where it goes! Please help.

@@ProjectMan thanks. Come the end of the video I found out where it goes. For some reason there was a blanked off rubber hose where it should of gone. (It was the hose that goes underneath the throttle body and into the engine. Can you tell me what the hose is called that goes to the rear rocker and the aim maf. Mine appears to be snapped. Much appreciated.

Can see why you didn't do the back plugs Gary. They are a complete pain in the ass to get at. Taking the cover off required me to lever that lifting bracket back while I was doing it. Good video though chap. Nice car.
