For anyone else who enjoyed the backing track and was wondering.... it's called "Uncle Achmeds Porchtime Jamboree" by Nathaniel Johnstone ..very cool jam. Excellent Monkey Hut as well. Inexpensive and will keep the rain off my 420 garden just before harvest. Thanks for sharing
looks easy enough , im gonna make something similar to this to provide shelter for my pig ,and drape a tarp over it , will also do this to provide shade in my goat pen for next summer ..thanks for posting the video
i was looking for some kinka canopy for my boat..... and this is by far the best idea iv seen yet !!!! iv been looking for 2 days and im going to build your Monkeyhut 🤙🤙🤙super easy ✌✌
Used trampolines for the arches, some 1x4s of 1x6s for Purloins billboard tarps for the cover. A couple of ratchet straps and some mobile home anchors so it won’t fly away with the 1st storm might consider leaving a foot or more open at the bottom for air circulation
Imaginate Ya compre el material . Lo pondre de tienda Para vender mis mariposas . Y mi comida colombiana . Gracias a sido de ayuda para miii . Weeee . Rikooo
Hi. Nice video. I’m planning to build the same using PVC also. But I’m concerned about the stability of the structure for strong winds from all directions and from a rain downpour. Is the PVC strong enough for such situations? Thanks.
Hi fellow burner! I am in need of a structure like this for my vintage rv which I am renovating. Can I employ you to help me with the proper dimensions of materials for my specific project? Thank you so much in advance for any assistance. :)
At the center it's about 7 feet high. You can make the center higher by staking the legs closer together or you can lengthen the legs with a union and an additional length of pipe (use PVC cement).
Will be interesting a steam kart..or a steam teslagun..or simply a steam electric generator..(to use wood to make electricity..better if make's double combustion and less contamination..can be really usefull..in spain now we have a lot of legal problems to use solar panels..)
This design uses the standard 10’ long sections, it’s just over 6’ high in the center. If you add length to the sections you will likely need to add guy wires to keep it stable in the wind.
Oh you can just cut the rebar at an angle, I forge a point because the groud at Burning Man is really hard. The must is Uncle Achmed's Porch-time Jamboree from nathanieljohnstone.com/evidence-of-past-misdeeds.html
Question, how is the middle support pvc not bowing and flimsy? Is it the fact the spacing is short? The tension on it from the outside/legs pushing on it? Cuz I tried to make a money hut awhile ago and it literally just fell apart.
I totally could have just cut the rebar with an angle grinder at an angle. I did the points because you are always exhausted when you arrive at Burningman by bus and it's usually about 100F and the playa surface is an alkali hard-pack so anything that makes getting your shade up quick and easy is a big plus!
Right now it's on it's way to Burning Man in a shipping container on a rail car. It's survived three burns now and we use in in the spring in New England to start plants.
@@JakevonSlatt That is so COOL... I need something that I can cover over a Class A RV... The reason this would be great, is the fact I can take it down and take it with me... or even move it around. I am also working (refurbishing) a Vintage Tiny Travel Trailer. I "Flip" RVs... this is my 25th and 26th RVs to FLIP... Since I'm 64 years old, I am assuming these 2 will be the last ones I FLIP... (I keep telling myself that)... LOL We have "Burning Man" here in Santa Fe New Mexico. Thank you for sharing this video... Great job.
@@judichristopher4604 Cool! I'm not sure if you could up-scale a Monkey Hut to cover an RV. Try a search on "pvc hoop house" and see if anything fits the bill.
@@JakevonSlatt very true but the single length helps with windif you’re only gonna take it home from Lowe’s it’s worth leaving at 20 and cutting down to 16_17 but your point is well taken
I saw the torch and turned the video off. No matter how good this video may have been it got a thumbs down for using a flame torch and PVC. : ( Edit: I went back and viewed the video all the way through and liked what I saw. So I changed my vote to a thumbs up. yeah!! = )
What are you talking about? I was putting a point on the steel rebar to make them easier to drive in to the ground--where I use this (Burning Man) the ground is very hard. Also I use a "flame torch" on PVC all of the time to shape and bend it, it's a valuable tool if you work with this material.
Sweet Jesus John!, he took that extra step because maybe the soil on his land is hard, but generally speaking, you wouldn't need to do that to rebar since it's so narrow. Jake did an exceptional job and just showed me how to save some cash.
@@JakevonSlatt I don't remember watching this video. So I want back and viewed it all the way through and didn't see where the torch and PVC were ever used together. So I changed my thumbs down to a thumbs up vote. To all the people I managed to upset I apologize. It got a thumbs up guys. I'll even edit the comment I made to show I gave it a thumbs up.
You can also just cut the rebar at an angle, of course. I'm guessing that you did not hammer your copper pipe into the desert in Black Rock City, I doubt that you would get more than one use out of it, that shit is hard.
