I'm a little late to the party but out of all the instructional videos on the Slash, you by far have the easiest to understand. My son and I really enjoy following your channel
i watched your vid and it still took me a couple hours. my car is a bit different: rustler originally with all the rpm arms, strc alum shock towers, etc, on a LCG chassis to lengthen the wheelbase from Stadium Truck to SCT length, GRP wheels, slammed and limited suspension, etc for on road bashing/dragging. cant wait to try it out tomorrow after the loctite cures.
Thank you very much for the video! I was wondering about this product's practicality, and after seeing you vid, I'm not so sure I want this, lol. That rear sway bar without modifying seems like a terrible idea. And after seeing how the front sway bar barely moved the opposite side, the whole product seems like a waste of money. I'm thinking we could do the same with coat hanger wire! Hopefully I discover a better product, as the HCG Slash NEEDS a sway bar!
that is a good spot for it to go on because so it won't move around like you said about it being in the shock tower so with it being in front of the shock tower that's a good place
Any chance you can tell me what size wize loom you used for motor and esc wires?would like to do the same just not sure what size to go with that'll fit nice and snug on wires.thanks
also if I could make a suggestion as an rc viewer! I guess this would be for both you and dark! it would be awesome if there was some content on how all these cool upgrades improved the vehicles performance! for example, I have the 2nd slash and wanted to get the sway bar kit, so now that you showed me how to install it, is it worth it? did you notice a good improvement In the handling of the truck? thanks
how come you chose the blue instead of silver because you know the sway bars help the body roll and if it's to stiff then it won't roll at all and you do need some roll for grip and for jumping and landing so it doesn't bounce
the stiffer the bar the harder it is to bend. the silver was too weak so when i had them in place they did hardly anything. the sways are supposed to help even the rc out in turns so its harder to roll. too weak and they have no effect
Do you still have one of the pro-line transmissions that kojot donated to you? if so would you sell it? or maybe also donate? i would love to own it, I just cant pay full price.
+RCBros2000 how about any other spare parts? im sure what ever it is id be better than what i have in my slash 2wd, doesnt have a name but maybe i should, lol. if you dont like or for some reason dont want to donate i might be able to buy some stuff
So I'm gonna do more research into sway bars before I buy any becuase I'm to lazy, anyways, my truck is a HCG slash meant to hopefully stand up to my 2wd yeti trophy truck and prove whether solid axle is better for rc trophy trucks, or is irs better, I made my yeti 2wd cuz I was tired of people saying OH it's a 4wd it will win kinda thing, plus you can't gear 4wds as fast as 2wds, anyways I want my slash trophy truck to say but not crunch into my body with my big trencher tires, know any high fender flare bodies I can use? Instead of limiting my sway completely ruining scale preformance.
Btw, if you are looking to build a scale trophy truck, go with axial or team associated. I have a custom built slash track runner with HCG chassis. Sway bars would help to reduce the amount of sway bars on that style of chassis. With an LCG chassis, however, you dont need to worry as much about body roll due to the center of gravity of the truck being being much lower to the ground. Honestly, it depends on what you are looking to do. For track purposes, ide say yes to investing in the sway bars along with other high-end parts. If you are looking to have fun in a park or street, dont worry about getting sway bars. I hope this info helps out in the long run. ^_^
its just a disclaimer its just like "keep out of reach of children" or "warning: flammable" but you dont hear people saying companies arnt original about that. the disclaimer is worded perfectly for what is needed to be said. what more do you want me to say?
RCBros2000 I know, I'm a big fan of DEH, and a lot of RC ytbers copy his style. I understand what you're saying, I just think you are just a little to repetitive.
what would you suggest i do differently? ill gladly give it a try. what im doing is pretty much what i wanted to do. and i diddnt see a need to "reinvent the wheel" with jasons set up. and its not like im doing it behind his back. me and jason are really close friends.
I certainly appreciate the effort you put into these videos and they are very helpful but in my opinion you totally copied darkeclipticheart and his series of videos! just my 2 cents! cheers!
everyone is entitled to an opinion. me and Dark are close friends which is kinda the reason i did it in like him. when it comes to making videos on youtube its kind of hard to get going when you had no idea how to start it, what i wanted to do lined up with jasons layout perfectly. so with his permission i used it. tho i like to try and do things that arnt just off the self upgrades. like this video for example.something different. i diddnt expect to get as many ppl calling me a copycat cause i used to do gaming lets plays on an old channel and a lot of gaming channels are a lot alike.
