Justin the reason that Maus (the second one) was because he had the legendary decal that is "did you angle today?" A Maus like that is so much harder to defeat a true rival xD
It's indeed a Stalin era tank, being build in the late forties c: I had the chance to see the prototype at Kubinka. Impressive tank, looks very modern for it's time imo.
then, there are the T-10s heavies, they were named IS-8 and IS-9 under development and IS-10 during production, but because Stalin died, they were rebranded as T-10
justin, to kill the maus, flat cheek, and if he angle the turret, shoot the mantlet, it's only 100mm almost flat and overpressure will do the rest for you. i killed maus with my m26e1 back in the day with that tactic. BTW i also have is7.
@Ravenman my teammate (a leo) just gets his barrel and tracks and says "Hey buddy u can now bully him now all u can" and I took pleasure with it (and he j'ed out) That's the story
The IS-7 had quite a bit of prototypes made. It was very advanced for the time it had a semiautomatic loader, automatic fire extinguishers. It's armor was made to withstand the Jagdtiger 12,8 gun the side armor according to the chieftain was it's side armor is the same as its frontal armor the lower half is 100mm of armor. New suspension system not used on other tanks of the time. All the tanks for the time would not and could not pen the tank. BTW judging by the Chieftains footage the tank if fairly spacious especially for a Soviet tank. Problem of the tank was it's weight which was about 70 ton I believe so logistics of this vehicle is not possible for the Soviets so they cancelled it and decided to pick up the IS-8 and then a year after it wass introduced it was renamed the T-10 due to Stalin's death. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jp0gf46YVeA.html&ab_channel=ConeOfArc more info at the link about the IS-7
I ground it out. What a nightmare. It was a beast, put a talisman on it, had like a 5 to 1 k/d to start. But heatfs etc and the up tiers caught up and the repair was up over 22k. Its been in the shed for quite a while. You didn't fill me with confidence about bringing it out again. Its a sad shadow of a great tank. The heavies might be over except the object 279. That seems to still do very well, however mine is still sitting as a coupon unused.
@@jeddelse9036 No I muck my way through some events if I like the vehicles. If I don't like the vehicles, I sell the parts. The coupon is from the event. I nearly didn't cash the is7 coupon, but my mate talked me into it.
I remember playing warthunder ages ago, and using the testing grounds, and being absolutely terrified of the day that I had to face the IS-7, because I could never pen it in the testing ground lol.
I wish i didn't redeem it since it's so expensive now, but at the same time it has generated me millions of RP and SL with a talisman in the past and still performs well at 8.7 paired with the 279
Justin the IS-7 designed in 1945 and construction Ceased in 1949 with only 6 built including the prototype. After that the USSR started building T-10 ‘s
Since the last time you played it you said you didn't really enjoy it so I thought a revisit of it would hardly be in the works but I'm glad you brought it out, one of the best heavies in the game! It can take a decent amount of punishment due to its trolley armor.
Yes indeed I survived operation summer and I yes I agree that was one of the most grindiest events I’ve ever done what made it worse was that you had to an event to qualify for this event that was regarded and but you did get the T-34E with armour package and a camp for it for your effort’s, the only thing I liked about it aside from the fact I got my IS-7 I’m so proud of this thing in my hangar but you actually had to build each and every component, the hull the tracks the road wheels the gun the 2 14.5s and each machine gun, the radios the transmission the engine everything that was awesome and how these crafting events should be non of this building 3 vehicles to trade for another crap
Weird to think what it'd be like in War Thunder if the IS-7 actually went into service. Like, in real life, the main 2 reasons it never went into service were the price and weight of the vehicle (the Soviets were shifting away from heavy tanks at the time, and figured the IS-7 would be too difficult to transport). But, like, imagine if those weren't a factor, and this was in the tech tree because it went into service and was mass produced in real life. It'd be a pain in the ass to fight, that's for sure.
It’s a fun tank, I remember having lots of sleepless nights grinding this out in the event. I’ve put a talisman on it so it kind of pays for itself. But like the AVRE when I got play it, it always puts a smile on my face. 👍😄
Do you know what I did after I finally grinded the IS-7? I watched the credit of war thunder. In my terms, I beat the game. From then on, all the modern stuff are just dlc/post credit content for me, I can grind but I don’t need to
I've started playing war thunder, and my best tank is at BR 2.7, so it would be great if you were to do a video with low-tier tanks. Other than that, I enjoy your videos a lot. You 100% deserve more subscribers. You're like Phyldaly with less subs
No Justin is not exagerating how hard this thing was to get. I got it in the event and didn't spend a cent. But I sweated blood including out of my eyeballs. So when I play it now I have a love affair for it. Just for all the blood in getting it. But it's not all that special in terms of current competitiveness; but I still love it
Since this thing is so expensive I'm trying to sell a bunch of stuff on the market to get the 279 since that still seems like fun, I just need to wait for the next event and sell whatever tanks are in it
It was designed during Stalin’s reign but I don’t think it was ever built. I think it was revamped to the IS10 which became the T-10 during the de-Stalinization phase of the Soviet Union after Stalin died.
Ah yes a crafting event in which you could waste your time and resources trying to figure out a puzzle of recipes. What a joke if you didn’t know the recipes
Why would you go out of your way to uptier yourself? Russia has a SOLID 8.3 lineup that the IS-7 plays into. Want fast light tank action? BMP-2 Want to slug it out in a city map? IS-7 Want to sit back and snipe from afar? IT-1 or Shturm-S Want a balanced all rounder? T-55 or T-62 There's even two radar SPAA and a premium tank to boot So why... why bother putting up with the possibility of facing 9.7 tanks in an unstabilized heavy tank?
i dont remember which video it was, but recently u were talking shit on the m48 and m60, so i tried the m48 since i never played it before and i loved it. the hull is very trolly and it gets some pretty decent shells. i feel like it is bordering the line between medium tank and heavy tank for US standards and is still pretty mobile, cant wait to try the german m48s next
