my friends pox deck used to run one entomb, puts life from the loam in graveyard, tutors a land if you have loam or crucible, also put nether spirit into yard. I do agree that sprit does not block as much as it used to

My favourite spice for legacy loam pox is Encroach. It’s a one drop discard spell that hits a non-basic out of their hand. It can catch fetches when wasteland can’t. It’s so mean.
1:01:48 I think Hymn-first is correct, since the floor for that still ends up with them binning the worst of their 4 cards (which happens *every* time with Hymn-second). At the very least, Hymn-first gives them fewer options. I'd have to do a more thorough analysis to be *sure* which is better.
Before I watch beyond the deck tech, when you say that 3 and 3 for Ritual and Diamond is your preferred split, why didn't you cut a Diamond for a Needle? You said you had to cut that, and it's definitely useful in this format. I am still feeling like Grafdigger's Cage REALLY needs a reevaluation in this format too. It shuts down 8 Cast engines, it kills Snapcaster usefulness which is on the upswing, it's a contingency against ANT with PiF, it's a hard lock against Reanimator, and it destroys Uro, which is the boogeyman of the format right now.
What about two Ashiok main deck? She just seems so good when there are so many graveyard decks in legacy. Especially if you can dark ritual her out t1 and your opponent only has fetch lands in hand
Funny enough, I played against a mono-black prison stompy deck in an upcoming league that was doing exactly that. Also FWIW Ashiok is canonically gender-less. :)
Ive been playing a ledger shredder izzet deck with exspressive iteration. I think those two cards are really good together as well. I think izzet burn with cantrips drc shredder and burn spells could be pretty good. Force and daze then just burn spells.
Yeah, Exploration in this deck is a little wonky, since Loam is the only source of card advantage and Smallpox and Liliana actively empty your hand. Mox Diamond has a similar problem in theory, but in practice it’s a Spirit Guide that insulates against your own Smallpox while fueling Loam. You did, however, play against an astounding number of proactive board-based decks. Maybe that’s where Legacy is right now, though. 🤔

Maybe it's the bad draws but I think this deck with a little more focus on discard/disruption would go far. It looks like it needs more protection to get the lands plan going

What're your thoughts on shaving 1 Liliana of the Veil for 1 Liliana, Waker of the Dead? She gives you a second discard a turn, with potential chip damage, in addition to a game-ending emblem if it goes long enough.
I wonder if swapping Ashiok for Opposition Agent would be better? Sneaking it in with Dark Ritual can win games on the spot, and it has synergy with Assassin's Trophy too.
I think ashiok is over all better thanks to the graveyard hate and being a 5 loyalty pw instead of a 3/2 creature. Oppo agent gets hit by our own pox and is easier to remove by the decks you want to stop from searching their deck.
In R4G2 against lands is there any consideration to Ashioking yourself instead of your opponent? You still get the Loam out of their graveyard and I think at the time you were actively looking for a Loam of your own. Then again, I can understand squeezing material out of their deck and it does eventually turn into winning by mill so I can see the reason to target them.

It seems like a slightly different Waste Not that you can get with Saga. Probably filler the deck doesn’t need, but it’s cool to get card selection out of a Saga.

It doesn't fit with my life. I can't promise to show up on a schedule for Twitch. I can record videos at whatever hours they fit into my week and schedule them to release at predictable times.
At 30:00, doesn't Boseiju destroy artifacts? It doesn't seem like it would have been great, but it could have killed the painter since they had a saga to get another grindstone.
@@BoshNRoll yea, I confused the dredge with being able to cast it. You did mention it as an out in the video, but it was a turn too slow with you're current resources.
If he had used Liliana before Loam I think it was two turns earlier when he cast Loam for only two lands he could have had green source in hand and do it
