Sub 3:00 isn't a deal breaker for me if it's just a really awesome form factor and I can bash it outside like the 63mm. But, I will say that after owning one, I'm still wanting to buy the moblite7 for long flight indoors (less bashing) and firefly nano baby for outdoors. I just try new tricks and fly over concrete with the baby naz so I know I'm not going to break it while learning new maneuvers or getting sketchy. They both have their place in my heart haha but you just cant beat the "bashability" of the baby nazgul frames. They're tanks! I definitely wouldn't have learned some of these tricks or gained the confidence to try some of these gaps if it wasnt for these insanely sturdy frames. Love them!

I don't know if it's the quad, but your flying is getting even better. You are throwing in more flippy floppies, gaps, loops, and flowy stuff. I like it very much
@NickBurnsFPV

I do think my I tend to do more flippy floppies when the quad isn't as outright fast. And as quads get better and my flight skills increase (slowly) I see opportunities to fix what might be a sloppy turn or something into a flip/roll transition.

I've bashed my baby nazgul probably more than the average person. I've beaten it to death and I've not had a single problem with those xing motors. The entire build has done amazing. I had a solder point on the Camera pop off but I just soldered it right back on with the same solder already on it and haven't had a single problem since then and I fly it daily and bounce it off a tree or the ground every other flight. Great builds!

I certainly go for micros more than my larger quads. Like you, I fly around my house mostly. If I have at least 3.5 minutes of flight time then that's enough. I have a light weight 3" that usually gives me 5-7 minutes which is bordering on too long for my attention span. Personally, I prefer the 40mm + size in 2s. It seems to give the best performance with flight time along with light weight for crash resilience. This is why my Baby Evo2, Elf88 and Shutterbug are my most flown quads. ETA: I mostly use the Flywoo whoop VTX which goes up to 450mw on all these micros. Very light and works well.

I go for durability. I don't wreck much these days, but I want my craft to be able to survive a drop whenever it gets out of range and the failsafe kicks in. So far, the little guy I fly has survived several falls out of the sky without a hitch - including one that was at least 250 feet. I gotta upgrade my OG Jumper T8SG to get an extended range set-up. Also, I limit my flight time to 2:30 in order to have my batts recover at 3.8 volts in the hopes of extending the number of good cycles I can get on 'em before they start to sag. So far, so good with the 10 packs I'm juggling - haven't had a cell error during recharge in months, and the batts are holding up nicely. And you're spot-on regarding the lower kV-bigger props observation. I run 1.9" blades on both my flyers, but one has 1935 tri-blades on 7800 kV motors while the other is running trimmed-down 4-bladed 2045s on 7500 kV motors. The latter combo has way more response and authority.

Update: Just took a look at mine, In order to remove the TPU battery connector holder, u need to depin the connector as the TPU slides back up the pigtail towards the flight controller, Just make sure you re-pin it correctly.TPU weighs 0.4g and the jst weights between 0.01~0.02g; my scale doesnt seem to be that sensitive. And to push down props fully on these types i find the easiest way is to just twist them while pushing down (90 degrees always does it), that way there's really no force required

I gather that size increase was already in the works but I’m sure the feedback on the 63mm version validated the increase…the earlier one had just too short a wheelbase and thus kinda meh legs…and performance overall…so yeah this seems to be a great improvement and closer to the efficiency sweet-spot…totally concur on the 2S…I think all these micro (but NON WHOOP) models should be 1-2S…I’m rebuilding my Gnarly frames that way (Meemo etc)…

Another informative video from the micro 🐐. I like the fact you get a option on size. I would like if they gave you a option for prop guards or not. I bought the 63mm version iflight came out with a few years ago that was a carbon fiber body with a bottom and top plate but had prop guards that screwed to the bottom plate and the motors screwed to the guards. I still have it as I say this but have yet to be able to get a complete flight out of it because the prop guards are made out of a hard plastic and has a little spike on each guard to land on. Well the issue I had was every time I would land hard it would break the guard rite where the screws hold the motor. I was also learning how to fly back when I originally bought the kit it and built it so I would take off an find myself going off the floor into the air and rite back down learning the feeling and just tapping the hardwood floor hard would break them. I’m liking these new one’s just wish they had a prop guard option. Also I wanted to mention to you that the holes you see on the top plate of the 73mm version you talked about “you liked how they put the antenna thru you also talked about possibly making it a top mount battery and running the antenna like they did on the 63mm” looks like them holes are actually for the TPU battery mount and since they went with mounting it on the bottom the one hole would be the perfect antenna holder. So in all reality it shouldn’t be to hard to make it a top mount quad. Anyways great video and happy flying!
@NickBurnsFPV

Prop guards are a nice option, one 1s they need to be super light or it’s gonna kill the flight time. Today’s plastics are far better than those we had even a year ago. Iterations 😁

We could mount on top. We have to relocate both antenna, much like they did on the 63mm version, then use small straps or rubber bands. Maybe some thin battery mat might be good to, but not much as its little and more weight is not going to help performance or flight time :)

After watching your reviews and Angry Don's review of the Flywoo Nano Baby, I think it might be fun to see the Nazgul with the Flyoo FC and ELRS. I like the frame concept on the Nazgul better, but seems like the board and VTX on the Flyoo might be nicer.

Hey Nick! I am looking at getting back into multirotors after being out of the fpv scene for about 6 years. I live in a fairly urban area so I figured one of the 1s quads would be better due to noise and size. I was considering this one and the flywoo firefly1s. My flying style is pretty relaxed with getting a bit spirited here and there. Not a ton of acrobatics, as I don't have the skills. Which would be your first recommendation between the two? Or would you recommend another all together? I was planning on staying analog for now since I have most of the gear for it.

@@sethpark777 the range is an issue for some. If you think you will want to fly very far, or behind large obstructions and elrs rx is far better. But also be sure your radio can bind to d8. So I have both of these -- and I have to say, although I absolutely looove the tune on the iFlight Baby Nazgul 73mm, and the build/frame... the Flywoo Baby 1s 1.2 with the GNB27 connector wins. It was a pretty huge mistake on iFlight's part to not at least put a solid pin PH 2.0 connector. So the flight experience consistency falls off after about 2 minutes. This quad is starving for power, and I can just feel it. A swap to BT 2.0 or GNB27 would make a major difference. It is a shame about the 50mw VTX as well vs the flywoo but I could live with it.

Hi Nick hope your well, I've got the 63mm but flight time is quite bad 1.45 on 1s 300mah, or 2.30 on 1s 450mah. I'm a noob n learning but would you be able to to a bigger mah battery. I have some new 520mah? Also my camera broke n stopped working I no longer a signal in my skyzone goggles. Banggood got in touch within hours saying they will send a new runcam atom. Newbies who think it has to have 5+ minutes flight time are just that... Newbies... And haven't learned that in FPV we go for performance and Rippin'! If you want long flight time, go buy a Mavic! In FPV, all we do is buy more batteries, rip it again, change batteries, and rip it some more! Flight time is one of THE MOST overrated factors in flying quads! Buy more batteries! 👍🥴 And YES!
