Joseph Smith prophesied in the "name of the Lord" many, many times and they are all recorded in Mormon/LDS scriptures, doctrine, history and documents. Please watch, research, share and comment! If you are a Mormon, I would love to know your rationale regarding these unfulfilled prophesies and also your response regarding what Deuteronomy has to say about false prophets. I challenge you all to RESEARCH and to use your sound mind that the true God gave to each of us so that we might discern truth.

Scott Jackson well I am native Americans we lived threw all the bullshit from colonialism that people don’t understand that we live in a world of business and that no one is safe from corruption and exploitation from a system that feeds the rich wealthy or elite and we die in everything they create within the country, society we are born in by inheritance of laws and a economic system that they say is good for us but it’s really great for them because it keeps them wealthy healthy and in power to control us all.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are achildren of the most High. (PSALM 82:6). Valerie, what you are missing is what he meant by that . For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” My father taught me about good and evil, when I learnt I was more like him, does not mean I am greater than him or replacing him. The thing is Satan loves to mix truth with lies and we need to break down what he says.

I believe that the anti christ will come from the LDS church. The LDS Christ is different from the biblical Christ. I do believe that Satan is the master of lies and deception and even Satan can appear as an messenger of light. I believe in the Christ in the Bible and that Salvation through Him is all I need to be in paradise one day. Now the God of the anti christ “it is said in the Bible, he is a strange god, a god of gold, silver and precious stones” In the Bible it says the anti christ will build a temple and proclaim himself to be god. The Mormons believe that they can be Gods.. it says in the Bible that he will suffer a fatal wound but the false prophet will bring him back to life. The Mormons believe that the priesthood can raise the dead. The Mormon church is prepared to lead the world, they have the most preparedness than any Government or any Church for times of famine or war. Be careful everyone, I pray people will not be deceived.

Jessie, I just found your channel and am binge watching lol. I am an ex Jehovah's Witness, was born into it, 3rd generation..I am 60 and "woke up" about 3 years ago, so it's all I knew all my life and coming to know the truth about the "truth" was devastating, to say the least. I had no reason to doubt what my parents and family believed. All others are of the devil, including Mormons, as we were taught. IF you are not in the Jehovah's Witness organization, you are doomed to die at Armageddon. So this had a huge impact on my way of viewing others growing up, knowing they were all going to die soon. Armageddon was supposed to come in 1975 and it is still coming any minute now, lol. The history of JW's, the false prophecies, view of Jesus, and excommunications are so remarkably similar to the JW religion. It blows my mind to hear your testimony. I am so happy that you "woke up" to the truth about our Lord Jesus Christ, and I am going to continue watching more of your videos. I absolutely cannot believe the similarities in the hierarchy of our religion and control of it's members, I have only watched ex JW videos up until now and our stories are just like yours. Blessings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The truth is that God the Father was never once a man. Jesus Christ has always existed and took on human flesh. Jesus Christ claimed to be God. Salvation is not found in a church. It is found only in Jesus. A Mormon missionary found Jesus on his mission. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r0mckI8Xfl8.html 1. Our sins have separated us from God. We have all broken God's moral law, the Ten Commandments. Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. 2. We are all under the death sentence. We will all die one day. We are all on our way to hell. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death. 3. There is nothing we could ever do to merit everlasting life. It is a free gift. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Eph. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 4. The good news is that Jesus Christ has already paid the penalty for your sin in full when he shed his blood and died on the cross. 5. All you need to do is repent of your sin and put your faith in what Jesus Christ has already done for you. Salvation is quite simple. What did the thief on the cross do? You just need a humble and repentant heart. Luke 18 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ 13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Jesus said, "Follow Me." Jesus is the good Shepherd. Jesus will never let you down. John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. God bless you.

I grew up in a faction that believes the Book of Mormon. And I stopped reading the book for the past 12 years and have not been able to read it since. I came to understand Galatians 1:8 which says if any man or angel from Heaven should preach a gospel other than the one Paul preached then let them be cursed. Paul taught about Christ on earth in Judaea and his resurrection. The Book of Mormon teaches that Christ came to the Americas after he died, that’s not the same Gospel Paul preached. That was enough for me.

I want to encourage anyone and everyone who is seeking the truth to dive into Biblical Christianity and test it. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is foundational to everything a Christian believes so if you are questioning it's historical evidence, please look up "Simon Greenleaf" and his quotes on the resurrection. His conversion from an Atheist to a born again Christian is incredibly powerful! And his evidence for the resurrection is undeniable. I'll add Lee Strobel to this topic as well as he is a former Athiest who set out to disprove Christianity by disproving the resurrection. Well this led to his conversion and life-transformation and again, the evidence is overwhelming.

Joseph didn't prophesy the coming of christ in 1891. He stated himself, which you conveniently leave out, that he had a revelation stating that if he live to 85 he would see the face of God. He also stated what you said, however he also said that he wasn't sure if it referred to the beginning of the millennium, a previous coming, or perhaps it would be his death and he would then see the face of God.

I believe Joseph Smith was influenced by dispensational,theology like many were in those days. 100 new groups evolved out of dispensational theology. All have much false doctrine. Jesus said a bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit. It is impossible. Joseph at best was a very confused person or purposely deceiving his followers. Many false things arose in this time period including false science. Satan may have thought the return of Jesus was at that time and upped the deceptions.

Hi Jessie, The LDS are not allowed to question the Church or their Prophets. I live a few miles from Kirtland Ohio, where Smith and the Saints moved to. This got me interested in the Mormon religion, and got me looking into it for the last year and a half. The BofM really contradicts itself, to no end. Smith and Oliver Cowdrey and maybe others, got together and dreamed up the Bof M and tried to sell the manuscript in Toronto Canada. When they couldn't sell it they started the Mormon Church and all the rest of the sham! When Brigham Young was in Utah Territory, he ordered the death of a Missouri wagon train of 120 people and children. This is because of the ousting of the Mormons from Missouri, prior. I've found studying their beliefs a little bit unusual and a tad laughable. Smith was a Crook and scammer and was so charged with that! After starting the Church, his interest in other women elevated into polygamy, I call it lust and adultery. The The whole religion reads like a long lost novel ! The people are fed a line of BS a mile long and hesitate to study their own history, to find that they have been lied to for all these years. Pray for them to open their eyes to the true God and Savior of the Bible, I really don't think Joseph Smith Jr. will be in Heaven waiting to judge me nor anyone else!

My goal is to share it all with my Mormon friends and strangers so that their eyes may be opened and they will start to think. Since that was 2000 years ago we can assume that generation has all passed away. Many of his disciples believed that Jesus would return within their lifetimes. Obviously this has not happened yet. Satan was the an Arch Angle that was full of pride and wanted to be just like God so he rebelled against God with a third of the angles and they all were kicked out of Heaven. There was no gold plated. He used his seer stone placed in his hat that he then place his face in to create the book of mormon. The book of Abraham that he translated from an egyptian scroll had nothing to do with Abraham. It was about a death ritual. They are a cult and not a religion. From a former believer.

Crazy the church clings to the one that wasn't even recorded until a decade after the event supposedly happened. This is because Joseph Smith changed his view on god... having flesh and bones, denial of the Trinity, polytheism. He taught all of this in the King Follett Discourse. But the Book of Mormon teaches the Trinity and that God is unchanging from all eternity to all eternity--Moroni 8:18. Everything about Mormonism is a contradiction.

Hi Jessie: I truly understand how you feel! I prayed and asked of God for over 30 years before He sent the Holy Ghost to me while reading first Nephi chapter 13. To be able to feel the merging of the Holy Ghost spirit, with yours, within your own body is a most wonderful experience! I cherish it above all, the greatest experience of my life. I don't know why God took so long to send this Holy Ghost to me as stated in Moroni :10-4. I could of easily have fallen away as you and many others have done! I would then be in the same predicament as you are. Why He did not choose a lovely person such as you, and many others, I do not understand. God finally sending the Holy Ghost to me, has been the most important event in my life. Meant everything to me! I understand how you feel, I hurt for you and others! I can understand how you feel, for there are over a hundred good and justified reasons for you to believe so. But a member of the God Head, the Holy Ghost, has let me know he supports this Book of Mormon. Something I cannot deny. I find giving my testimony to non believers has little if any effect on their line of thinking! But this testimony is the most important item I can leave to my children and grandchildren. I pray that if you try again as stated in Moroni :10-4 that God will send this Holy Ghost unto you. But is took over 30 years before God finally answered those prayers for me. I don't understand why God is so stingy with this Holy Ghost! But I am an ignorant old man! But very very thankful, appreciative and grateful to God and the Holy Ghost, and many others, for I am nothing important!

Deuteronomy 18:21 "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him." How does this apply to the prophet, Jonah? In chapter 1 Jonah is called to warn Nineveh. He fears the people of Nineveh. He gets on a ship headed in the opposite direction. Is cast into the sea and swallowed by a large fish. In chapter 2, Jonah prays to the Lord and the fish literally vomits him up on dry land after three days in its stomach. Jonah 3:4 "And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown." Then the leaders of the People and the people repented. Jonah 3:10 ¶ "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not." Happy ending! Not for Jonah. Jonah 4:1 "But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. 2 And he prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. 3 Therefore now, O Lord, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live." Two lessons to learn from Jonah. 1. Prophets are human having the same fears, sadness, and vulnerabilities as other men. 2. Prophecy is not about predicting the future only. It is a method of warning the people. D&C 87 did predict the Civil War, the South and North were separated. Other nations did assist both the North and the South during the Civil War. The war started at Ft. Sumter, South Carolina. Slaves did rise up against their masters and headed North. D&C 87:8 "Wherefore, stand ye in holy places, and be not moved, until the day of the Lord come; for behold, it cometh quickly, saith the Lord. Amen." The end time predicted is "until the day of the Lord come." So, I don't believe that has happened yet. Do you? History of the Church is not doctrine or scripture unless it is included in the Standard Works of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which includes the King James Version of the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants of the Church, and Pearl of Great Price. D&C 84: The Temple will be built before this generation pass away. It is possible that some of that generation were translated as Elijah was.

I agree with your assessment of the failed prophecies of Joseph Smith, but if we are honest we must apply the same methodology to the failed prophecies of the New Testament. Just as Joseph Smith prophesied "This generation shall not pass away until ...", so does Matthew 24:34 prophesy "This generation shall not pass away until ..." In both cases, the generation living at that time did indeed pass away before those things came to pass. Now, you can play word games about just which generation each was talking about when they said "this generation", but any disinterested person knows the meaning of "this generation".
@strongtower9237
@strongtower9237 4 года назад
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. The things that Jesus had been speaking of-the rise of the Antichrist, the desolation of the Holy Place, and the darkening of the sun-did not happen during the lifespan of people alive in Jesus’ day. Obviously, Jesus meant something different when He spoke of “this generation.” The key to understanding what Jesus meant by “this generation will not pass away until all these things take place” is the context; that is, we must understand the verses that are surrounding Matthew 24:34, especially the verses prior to it. In Matthew 24:4-31, Jesus is clearly giving a prophecy; He is speaking of future events. Jesus had already told those living during His earthly ministry that the kingdom had been taken from them (Matthew 21:43). Therefore, it is imperative that Matthew 24-25 be seen as dealing with a future time. The generation that Jesus speaks of “not passing” until He returns is a future generation, namely, the people living when the predicted events occur. The word generation refers to the people alive in the future when the events of Matthew 24-25 take place. Jesus’ point in His statement, “this generation will not pass away until all these things take place,” is that the events of the end times will happen quickly. Once the signs of the end begin to be observed, the end is well on the way-the second coming and the judgment will occur within that last generation. Jesus reinforced this meaning with a parable in Matthew 24:32-33: “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.” A sure sign of summer is the leafing of the fig tree; a sure sign of the end of the world is that “all these things” (of Matthew 24) are taking place. Those who are on the earth then will have only a short time left. Essentially, Jesus is saying that, once the events of the end times begin, they will happen quickly. The age of grace has continued for a very long time. But when the time for judgment finally arrives, things will be wrapped up posthaste. This concept of God’s drawing things to a rapid close is echoed in many other passages of Scripture (Matthew 24:22; Mark 13:20; Revelation 3:11; 22:7, 12, 20). www.gotquestions.org/this-generation-not-pass.html

@@strongtower9237 As I said, you can play with any words and try to make them mean things they do not. The obvious thing is that the words of Jesus failed to come true. If you can't accept that reality, then you will engage in mental gymnastics to find some way to make them come true, such as inventing a non-scriptural "Church Age" that puts Biblical prophecies only pause for thousands of years. Such tricks make then entire Bible irrelevant. Incidentally, wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, etc. have taken place in EVERY generation. They are not unique occurences.

Eph 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was PERFECT and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore PERFECT, even as your Father which is in heaven is PERFECT. Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be PERFECT, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. Phl 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be PERFECT, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 2Co 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. BE PERFECT , be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Jessie, you have no credibility. The CES letter is authored by disgruntled Mormons who have an axe to grind. It comprises unreliable (unverifiable) third party source material, which purposefully portrays Mormon teachings out of context. Mormons, who feel guilty about wanting to renege on their moral commitments, use the CES Letter as a rationale to leave the church, because in reality they've adopted a “worldly-overview”, and the distortion of the CES allows them to “sin” without actually owning their decisions as long as they can blame the church. Cognizant dissonance is patently sanctimonious, but that is the disingenuous world we live in. John Dehlin’s immutable behavior sets the tone for his kabuki play, where departing Mormons lament over the grief of losing their close knit community while framing their morality cult as freedom from the a high demand church. He became a Mormon critic after adopting feminist concepts that encourage an acceptance of sex outside of marriage and homo-sexuality, which by any constraint mocks the Christian Bible teachings and embodies the Anti-Christ, Anti-Family challenge of our time. Dehlin portrayed his disdain for Bible teachings by criticizing the leadership for not allowing women and the LGBTQ members to hold key administration and teaching positions in the church. When Dehlin was unceremoniously excommunicated for his condemnation of the Churches’ refusal to adopt his secular reforms, he became yet another enemy of Mormonism in its righteous endeavor to restore the family culture.

Yes, and we can ONLY have the power to resist sin after the point of Salvation at which time the Holy Spirit indwells the believer, giving him the power--through Christ--to resist sin. Before Salvation, we are in bondage to sin. But the Bible is also clear that whoever claims he doesn't sin is a liar, void of truth. Everyone sins and falls short of the glory of God on this side of eternity. But thankfully we are redeemed and forgiven because of Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf on the cross. 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." It's impossible to live a sinless life outside of abiding with Christ and even so, we fall short often. But Sanctification is the process of spiritual growth and bearing fruit. A Christian should be growing closer to Christ every single day and reflecting a Christ-likeness through their words, actions and lives.

@@itsmejessie Hello Jessie and thank you for your response. I believe that there is a flaw in the way that mainline Christianity is teaching the issue of sin. It is true that we "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". And it is also true that "If we sin, we have an advocate with the Father". But consider the following and perhaps you will see the way that I have come to understand this. There is no way that a Christian can claim to be without sin because at some point in our lives we have sinned. That does not mean that we continue to sin or that sinning in a Christian life is to be expected. Consider 1 John 3:4-10 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. If we continue to sin, then we are not a new creation but we are still the same person and Jesus' blood had no effect in cleansing us of our sins. This cleansing of our sins is not simply declaring us righteous while we are still in our sin. Cleansing literally enables us to stop sinning. If we accept that sinning is still unavoidable in a Christian life, what kind of sins would you think are permissible?
@itsmejessie

@@jcaz9864 do you claim to be a born again Christian? And since Salvation, have you lived a perfect, holy and sinless life? You've never felt anger? You've never been unkind to others? You've never lied? You've never had an impure thought? Of course you have because you are human. The only perfect man to ever life was Jesus Christ and that's because He was 100% man and also 100% God. I don't believe sin is "acceptable" or justifiable and yet, we are sinful beings. I have been made a new creation and Christ is now living in and through me. The Holy Spirit guides my conscience and morals and standards and choices. But I have free will and even as a new creation, I struggle with the flesh because this world is full of sin, evil, temptation, wrong, hurt, pain and harm. Though I am safe and secure as a child of God, I certainly am not sinless or holy or perfect. I am fully susceptible to temptation and sadly, give in to it often. Even just the small stuff like reacting to someone with impatience. It's a small sin but sin nonetheless. A holy person wouldn't even let impatience slip out. It's foolish to claim that Christians are sinless but it is important to understand that habitual sins and addictions are a definite problem and if someone is living continually in sin, you must question whether or not their life was truly surrendered to Christ and transformed by Him. But God knows our hearts. He knows who His children are.

@@itsmejessie You are correct. I have sinned, lied, been unkind and had impure thoughts. However, this is not what desires and this is not of God but of the devil. There are however, people who in fact, live sinless lives. The apostle Paul says that he is not aware of sin but that does not mean that he is justified. in Philippians 3:4 He says that he is, "as for righteousness based on the law, blameless". Also Revelation 14:4 shows a group of men who have never lied nor have ever been defiled with women. They follow the Lamb wherever He goes. They are "blameless". Also, all along the biblical history there have been many whom God has pronounced "righteous" Job, Enoch, Elijah and Moses for example. Today's mainline Christianity simply teaches the idea that sin is part of a Christian life and its completely impossible to live without sin. This may cause some to believe that its perfectly natural to continue in the "once-in-a-while" sin. Also, remember that during the flood out of an entire world that was already populated, only eight people survived. The rest died because of sin. Consider 1 Corinthians 6:9: Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. What do you think will happen to a Christian who dies while partaking in one of these sins?

i think it's a very deep subject and there's no small answer. the main subject is jesus not the woman. the main subject is, does jesus have power to condemn or forgive. it reminds us of the law where a man who sinned willfully was stoned to death. the day after the law was given a man was stoned for picking up firewood on sunday. he was stoned. num. 15. 32 ¶ And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the asabbath day. he was stoned, but king david was forgiven for murder and adultery. surely, you think, the sin of adultery is worse than picking up sticks for firewood. here's where jesus trys men's hearts. yes, it's true god is the source of all mercy. god also knows when it's time for mercy and when it's not. the man picking up sticks was sinning wilfully. he was actually trying to test god. king david wasn't trying to test god. he was just being weak. getting back to the woman caught in adultery jesus said, "“Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." the scripture has deep roots as to who jesus is. is he the accuser? or is he the advocate who pleas for the guilty sinner? he can't be both. in job, satan is the accuser. if you think jesus is the accuser then you think jesus is satan. generally i think it's true that christians think jesus is the god of all grace and he knows what's in the heart of every human being. i think that's the main point of the scripture. the part about telling the woman to go and sin no more is what jesus said at that time to that woman. we do not know the full details. it's a side issue. you have to know that most of the prostitutes in the world start out as young girls. they are the main bread winners for the family. their hearts are right before god, but they do what they have to do to keep their families afloat. and at the end of the day, their brothers and sisters are not crying of hunger. there is peace in the house, and the young girl goes to sleep, knowing her heart is right before the living god. James 2:25, NIV: In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them ... the scriptures are careful to show that jesus was familiar with our sin nature. in particular sexual sins and the sin of adultery. rahab the prostitute is included in the genealogy of jesus the savior of all mankind: matthew ch.1: 1 This is the genealogy[a] of Jesus the Messiah[b] the son of David, the son of Abraham:....... Nahshon the father of Salmon, 5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was RAHAB, (the prostitute) Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse, 6 and Jesse the father of King David. and don't think for a moment he was not made to feel the sting. read the entire chapter (chapter 8) for the rest of the story. King James Bible john 8.41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. to reemphasize the point i'll paraphrase what they said, we be not born of fornication like some people jesus. that must have hurt. they were not only talking about him, they were talking about his own sainted mother. so that's how i read the book. jesus trys men's hearts, he knows what an undeserved favor is, and he also knows mercy will not rob justice. there's a place for mercy. there's also a place for justice if we sin willfully like the man who picked up sticks on the sabbath.

I cant judge whether you actually believe in the Bible or not, but the "Test of the Prophet" from Deut. 18 clearly needs to be understood within its original context. Context always matters.. What we learn in Deut 18 is that it applies to "false Prophets" as well as "false Prophecies" spoken by true prophets.- In Deut. 13 we also learn that even false Prophets can and do prophecy of things that definetly will come true, but that we are to discern true from false Prophets by what God they lead us after.. and well, considering that God equals truth, that makes a lot of sense.. Now the thing is that often times its especially the Protestants that bring up Deut. 18, not realizing though that the Bible is filled with Prophecies that are not getting fulfilled. One obvious example is Jonah prophecying in the name of the Lord the destruction of Niniveh, where then the Lord changes his opinion and Niniveh does not get destroyed, and there are countless examples of this. But we also find this on a much larger scale where we have, for example, prphecies fulfilled according to the more modern greek translation of the hebrew Bible, but not to the more original hebrew version, indicating that either these prophecies never were fulfilled, or that they were "made to be fulfilled" later on... So using the Bible as way to prove Joseph was a false Prophet is a bad choice, at least if taken out of context and when imposing inerrancy upon the Bible.., What I find impressive is how over 400 of Josephs prophecies, outside the scriptures, have all been fulfilled, some smaller ones but also some very impressive ones.. And to most of those that have seemingly failed there are some good explanations, once we honestly look at its context, undestanding how prophecy works, and how it is presented to us from within the scriptures.. But above all, I think its fatal to impose upon anything the requirement of perfection, except God (or lets say truth and the pure love of Christ).. for nothing ever will be perfect, and so we gain much more value from being able to discover God in, within and through the imnperfect and fallible of this world. In other words, the Bible teaches a very clear and objective way of spiritual discernment, and once we understand how that discernment works, even the Devil could teach us truth, and we were able to benefit from it. Remember, even the Devil can quote scriptures and share wisdom with us.. So if we would not so much rely on the Devil as an supposed entity, but rather discern whatever comes to us by the means Christ taught, we are now in a position to benefit from anything and everything, whether it be Mormonism, Protestantism or from being an Atheist..

Hello! Too much here to give an adequate reply to, unfortunately. But I wholeheartedly disagree with you on nearly every statement.. whether it be your personal interpretation of Biblical text or your statements about what Joseph Smith accomplished and who he is. And since "you aren't even sure whether I believe the Bible or not," it's apparent that you didn't watch my video and haven't watched anything else on my channel either because I very clearly state my beliefs as a Born Again Christian who believes in Biblical Christianity. The burden of evidence lies on your shoulders to fill me in on the supposed hundreds of legitimate "prophecies" by Joseph Smith you mentioned. His MANY false and failed prophecies prove him to be a liar and a fraud and there's really no getting out of that predicament. His own personal history and the blatant discrepancies found within all of LDS Scripture and doctrine in addition to the lack of any historical fact or archeological evidence all add up to one obvious conclusion: false religion founded by a liar. Your statements regarding the Devil need clarification as well as I find them quite disturbing.
@SimonDaumMusic
@SimonDaumMusic 8 месяцев назад
@@itsmejessie Hey Jessie, First of all, thanks for taking the time to respond. I want to apologize that I missed out on you being a Protestant, thanks for the clarification. I want to be clear that my faith is not LDS. I have been for over 30 years and value much of my experience. But above all do I care about truth, and so I have no problem do admit when things within Mormonism are wrong, but also see that many of the arguments brought up against Mormonism are onesided too, trying my best to clarify. So, I dont claim to know all things or to get everything right, but since you say you disagree with pretty much everything I said, it leaves the impression that you actually disagree, at least in part, with the Bible, and how the Bible presents itself from within its own context. So, I will respond to some of the things you said, do so in respect, no expecting from you to read through it or to respond, but hope you will give it some time. Before I get into it I just want to clarify, I believe Jesus taught a clear way of spiritual discernemnt, which includes discernming true from false prophets. But it by far surpasses what we learn in Deut. 18 , simply because from my experience there is nothing perfect but God, neither people, nor prophtes, nor the scripures. I can show you endlessly many places where the Bible contains errors and contradictions, and simply fails as an objective standart. If the Bibel of itself were equal to Gods objective standart, then we should not have so many different interpretations of the Bibel, by the way, also within Protestantism. But people prove that the Bible fails that objectivety, even if they believe the Bible to literally be Gods word in every sense, history proves is, and above all the Bible proves is. So I think the miracle is not to impose upon the Bible something it never claims, meaning to never err, but rather to trust God that he can perfectly work even through an imperfect Bible, which is excactly what my experience is. Trusting God is not the same as trusting the Bible. And in that sense way my comment meant about the Devil. The Devil can quote from the Bible, meaning, he can says things that are true, and if there were an objective way to spiritually discern what is true and what is false, no matter who is speaking, then we could even learn truth when the devil utters it. And as I see it its relevant that we understand that discernment, because obviously the devil can appear as an Angel of light, one that can quote srcipture, and since noone agrees on the Bible on everything, we need more than the Bible to discern. //TEST OF THE PROPHET Now when we read Deut. 18:20, we learn that "the test" referres to two kind of prophets, those that "presume to speak a word in his name which God has not commanded him to speak", as well as to prophets "that shall speak in the name of other gods". In other words, the test referres to prophets of God, as well as to false prophets. After we are informed about the test of the prophet in verse 22 we learn that it still calls him a prophet, but simply one that has spoken "presumtuously". In other words, it still calls him a prophet. And in Deut. 13 we then learn that a false prophet, meaning one that leads people after other Gods, still can and does prophesy of things that come true, but that we are then to discern him by what God he leads us after, indicating that for us to "know God" is quite of some relevance when it comes to spiritual discernment. Now the Bible is filled with all sorts of different examples.. here are just a few Nathan, for example, a true Prophet of God, gave the Lords approval to David to build the temple, though God has not given the approval... Jonah would be another example, here the Lord commanded Jonah to prophecy the destrucion of Niniveh, and went away seeking out the next fish to escape God changing his mind by showing mercy unto Ninive. (Jonah 3:5) And didn’t God know that Hezekiah would live another fifteen years? So why give two conflicting prophecies through the prophet Isaiah (2 Kings 20:1-6)? Didn’t God know that Pharaoh would reject Moses’ words? Then why bother to send the prophet to the Egyptian king to ask that he let Israel go free? And in Acts 20:22-23 Paul was “compelled by the Spirit” to travel to Jerusalem, whilst in Acts 21:4 the diciples urged Paul also “through the Spirit to not go to Jerusalem”. Also it seems vital to understand the nature of prophecies, meaning, prophecies can be: 1. Conditional, depent on repentance etc. 2. Be read as a command, instead of a foretelling (“ye shall build... “) 3. Some can transend this world 4. Some are more cryptic, like Jesus talking about “this generation” not being literal, or like Isiah talking in a more symbolic language 5. Prophecy vs. Visions. Sometimes vision do carry a symbolic meaning and hence require interpretation 6. Some may take a long time until being fulfilled. We see this for example with Isiah prophecying about Christ, or concerning his prophecies regarding the actions of Assyria (Isiah 10:24-25, where it was not fulfilled until a century later. Or we see this withZephaniah, writing of the destruction of Judah, wrote that “the day of the Lord is at hand” (1:7) and that “the great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and it hasteth greatly” (1:14). This was written in the days of King Josiah (1:1), nearly a century before Judah was taken captive by the Babylonians. Joel used similar words, saying, “the day of the Lord is at hand” (1:15) and “the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand” (2:1). And so forth So what people can make out of all this is to either bend it all to make it somehow work, which usually gets done when imposing upon the Bible that is has to be inerrant and univocal from beginning to en, or people can allow the Bible to speak on its own terms, allow things to contradict, to spiritually discern how Jesus taught it, and the meet God despite all what man placed into and imposed onto the Bible Like I said, I dont need to prove Joseph being a prophet, but out of love for truth have I dived deeply into Mormonism, and if you were interested I could let you know literature and places where you could read about all the prophecies that did get fulfilled, and they are many and there are many very impressive ones. But whether prophecies do come true or not is not the main tool of discernment, and if shouldnt be, because the more honest we apporach the Bible, the more the Bible itself fails that test. So mayby there simply is a deeper level of truth to it, and I think best way to discvoer that layer of discernment is once we accept that there is divine purpose behind everything being imperfect, (except for God.) To me it seems part of a divine plan.

You can't use Deuteronomy as a test, (you have to use the Lord's spirit) Jesus warned everyone of the scribes that would change the truth. Also in the book of the prophets (the last 17ish books of the bible) there are soooo many things that did not happen! Does that mean there false too? No, there are simply a sealed book waiting to be unfolded. Most of the doctrine and covenants is also a sealed book which really no one gets. What or who is the Holy Ghost? Do you know?

Do you have a video explaining why the old testament prophecies are valid? It occurs to me that if I write a book now with some predictions in it and it becomes popular, people with emotional ties to its validity are more likely to make it happen or at the very least more likely to interpret events so as to be able to say that the prophecy has occurred. Is this not a problem with the old testament prophecies?

the whole christian theology of salvation by grace is very very difficult for a lot of people or most people to understand. after all, we do live in the world. and if you want to advance in life you usually always have to work for it. to have the faith necessary to believe that god saves people from hell, you have to have faith in god. so we conclude faith that saves is a gift. there are people who have made cult recovery their whole life's work. it's not an easy job. i exchange messages with mormons all the time. it's not any easier to reach them for me, than for anyone else, even though i'm an ex mormon.

Can I just ask you to think about something?? If EVERYTHING in your religion and your salvation, ALL rests on, and is ALL based upon the claims of Joseph Smith...BUT, there are speculations and evidence that he was nothing more than a fraud, a con man and a liar.. Wouldn’t you want to be 100% certain that everything he ever said is in fact true?? (even though there is overwhelming evidence it’s not) Because if Mormonism is NOT true and everything is just based on the crazy stories and imagination of a con artist, who was just trying to rip people off and make money.. Than you are taking a HUGE gamble with your very soul! Which if you think about it, is really scary! Especially when the hell of scripture, is very different to the “hell” of Mormonism! The bible makes it clear there are NO second chances, no different degrees of any “kingdoms,” no Spirit prison where you might have the chance to get out.. Scripture is very clear that once you die...THAT’S IT, your chance is over! You cannot try to work things out with God on judgment day, if you die without the TRUE and living Christ of scripture...than you WILL burn for eternity, with absolutely no hope of an end to the torment! All because one mere human being’s LIES!! Do you really think it’s worth the risk?? The time to get right with God is now, while you’re still alive.. I would like to suggest reading the bible on your own, just read the New Testament as though reading it for the first time. Also read Isaiah chapters 45-47! God bless

i don't keep up with mormonism very much. i recall a vid. where rusty nails is talking to a group of young people and he says, follow the prophet the prophet will never lead you astray. that makes him infallible like the pope. the only one i know who is infallible is god himself and i really don't accept rusty nails as being god. then there's that peep stone quote. he admits to joseph smith using a peep stone. using dowsing rods, crystal balls and such is not the preferred method of receiving revelation when you have direct access to the holy of holies. i give it that casting lots is the time honored way. but it is effective only when the ones casting the lot don't really care about the outcome. the priest would pull out a black or white stone, but it really didn't matter what the answer was because they all knew god was on their side no matter what color stone was pulled out. you will recall Matthias was chosen by lot, but it probably didn't matter to the other apostles which one filled the slot. and of course jonah was chosen by lot, but the sailors really didn't care which one they threw over board just so it wasn't them personally. mormonism really is a cult. it's history is so cultic that no amount of white washing can ever pretty it up.

This is laughable. Your trying to claim something we don’t teach or care about. You don’t know all the sayings by all the holy prophets throughout time and tak some without any surrounding contexts. You are so disingenuous in trying to rip down things that are part of someone else’s church. These things your reading off from your google search is really weird. Your so confident that you’re a scholar on our church. Nor do you realize that many of these purported prophecies had many other circumstances that had to be in place and or take place to go along with them if they were ever to come true. You’re leaving out a lot of information and making it sound preposterous but in their full context and they make perfect sense. And the present thing or not come true there had to be a whole series of other issues and circumstances accompanying that for it to have come true. So you’re leaving out 2/3 or 3/4 of all of the circumstances around a particular privacy that he made and said would come true if everything else having to do if it happened or came through then the prophecy would have also. Well they didn’t because the rest of the circumstances around it did not happen. So you’ Pulitzer Prize winning and scholarly approach and in-depth research has somehow fallen short by not mentioning all of those other things. You have to be very careful before you start ripping into hundreds of years old prophetic things that were said by somebody that in that time. Expecting you or anyone else and or their minds to know what these things meant at the time Is it crazy if you think you could parse out and fully understand what was being said at the time. You can’t so to sit and think that you are somehow dragging down this church with real intellectualism as a joke. I am sorry because you seem like such an awfully sweet girl and by all means beautiful, what you’re saying isn’t

Hi! No Google search.. I found many of these prophesies in Mormon Scripture--Doctrine and Covenants. I sourced every single thing I listed. I have no problem with your comment and defense over what I shared but rather than say I'm missing all the details and don't know what I'm talking about, you should prove me wrong. The LDS beliefs only date back to Joseph Smith in the early 1800s and it is not difficult at all to study out Mormonism. You can read all of Joseph's Journals, LDS scripture, historical LDS documents like the Journal of Discourses and the History of the Church, LDS.org has posted hundreds of essays on topics like this one (not sure if they'll still be around with the new church website) but anyway... to say this is laughable and to discredit what I've said with no proof of your own is not being intellectually honest. Prove me wrong! Please share with me how Joseph can be a true prophet of God--prophesying in the name of the LORD, I might add--with MANY false and unfulfilled prophesies. And if I missed critical details and further explanation of the prophesies, I'd love to hear more! I have discussed this topic in detail with numerous Mormons and no one has answers! They just look disturbed and worried and change the subject. I have yet to see where I am wrong but am always open to critique and honest correction.

The phrase "this generation shall not all pass away" does not refer to those living at the time. Christ used a similar phrase in Matthew 24 while he gave prophesy of things that still haven't happened. The phrase obviously has another meaning. That is unless you want to attack the bible as well
@lukemichal7867
@lukemichal7867 5 лет назад
That's not what Matthew 24 means, because that generation didn't pass away before seeing the things Jesus spoke of. This passage refers to events leading up to the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70. The segment ends with Jesus promising “this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place” (24:35) which was when the temple literally was destroyed. So prophecy fullfilled, Bibles authority stays in tact and Joseph Smith is still a false prophet.

The manuscripts that have been found prove otherwise. The archeological evidence for the Bible is extensive and astounding. The Dead Sea Scrolls that were found in the 1940s and 1950s contain parts of every book of the Hebrew canon-which is the Old Testament-except for the book of Esther. The scrolls also contain a collection of previously unknown hymns, prayers, commentaries, and the earliest version of the Ten Commandments. Before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest known manuscripts of the Hebrew Bible dated to the 10th century A.D. The Dead Sea Scrolls include over 225 copies of biblical books that date up to 1,200 years earlier!!! And they match our Bible today perfectly. Not to mention the discovery of the ancient Pentateuch scrolls, which is the first 5 books of the Bible. The earliest textual evidence for the Pentateuch we have is the priestly blessing from Numbers 6:24-26, dating to the sixth or seventh century BC! And it is again word-for-word in agreement with our Bible today. The message of Bible has never changed. It has merely been translated into the world's languages for everyone to read and understand it.

I invite you to investigate for yourselves and if the information is the same wing that I receive to guide my family or my life. Lds.org ... of course not because we are all different ... how easy it is to criticize but how difficult it is to build the church is criticized for the envy of other churches and organizations but until today they can not achieve good luck and I only ask for the deceived that do not get carried away by what others say you have your decision and the intelligence to recognize good and evil .. .I EXPECT PEACE TO YOUR SOUL. THERE IS A WAR TODAY ... but do not get confused I'll give you a clue ... The church is based on a criticism lol you're hilarious. It's own leaders criticize. Joseph smith history states, "I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt." Elder Ballard against Roman Catholics said, Most people don’t know where they came from. They don’t know why they’re here, and they don’t kow where they’re going. And if they have a Catholic background, they don’t know who God is. They don’t know who the Savior is nor do they know who the Holy Ghost is."

@longnamenocansayy

after 20 seconds i found the prophecy that was commonly referred to when i was a mormon. i don't know if the 50 years prophecy is the same or comes from another prophecy. In an April 1843 general conference speech, Joseph Smith predicted that Jesus Christ would not return before he would reach the age of 85. He said, “Were I going to prophesy, I would say the end [of the world] would not come in 1844, 5, or 6, or in forty years. There are those of the rising generation who shall not taste death till Christ comes… I prophesy in the name of the Lord God, and let it be written-the Son of Man will not come in the clouds of heaven till I am eighty-five years old” (History of the Church 5:336). it's a wonder that you found it so elusive. were you really searching?

if joseph smith is a prophet when did he become a prophet? in the book of commandments, which is the forerunner of the d&c, it says in chapter 4 verse 2: "...and he has a gift to translate the book, and I have commanded him that he shall pretend to no other gift, for I will grant him no other gift." that was march 1829. so in 1829 god says he will grant joseph no other gift. it appears in the 1835 d&c section 32 verse 1 but they changed it. originally, god said he had a gift to translate the book of mormon and says not to pretend to any other. then in 1835 god says he has gift to translate and this is his first gift: "And you have a gift to translate the plates; and this is the first gift that I bestowed upon you, and I have commanded that you should pretend to no other gift until my purpose is fulfilled in this......1835 d&c section 32 verse 1. do you see how the story keeps growing and growing? originally he was just an ordinary glass looker with a peep stone in his hat, and he wasn't looked upon as a prophet of god. he was just an ordinary con man "have peep stone will travel" kind of guy. after a few years he had built up his story to where he was getting revelations and prophesying and getting women and life was good. fanny algier, you'll remember was 1836. fanny algier was that "dirty, nasty, filthy affair" that oliver cowdrey disapproved of.

section 87 of the d&c is not in the 1835 (first publication), or 1844 version of the d&c. it does not appear until 1876 10 years after the civil war ended. does that really qualify as a revelation for mormons? i don't think a 10 year old in 5th grade would be impressed enough to call it a revelation. compare different versions of the d&c with this site: comparedandc.com/ Unfortunately, Joseph Smith’s only surviving journal from the period reveals nothing of the event. Its daily entries, which began on November 28, 1832, inexplicably end after little more than a week, only to resume again ten months later on October 4, 1833 Nullification Crisis was a United States sectional political crisis in 1832-33, during the presidency of Andrew Jackson, which involved a confrontation between the state of South Carolina and the federal government. if you knew anything about the history of the united states, you would know there was trouble right here in river city from the very beginning. from the very beginning things were not that united. the only legal document that is to this day, signed by oath, uniting the states, is the articles of confederation. legally we are a confederacy. you will note the federal constitution is not signed by an oath. you will also note that alexander hamilton is the only rep. who signed from new york state. all the other reps from new york went back home rather than be involved in illegal activity. compare PA. which had 8 reps. the reason being is that the constitution is an illegal document. no one from any state had authority to represent their state for the drafting of a whole new document. so long story short, the young country had a lot of problems. from the very beginning, there were border disputes between states that lead to armed conflicts. the nullification conflict of 1832 could have lead to succession by south carolina at that time, but it didn't. longer story made short: it would be a lot more impressive if the "story" appeared in the original d&c in 1835. as it is, it hardly qualifies as a revelation. it's more of a feel good story told by mormons to other mormons, to make each other feel good.

Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. NOT "be put to death". D&C 87:3 For behold, the Southern States shall be divided against the Northern States, and the Southern States will call on other nations, even the nation of Great Britain, as it is called... And if my history memory is correct, they did this. ...and they shall also call upon other nations, in order to defend themselves against other nations; and then war shall be poured out upon all nations. They, meaning Great Britain. This talks about all the other wars leading up to the two world wars. The American Civil war was the first big war of wars that ended with the world wars, and still goes on. The end of section 87 has yet to pass, but it will. History of the Church is not official anything. If you want the real story of the supposed second coming in 56 years, it's in the D&C. It is made up of journal entries of members of the church. So, it's someone's interpretation of what Joseph Smith actually said D&C 130:14 I was once praying very earnestly to know the time of the coming of the Son of Man, when I heard a voice repeat the following: 15 Joseph, my son, if thou livest until thou art eighty-five years old, thou shalt see the face of the Son of Man; therefore let this suffice, and trouble me no more on this matter. 16 I was left thus, without being able to decide whether this coming referred to the beginning of the millennium or to some previous appearing, or whether I should die and thus see his face. 17 I believe the coming of the Son of Man will not be any sooner than that time. Joseph Smith, had he lived, would have turned 85 in December of 1890, which would make 1891, or the 56 years said in the HotC the same thing. in this OFFICIAL version, he states very clearly, HIMSELF, that he does not KNOW what God meant, and that what he took away was that it would not be BEFORE 1891. Section 84 is a COMMANDMENT to build the city and the temple, not a PROPHECY that it would be built. See what it says later. D&C 124:49 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that when I give a *_commandment_* to any of the sons of men to do a work unto my name, and those sons of men go with all their might and with all they have to perform that work, and cease not their diligence, and their enemies come upon them and hinder them from performing that work, behold, it behooveth me to require that work no more at the hands of those sons of men, but to accept of their offerings... 51 Therefore, for this cause have I accepted the offerings of those whom *_I commanded_* to build up a city and a house unto my name, in Jackson county, Missouri, and were hindered by their enemies, saith the Lord your God. However, if you want to look at this as a prophecy that a temple would be built, it could very well be talking about the Kirtland temple, because it says "beginning at this place" and since the revelation was given in Kirtland, and the Kirtland temple had not yet been built, it could be talking about that temple. Journal of Disclosures? No, Journal of Discourses. Again, nothing in History of the Church is officially prophecy of anyone. As far as the government being "overthrown", I guess it depends on what you mean by "overthrown", or what the person writing this meant (It was probably not the exact words of Joseph Smith). The Civil War pretty much broke up the US government, and it was not the same at the end of the war as it was at the beginning. Whatever section 111 was talking about, it's obviously not come to pass yet, at least not according to a superficial reading of it. YEs, it's very important, and I don't know why you accept all this at face value and don't try to find answers. Like I did. You stated in another video that Jesus CREATED Satan. Which is worse, CREATING evil, or being it's spirit brother?
