In this video we will be hitting on some safe steps to take when removing the front wheel on your motorcycle. I am confident that if you use these practical steps when removing the front wheel of your bike it will ensure a safe repair!
We also hit on a couple of solid checks you can do to make sure all of the major components are working properly.
This procedure does NOT work with sportbikes. For this style of bike look into real swing are lifts and front triple stands. PitBull products are amazing!
Please use caution when attempting to lift the front end of your motorcycle as you are dealing with a very heavy machine. This type of procedure should only be done with trusted equipment. This video is intended for instructional purposes only. Wrench at your own risk! Be safe!

Thanks for the awesome video. I was wondering how I was going to lift my bike safely. I used my Mercedes jack which fitted neatly and securely underneath my bike and it worked perfectly. No [problem to get the wheel out. Thank you. Max

I think this kid is going to be my new GO TO guy. Just dropped $2,800 at a local shop to the West of Des Moines and feel like I was really taken advantage of. I can handle jobs with my 1983 Honda Sabre V45-750 and will rely on this MD to teach me how to do things. Now I need to find the web-page chat rooms. Thanks my friend!

Wow, I just changed the front tire, brake pads and wheel bearings this past week on my 96 Magna LOL. I have a poor man's lift that I made from 2 pieces of 4x4 screwed together, and carpeted. It has a hole in it for a 3/4" pipe. Works awesome but it takes one person to rock the jack handle and one person on the bike.

Real life tech jargon very understandable for once, going to look up "sticky-outy" in my Honda manual after this video. I call the favorite bits on my bike "thing" or "thang". There are loads of them, all over the bike. Yepp, also in the manual! Note to hair; time for a little DIY?

Hey Doc, i got a few questions/comments i was wondering if you put ur thoughts/answers to :D Def subbed btw, great content!! I'm going to buy a bike tomorrow and I already check out the bike prior, (this will be my second bike btw) almost 23,000 miles, Kawasaki ZX6R, 2007 for $3k 1.) Ive seen videos talking about the front forks on a motorcycle that should be clean, now the forks on this bike were oily but not dirty oil, does that mean the fork seal is still broken? Note:The bike is making a ticking noise, most likely a CCT issue, its not that loud, and only on the CCT side

Hey Cody, I have an 84 Interceptor 700. In beautiful shape. Doing a rotor and pad replacement on the front end. I'm assuming from this video the procedure is identical. Hoisting the beast will be the biggest issue.

I have a CB500F and I'm changing my tires out. I've done it before by using a seatbelt strap on the bars and supporting the bike from the roof trusses in my garage. Can you suggest a better way to remove the front tire? I only have a couple of cheap motorcycle stands and a low profile car jack similar to the one in this video. I don't see any suitable areas to jack up the bike safely.

hi I am new this and have watched most of your excellent video's - I see your a Honda trained mechanic I need a bit of help trying to find a carb ref for a Honda 1976 tl125s I have the clymer manual and it dose not state it just states n/a I know the carb on the bike is not the original I am struggling to find out and I have exhausted all avenues on ebay and google please put me mot of my misery

Confusing?! I don’t think i could have made it more simple 😆. Does the bike have a center stand? Also, you can just look in a manual for front tire removal on your bike. Boom...confusion gone.

@TheMotorcycleMD
@TheMotorcycleMD 4 года назад
I’m not saying he isn’t correct at all. He is 100%. I personally don’t like lifting the bikes up on the jacks that lift the whole bike off the ground. So I “pass” on that option. That’s all. 🤙🏻
@mikeeger7581
@mikeeger7581 4 года назад
But I do have a center stand
@TheMotorcycleMD
@TheMotorcycleMD 4 года назад
Well there ya go! Doesn’t take much pressure from underneath to rock that bike back in the rear wheel! I have used good sized 2x4 and a jack to lift up in the front part of the motor. Again, with that center stand it makes lifting it effortless!
