Probably because the ATS-V is the closest thing to a German car you can get from the US, advanced handling characteristics, a modern designed engine and drive train, and a 0-60 time of 4 seconds (3.9 has been achieved)

I own ATS 2.0T 2017, and mine runs in 5.4 0-60 as well as 14.1 For a quarter-mile and being a city driver for most of the time I don’t need ATS-V in my life unless only if I’d be looking for more speeding tickets
I love these two especially the coupe ATS V. They look and perform amazingly. Good job Cadillac, america is finally making good cars. I actually think America started making good cars around 2012. Anyway I love these two.
Let me save everyone the need to complain about motorweek's 0-60, & 1/4 mile times....the CTSV is a 0-60 in 3.7, & 1/4 in 11.6 @127mph car all day long
Well I guess as a pontiac/holden G8 GT driver I don't really fit in here, but I had an 08 C350 also and loved it. I prefer smaller quick cars so definitely eyeing the ATS V in a few years
Well, that and the fact that the CTS-V sucks down an extra thousand gallons of gas per year for a negligible increase in performance. Now if the CTS-V matched the Shitvette around a track, then the ATS-V can go to hell, because that's a nightmarish difference in performance.
@@TasteMyStinkholeAndLikeIt if you’re worried about fuel consumption why would you ever look at a high performance luxury sedan? Yes, the CTS-V is more expensive than the ATS-V … but I will take an SCV8 (with tons and tons on bolt on upgrades available) over a TTV6 every time.
I purchased this car after returning home from Afghanistan traded in my 6spd 05 CTSV FROM 400 hp to 640hp was just what I needed to keep the wife outta my damn car she hates all that power but I love it gave her my 09 Audi S8 v10 but CTSV smokes that like a cheap cigar glad I got one of these no ceramic brakes needed. Come on BMW Audi Benz smoke all you.
When you look at the enormously additional HP/TQ required by the CTS-V to beat the much weaker M4 around the 4.1 mile VIR track by 3 seconds, it speaks to how lousy the CTS-V really is. Hell, the M4 GTS, still much weaker than the CTS-V, beat the CTS-V by 3 seconds... so the CTS-V sits dead center between the M4 and the M4 GTS on the track... both much weaker cars. The CTS-V is just a shitwagon gas sucking pig. LOL.
It's crazy I just watched the m5 vs crab from 09, that caddy had 100 less hp and was .2 seconds slower to 60 and the atsv is a 100 hp less then the 09 and runs same in 60. I no all the variables come into play, curb weight- outside temp,etc. I guess that 4.2 number just out to me.
Definitely love the CTS-V from the beastly Z06 Engine, overall handling, and fantastic performance while looking very sleek and classy outside and inside. The ATS-V is pretty good to, but the exterior looks to boy racerish to me especially the front end, and it seems the Camaro SS is a better value while performing almost as good. Another thing of the ATS-V I'm surprised is it doesn't have the CTS-V digital instrument cluster, but instead the same instrument cluster on the other ATS models, which in my opinion looks like 90s GM. That, the center console touch controls, and the cramped interior were the biggest negatives for me when I test drove a ATS 2.0 last year.
I followed this link from the MotorWeek article that was featuring this video, but there's one huge thing missing from both this video and the Performance numbers on the track! These are not drag racers these are road for God's sake publish the damn lap times!!!
ATS-V with a little tune up to 500hp is a beast and a nice daily driver BUT the oldfashioned interior SUCKS ! Caddy pls look at our new AUDI A4 gauges with 2 x 12" displays and Navi direct in front of the driver if you like to.
The GT-R's 3.8 makes 80 more hp. GM needs to squeeze more ponies out of it's venerable 3.6. My 2008 Aura XR is only rated at 252, but with K&N intake and resonator delete, it's about 262hp, so nothing compared to these beasts!
This this the era where Cadillac went back to their roots on being the Best Car to have!💪🏽 The CT6, CTS & ATS where the best cars Cadillac made since the 60s but in GM Fashion they had to ruin it! Canceling the CT6 soon as we got the BlackWing V8! Then watered down the ATS which became the CT4 & CTS that became CT5🙄. Does GM not understand that when you have a good thing just STICK WITH IT! Why do you think The Japanese & Germans are the go to cars?! Because they stick with a name and just improve on them. TAKE NOTES AMERICAN AUTOMAKERS! You too Ford for finally building good quality cars that drove European Taurus SHO Fusion 2.0 & 2.7Ecoboost & Focus ST & RS then discontinuing them. i would like to know what percentage of these cars are actually taken to a track. I would say most of them are driven by Valet's at 5 star restaurants.
They need to make elmiraj and, escala into production.They also should do a ct5, and ct4. And a ct4-v sport should have a, tuned up version of the 3.6tt ats v and, the ct4 v should get the 6.2 lsa tuned up from 2nd gen cts v. and the ats v+ should get a tuned up lt4 from the current 3rd gen cts v. Also the ct5v sport should get the 4.2tt that the ct6v sport will have and the ct5v, and ct6v should get the lt5 the zr1 has. But both should be tuned up not down like they did with the ctsv. Because both cars will be a lot heavier than the zr1. Also should make a ct5v+ that would add turbos to the ct5v. Also they should try a limited edition cadillac Fleetwood that should have 4 engine specs. A refined 7.7 big block n/a engine, a v sport v12, a v series with a refined tuned up version of the 2003 cadillac 16 concept engine, and a Fleetwood v+ that adds tt's to the v16.This car should compete directly with the phantom, and maybach. Also they should make a redesigned xlr with the 4.2tt engine. And a xlr v with the lt5.and tt charged lt5 in a xlr v+. Also they should make a super luxury suv and, call it a cadillac succubus, and they also should make a full size pick up that get the best features out the silverado high country, the ram limited, the raptor, navigator and, of course the escalade. Also it should have tt 6.2l v8 engine. With a 600+hp and 645+lb ft of torque. And with an v10 option. And have best in class cargo and hauling capability. and, bring back the escalade ext. also produce a mid engine ttv16 that's awd and a electric engine in the front of the car that can give the tesla roadster a run for it's money without the v16. It should have the back glass open a storage compartment over the ttv16. And call it cadillac undisputed. Also none of these should get tuned down from other versions of these motors, platforms, or drivetrains. Also in the v, and v+ models. They should add a small electric engine to run an a/c to the intake and to the rest of the car so that the engine doesn't need to run a compressor. Also have a slightly bigger alternator to help keep the other battery charged. And of course have a plug in option. Also the cadillac undisputed should have that same system. Also they should do a vote every 5-10 years to bring back 1 classic cadillac with a option to make it be an exact replica, or have it refined with the latest technologies the ones who preorders them can have that option. I say they could cut out Buick all together to help fund these. Sell about 90% of the old Buick dealerships and, keep about 10% of them in places cars like these will sell and, rename the dealerships to the super cadillac dealerships, or the Cadillac elite dealerships. If it proves success. Then bring back Buick with cars like cadillac has now. And just have Cadillac as a super luxury brand. And when they bring back Buick add 2 Pontiacs rebranded as buicks the trans am, and gto.
Emission standards will not allow that unless they turn into a supercar company and that would send costs through the roof... Why need a 7.7 big block that makes 600tq at the tap and only makes 300hp when you can go with a 6.2l supercharged and make the same.. They're downgrading because of emission standards to the 4L TT v8
what? the gtr does get less and the real world MPG of the gtr is lower than the ATS, another side note here is the 3.8L in the gtr is bigger than the LT4 in the vette also heavier by almost a whole 4 cyl, also the 6.2L SC v8 gets better MPG than both the GTR and the ATS. you can read their reviews of the gtr they got lower real world MPG thats the nature of turbos, after all we dont wall drive on EPA rollers. - ps: next time be a bit more educated thanks.
