So while in the anime Mr 3 is left floating on a table, in the manga he was just floating in the water. A fan wrote to Oda and pointed this continuity mistake out, as a Devil Fruit user would just sink in the water, and he retconned that there was some really buoyant wood underneath him.

I do love the reveal that crocodile had the real key all along, showing that unlike say a bond villain he doesn't jsut ASSUME he won he makes sure the situation can ONLY result iin his victory. the only reason the strawhats survived was due to something crocodile couldn't predict (sanji coming in to save them AND mr 3 being still alive and saved by sanji's attacks on the bananagator)

I agree with the decision of not reacting to fillers . however i believe that most fans would agree to you reaction to one specific filler arc "G8" . It's a really beloved and fun one , to the point that some viewers can initially believe it to be a fun little canon arc .

So that's a common misconception about how certain devil fruits react to water. Luffy has permanently become rubber he just loses the strength to do anything with that. If you recall during Arlong Park they stretched his neck out of the water.

I don't always subscribe to the idea of "Oda planned it all along!",but it IS really commendable that he made sure that Sanji never once interacted with the Unluckies (before killing them) or the ohter bigwigs in Baroque Works before this point,not in Whiskey Peak, Little Garden or their entrance into Alabasta. It's one of those tricks that comes so clutch in the crew's favor when their opponent is Crocodile,someone who's not only extremely powerful,but also clearly a great planner. The fact that he never gave them the real key is so mean LMAO It's also really funny to think that, had he not toyed with Mr 3's life out of anger and sadistic malice,his plan would have still worked even with Sanji's interference. Props to Vivi too though. Something One Piece is really good at is giving (physically) weaker characters in a sea of monsters the chance to pull through when everyone needs it most. Usopp is the clear example,but seeing Vivi escape the room by a hair to guide Sanji,and seeing the straw hats all praise her,is so heartwarming.

In regards to Mr. 2 and his speech pattern and accent, it is tied to him ending sentences with "wa yo" which is typically associated with a feminine speech pattern (been Years since I done Japanese but an english equivalent is kinda like ending sentences with a valley girl "like, yeah?"). And the nasally bit of his voice really is just the voice actor's choice, although I personally feel he probably is exaggerating that to play up the character's sassy drag queen energy.

Do remember that Yuba was the original location for the Rebel army, that is why Yuba was attacked, not JUST for Toto. That was on purpose to get the rise out of rebels. But yeah its wild he kept doing it after rebels left fr, just to fuck with one man. Granted it was the father of the leader of rebels but still

Yuba is also an Oasis (on top of being the former base of the rebellion as someone else pointed out), so it's a hope for the people of this country, a source of water, Croc needs to keep it buried. But the fact that he made the effort to learn about the old guy specifically means he's still taking personal pleasure in fucking with that one guy for fun. He is 100% petty. "How is he rubber" the water doesn't cancel DF powers. It prevents the user from actively using them and weakens them. For some users, that's the same thing. For example the kilo kilo girl would be a normal person because her only power is to actively change her weight and she wouldn't be able to use it near sea stone or if she was submerged. But for people who have permanent properties like Luffy, those aren't cancelled by water or sea stone.

my guess on the Going Merry is it's still ported where they left it, and it is safely guarded by the kung fu dugongs

Yes, Vivi is such a great character! And even though there aren't as many female characters, they are all so well written.

Smoker is one of the freakishly competent characters in the series.

3:30 - no, if Rainbase was constantly getting water, the king would've had it shared across the kingdom, the entire kingdom faces this draught equally. it's my belief that said water is imported by the Casino from elsewhere. it's also my belief that Croc was having Dance Powder burn near Alabasta so that their draught would continue, as no desert would go 3 years without seeing water.

Luffy's actor has posted several photos from the set.from season 2 including him on a camel in the dessert so we are getting Alabasta.

Totally agree with you thinking ultimately going along with Vivi’s plan might have been the better option. They probably should have split up to cover all their bases, but as you’re noticing, Croc has contingencies up the wazoo. Vivi probably would still run into issues stopping the war and we needed the whole crew there to have things play out the way it did.

that's certainly 1 of the reason why OP is so great - Oda excels at micro- and macro- storytelling, short- and long-term, hyping up 2 or more characters while they are in direct opposition of one another, all while tackling layers of different themes throught all that

10:35 you can definitely skip filler episodes, other than possibly G8 filler arc which is well-liked by many people. The arc after that, although is not filler, is actually a canon filler in the manga that Oda wants for his own fun, but this arc is not well liked by many. lol!

THey probably wouldn't have been able to get to the rebels in time if they went to katorea instead of rainbase. Not only would they likely have taken longer to get there and thus not be able to do anything when crocodile's minions cuased trouble, but remember crococodile actually set up assassins there too so the strawhats would have been attacked had they been spotted there.

my favourite time of the week, more one piece reactions!! if i had to guess about season 2 of the live action and alabasta, id guess itd be something like; ep 1: Loguetown ep 2: Laboon + Whiskey Peak ep 3: Little Garden ep 4: Drum Island ep 5-8: Alabasta it seems like a lot to get through, but theres a good bit of filler that can be cut, especially without the warship island arc, itd be about the same amount of anime episodes covered as season 1 did. plus i assume theyll continue to cut a lot of the main stuff as well, id be surprised if we get all the number agents for instance.

There’s actually a writer on season 2 that has a One Piece RU-vid channel, his name is Randy Troy. But don’t look it up because you’ll get spoiled. He’s a big fan of Vivi and Crocodile so I think there is a good chance we have Alabasta in next season of the live action. My fingers are crossed they go above the 10 episode threshold. Who knows, maybe they do 10 episodes and a movie. Maybe they go above even 12 episodes. I don’t think they can do this story justice without giving the time needed for all of this stuff.
