I understand that not every trans person has the same views... But what I think the viewer was saying when you look at what is in the news it's Dylan mulvany, kids going to drag shows, it's child sex changes, the navy has a drag influencer recruiting, etc. I don't hate trans people the same way I don't hate I don't hate drug addicts. It's a life style choice that can be hard to break and I think they need help.

Hi, I wonder if you can help, please. Thanks to a long, forgotten GTA V thumbnail for the Paparazzo 'tape' level, RU-vid removed it, keeping the video, but now I can't post for a week! I search for the same level on RU-vid and see several other channels using the same content. Complete double standards, and Team RU-vid aren't helping me.

What you were saying about "Why are you angry? and who benefits from that?" is why my parenting win with my kids has been to tell them that if someone/something (especially on social media) is making them angry or fearful or even "You must buy this thing!" they have to remember that if someone is appealing to extreme emotions then chances are their rational argument is not all that strong. My eldest in particular has even started quoting that back at me when I forget myself... Thanks for providing a simpler way of putting it though... Who benefits indeed.

That was a great point from Danielle. We live in a world of social media, 24 hour news cycles and portable devices with us all day long to consume it all. We forget how much influence those things have on our own opinions. Lots of people do have agendas, for sure. Politicians... law-makers... but I don't think Mr. Beast is one of them when it comes to this issue.
@martinsmallridge4025
@martinsmallridge4025 Год назад
@@Daniel_Batal I should probably clarify, while my comment/mantra may apply to some of MrBeasts content, I had more for of the extreme media/politician outbursts in mind. The likes of Alex Jones, Tucker C, etc... The sheer amount of 24/7 bombardment that we and particularly kids can get has always been a worry. It's literally Cabin fever levels where you can't get away from it. So having a simplistic strategy for identifying at least the majority of emotionally charged manipulation and BS was a major win for us. Thanks as ever for breadth as well as depth in your content. Conversation over clashing is always preferable.

One of my more religious online friends recently sent me a message asking if he could go back to using my old name/pronouns. There was quite a bit to the message, but the main part was "[...] Would you be offended if I dropped the female reference names and such? [...] I'm afraid I've come to a crossing roads on one of my hardcore beliefs and I know which way I must go..." I didn't really know what to say, put my phone down for a second to think, and immediately got sucked into work. A few hours later I finished my task, and remembered I needed to reply. When I checked my phone again, I had a message from him saying "I owe you apologies... I'm not good with this ... feeling and idk how to manage yet, it's still so new to me yet familiar. anyways just please forgive me and dont think too badly, please" I just said "I'm not upset, but you prolly know what my answer is ❤" I had some other stuff to do, got distracted for a while again, and when I checked my phone again there was a wall of text that ended with "you know what? I'm just being silly about this because this is all new to me. If God rejects me because I try to love you and RESPECT what you currently want, then I shouldn't want to be a part of that kingdom." People don't need to be attacked for taking time to get used to societal changes. Yes, trans individuals exist through history and across species. That doesn't mean that it's always been socially accepted, and denying that it's "unusual" or "different from the norm" just makes people feel dumb. It's not intentional, but when you say (basically) "It's always been like this" you're not only mildly gaslighting them, you're implying they're not in touch with the world. Trans people living normal lives *is* new. It *is* a change from the societal norms of the majority of human history. It *hasn't* always been accepted for people to express themselves as they see fit. And as with every societal change, it takes time for people to recognize that. It's not healthy, for trans people or others, to pretend like it isn't a massive societal change. When I first saw that message from my friend, I had a choice. I could have gotten upset with my friend. I could have been angry. But I'd very likely lose a great friend. I've known him for years, and he's a great guy. A father, a hard worker, smart as hell, he'd give everything to protect those he cares about. No way I'm turning away a quality friend like that over an honest question, asked in a moment of internal turmoil. All people need is to be heard, and to be shown that they're loved. Lastly, to anyone with negative opinions of trans people in general, all I have to say is just hold your judgement until you get to know someone. Trans people are people, and as with every human, some of us are worth knowing, and some of us aren't. It's okay to not understand everything at first. If you've got questions, find a trans person who's open to questions and just like, talk with them. Not everyone is open to some of the harder or more personal questions, but plenty are. If you need help starting a dialogue, here's something you can copy to a trans friend or acquaintance: "Hey, I'm wanting to understand trans people a bit better. Is it okay if I ask you some more personal questions about it? If not that's okay, do you have a friend I could talk with that'd be able to help me understand things better?" That's all it takes to get a worthwhile conversation going, and I think the vast majority of trans people would be ecstatic you're taking the initiative to understand. It's easy to see trans people as scary when your only source of information is news/social media. But news/social media literally makes money by exploiting the emotional pathways in your brain, so maybe take their words with a grain of salt? At the end of the day we're just- we're just normal humans. We're just innocent humans. ♥

@@megan4936 I think most people are, actually, as long as they're spoken with at a human level. There's all this "this group does this" and "that group did this one thing", and it takes the focus off the individuals that make up those groups. It's all just noise at the end of the day; we're all humans, and that's the only group that actually matters 🙂

Amy, this is the kindest, most compassionate, and understanding response I have ever read from one friend to another. If everyone could find a way to insert themselves into another’s understanding, when invited, there would be far less hate in the world. I want to address your friend’s deep respect for you and his overwhelming desire to be completely honest with you while trying to find a way through the quagmire of his emotions and his religious beliefs. It was commendable and brave, just as your thoughtful responses to him were. Both of you opened a door that permits a safe space and concern for the other. He is smart, but you are well informed, very literate, expressive, and compassionate yourself. Your words enlighten and teach without preaching. Use your voice…it is so very much worth hearing.

Given that person's wording in their email I unfortunately doubt they'll listen to this the moment they get the drift that you don't agree with them. Hopefully it will reach others, though. I gotta admit when I saw the thumbnail/title I had a moment of _"Oh, no... please don't be like that..."_ but I'm thrilled now that I've watched the video. Thank you so much for taking a stand when you absolutely didn't need to given the regular content on your channel. (I got verbose in the rest of this comment so you can either ignore it or consider yourself warned. 😅) My oldest friend of 30+ years came out to me as trans a couple years ago, and I've felt like I'm finally getting to know the real person she is for the first time even though we've known each other since we were six years old. We were prom dates, ffs, after making a pact when we were 12 that if niether of us was dating anybody when prom came, we'd be each other's dates. The fact that she turned out to be trans while I turned out asexual and aromantic is endlessly amusing to me, but that's neither here nor there. My long-winded point is that I have decades of close history with her and she's one of my closest friends, so this issue is deeply personal for me even though I was already an ally to trans rights for years before anybody I knew came out as trans. This swelling of hatred for the community frightens me more every day because they're not hurting anybody; they're just trying to live their lives like the rest of us.

That's a huge increase! This isn't the end of the world. It's pushing trans people back into the closet where we slowly die in extreme pain. This was a nice convorsation, and I wish these were put in my feed much more than the radical short for or against this topic. While I normally don't talk about my own mental struggles, I would like to mention a personal observation as it kinda contrasts something mentionned in your video. Back in the 90s, the Health Board tried to normalize disabilities with the concept of simplifying and spectrums. While this helped, it also did a lot of harm as it lead the world in general to be dismissive of major struggles that PDDs were going through. For myself having ADHD, this means not only hearing people claim to know my struggle cause they had a brain fart once, but giving me ostracizing stares whenever other issues related to my condition came up, such as reading comprehension issues, language issues, focus issues, depression, memory loss, concentration, overtrust, etc. In fact, while the health board tried to remove the barrier for disabled people, what they ended up doing is nudging the goalpost just enough that between able minded people self-assessing and parents bribing doctors, ADD became overdiagnosed and the struggles became burried even deeper. So deep, in fact, that many who call out to friends for help gain the equivilance of a wet whipe for a 3rd degree burn. All this to say (hopefully understandably and respectfully) that when your friend (sorry, bad with names) kinda dismissed transitionning kids as a trend brought on by awareness, I fear that greatly ignores how people have used and weaponized such cases as a means to artificially seek attention. For family members, talking about the struggles/oppression their child faces becomes a trophy to garder sympathy. For children, claiming a gender allows one to stand out by no merrit or skill while also assuring people cater to your whims. For society at large, it gives a mole hill they can pander into a mountain so that they can claim being a humanitarian without doing anything.... All the meanwhile, the wishes and struggles of those who actually have GD get ignored; your friend (who wishes to be treated as normal) gets forced into the spotlight; men who might be gay are left even more confused as people misgender him; and comming out will bring a bunch of new stress hoping people won't think you're seeking attention, and will truely accept you - not just be afraid to be labled transphobic. I have gone though a few of those myself and shut out my disability from the world because of it, and would love to see a world where people don't have to go through that... I just fear that unless the radicals and attention seekers become the ones ostracized, that the use of using one's (or a loved one) disabilty for power becomes chastized, we will only fall for the same sins as our forefathers have. The only solution I see working now is to a) divide the LGB (sexual preferences) to he TQIA2+ (identities), and b) to push against any major talk about it; no "safe spaces" no flags, nothing that would suggest that they are different. C) only then should we fight against those who discriminate on an individual basis rather than a societal one. No movements, no parades... just no tollerance

This topic is VERY heavily pushed in not just news but just about everywhere. I think alot of folks (and not just certain groups alone) may be upset about this because of how the news and media and social media in general is portraying certain groups. I know several LGBT folks, and they are NOT like how the media is portraying them, honestly. They just want to be NORMAL. They want to be treated normally and there are several in that community who don't want to have anything to really do with what the media is pushing now. It's a very hard spot for folks to be in and I truly feel for those who want to be seen and portrayed and heard but are being pushed down and even ostracized by their very own community for this. Your area of creating a space for conversation as well as allowing all concerned parties to have a voice on what is concerning them regardless of siding brings a easy to respect talking field and disengages the usual flame that some may have. I know you're going to have a lot of people having a lot to say. I just wanted to say that you hit this one out of the park. I tried not to formulate any opinion or take any side in the title or thumbnail, though that's really hard to do. I tried to be true to what this video was going to talk about. I have a very small RV/Travel Cargo Camper channel. I also have a transgender grandson - but I've never discussed that in our videos, as I never saw the relevance. Those influenced for the better included my biased preacher grandpa as well. When Charlie passed I found gpa downstairs in the church van, too upset to continue the floor rounds. I was a teen on a "mission" and scolded him on being downstairs while men were waiting on him upstairs. Before I hopped back out of the van he said, "I never expected to learn how to be a better christian from my own granddaughter." Gpa died in 2012. Great video! I generally live in the "let people live the way they want to live" mindset. Unless it's somehow impacting my life; then everyone deserves their happiest life possible. Social media fills timelines with additional content that people interact with. So the ones that interact with, feel or believe that there is an agenda _for any cause_,-whether it be political, gender, flat earth, lizard people, or anything-are getting fed that information more often to promote _time on platform_. This only enhances their feeling that there is an agenda... BUT... I've also noticed that the type of people that whole-heartedly believe in these conspiracies are not the type to question or research and learn more to formulate an educated opinion. Then, when those of us that do like to pursue knowledge and understanding chime in with a _counter point_ to their conspiracies, we are the ridiculous ones. Great video sir! As Danielle said, it’s not an easy transformation. When I worked in Homecare, my company and Mt. Sinai hospital (NYC) we’re one of the first to partner to give gender affirming care to our patients. They go through at least 1 year of mental therapy and /or treatment before even being considered for surgery. And after surgery care is not fun. They have multiple nursing visits, psychiatric care, etc. Let people be, you can’t know the struggle others may be facing but we can be there to listen and give support

@@Daniel_Batal I tried the appeal and they weren't interested. It wasn't a copyright thing, but the rather risque thumbnail I'd used - albeit two years ago and completely forgot about. I don't mind losing the thumbnail, but it's the fact that several other people have a pretty similar thumbnail (if you look up the level of the game, you'll see why it was risque), and Team RU-vid are just ignoring the fact I'm pointing out their double standards, since I'm being penalised but they ignore all the other videos.

Ah, so it was a Community Guidelines issue. Got it. As I said, let go of the "other people get away with it" thought process. All of them could also get hit with a violation years later as you did. Focus on just making sure you don't do anything that might put your channel in jeaopardy.

@@Daniel_Batal Well, my issue was that when I pointed out to Team RU-vid that they're sanctioning me for it, yet completely ignoring several other channels doing the same, that's when they went silent. Hence, I think it's a disgrace that they have double standards. All I can do is make a video about it when I get my uploading back, and comment on the channels who have such thumbnails, and how to make sure they don't end up in the same boat.

You know what I realize from this conversation. Most every day transgender people are not pushing radical political laws. Most transgender people just want to live their lives peacefully. I think we need to stop treating the transgender community like its a political party. Everyone that chooses to transition didn’t join a political club and can be held responsible for passing laws for single digit children to transistion without their parents consent. Was a pleasant conversation.

@@billyboy2285The radical trans are really a minority of a minority. Much like radical liberals or radical conservatives.

While I'll never understand why some people get so upset and militant over what others do with their life (all the while preaching about personal freedoms), I do appreciate your take of responding with education. I have serious doubts that those afraid of anything approaching change will listen with anything other than instant revulsion, one has to try, right? Thanks for addressing the topic. #ally

Unfortunately some people have their own actual agenda and some comments were pretty aggressive on this video. I have none other than to live and let live.

This is a great video. I personally don't care who or what you decided to be in life. It's your life live it fully and be what you want to be and have fun doing it. No ones ever going to tell me how to be me and I have the same respect for everyone else in the world as well. We are one no matter how you look at it.

Agreed. (not on the great video part, that's for others to decide. But we are most definitely one and connected)
